Your top 10 7th gen games? (360, Wii, PS3)

Just dusted off the ol' PS3, and was reliving the glory days. Despite gaming since the 70s, this console gen was my all-time favorite, and I was wondering what your top games across these systems were. Here are mine:

10. Mark of the Ninja - Usually I just tolerate stealth in games, but the indicators on whether or not you were visible in this 2d ninja game were so solid, it felt almost like a puzzle game.
9. Telltale's Walking Dead Season 1 - I played adventure games on my PC in the 80s/90s, but nothing hooked my emotions like this. Later, we would realize the choice was largely illusory and they'd beat the format to death with their other series, but it was amazing at to me at the time.
8. Mortal Kombat (9) - I'd always enjoyed the goofy lore of this series (even the Shaolin Monks game), but the campaign here made me love the franchise all over again. Still my favorite in the series.
7. Super Mario Galaxy - I didn't play my Wii much, but this game just felt so great. Just pure joy on a disc.
6. Halo Reach - I'd loved Halo since the first one on original Xbox, but this might be my favorite: A coherent story, great music, a weapon/ability system I enjoyed, and a great ending. I didn't expect to like this one as much as I did.
5. Rock Band 2 - The pinacle of the music genre for me. Great soundtrack, great coop, great UI, great party game.
4. Rayman Legends - The most underrated 2d platformer ever, in my opinion...Yes, it's well-regarded, but it's nearly top of the genre for me. And those music levels killed.
3. The Last of Us - I didn't love the Uncharted games, so I had no idea if I'd like this one...but of course, I loved it. Though the story (and that ending!) get most of the credit, I feel like the mad, improvisational scramble of the combat doesn't get enough credit.
2. Batman: Arkham Asylum - I remember that nobody had much faith in this when it was previewed, but the metroidvania that actually greeted us upon release was so true to the character, it was just amazing.
1. Mass Effect 2 - The characters, the music, the stakes...I just bought all in. The last Bioware game I truly loved.

1. Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii)

Yes the game is on weak hardware, but rhe exploration and the world is fantastic. The cast and story were memorable. The soundtrack was great. My favorite 7th Gen Game of all time. I'm happy we are still getting more games from this franchise

2. Star Ocean 4 (XB360)

Yes the story and cast suck but the gameplay is why I play Star Ocean.. The battle system is fantastic. Also Item Creation FTW. That is all :p

3. Tales of Vesperia (XB360)

My second favorite Tales game behind Abyss. fantastic visuals, great cast including all memorable waifus 😏, fantastic soundtrack, great plot, and fun gameplay

4. Mass Effect 2 (XB360)

Fantastic middle game in a Trilogy. Had lot of great characters, Sidequests, plot etc.

5. Batman: Arkham Asylum (PC)

Still my favorite Arkham game. The map isn't too big but not too small. Boss battles are fun. Gameplay is fun brawler type style. I loved exploring and doing all the puzzles. One of the few games where I 💯 everything

6. Fable 2 (XB360)

Great Funny game. I loved the visuals, and rye gameplay was fun.

7. Lost Odyssey (XB360)

This should have been Final Fantasy 13. A Dark Plot, fun battle system, etc. Overall a tight package

8. Blue Dragon (XB360)

The first game I ever played on an HD TV. The graphics at the time were Fantastic. I found the gameplay fun. The whole game gave me Saturday Morning Cartoon Adventure vibes

9. Ni No Kuni (PS3)

The Celshading is Fantastic but the battle system isn't as good as it can be. Still fun but could be better. The game is fun though. I liked trying to get every creature. The plot was good. Music was fantastic. Overall, a great experience.

10. Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel (PS3)

I still prefer the 2nd game but this one did a great job wrapping up the Trilogy. My only issue is that the Waifus that you can Date aren't as hot lol. Still enjoyable though. I think Gust should just re-release all 5 games on current consoles

Fable 2 just missed my top 10. Loved that game, but haven't been back to it since. I wonder if it'd hold up for me...?

No specific order cause it's pretty hard as all those games are top notch

Red Dead Redemption, Xenoblade, The Last Of Us, Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Bayonetta, Batman Arkham Asylum and City, Tekken 6, Skyrim, God Of War 3, Uncharted 1,2,3, MGS4, Dead Space, Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood, Mortal Kombat 9.

Yes more than 10, it's not possible to not included all those in a Top 10.

Just gonna say that I'm not going to cheat by listing an entire trilogy as one game.

Incredible generation, I think I bought more games for the PS3 than any other console before or since. Narrowing it down to ten is near impossible and if you asked me the same question tomorrow a couple of the games might differ. In no particular order:

Uncharted 2
Little Big Planet
MGS4
God of War 3
Bioshock
Dark Souls
GTA4
Red Dead Redemption
The Last of Us
Fallout 3

Some of games that would be interchangeable:

Rayman Origins/Legends, Demon's Souls, Mass Effect 2, Portal 2, Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2, Skyrim, Resistance 2, Uncharted 3.

I also loved RE5. Other than RE1 and Village, it's the only RE I ever beat. A friend and I played it coop, and I loved the action-y bend of it.
Also like Pacfic Rift, specifically in 3d.

Little Big Planet 2

Super Mario Bros Wii

Uncharted

Uncharted 2

Wii Sports

Heavy Rain

NCAA Football (choose a year)

Batman: Arkham Asylum

I included 12 PURELY because I wasn’t sure if Sequels counted individually or if it covered “the franchise”, and since I have 2 sequels mentioned - I will include an additional 2 titles just to cover my bases… if that makes sense.

That’s… roughly it… I think

Underrated generation as far as I'm concerned. Full of cult classics in the making that barely anyone gave a chance. Last exciting gen imo. Especially compared to whatever twisted form gaming is shaping into now.

Anyway, unordered list:

WET
NeverDead
El Shaddai
Split/Second
Nier
Uncharted 2
Need for speed: undercover
Modnation racers
Bioshock
Driver: San francisco

This list can go beyond ten.
