Zen4 X3D to be used in 6 and 8 core CPUs - rumor

The first and most obvious one is the Ryzen 7000 3D V-Cache lineup that was confirmed by us to be unveiled at CES 2023. It is reported that the lineup will have only two parts, an 8-core, and a 6-core variant. So it looks like we will be getting the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and the Ryzen 5 7600X 3D more or less. These CPUs will offer a 3D-Stacked chiplet design, featuring larger SRAM & providing users with higher gaming performance in cache-intensive titles.
AMD won't just stop at the 3D V-Cache parts, later in 2023, there is a next-gen AM5 Desktop APU lineup planned. This lineup will also fall under the Ryzen 7000 'G' series family but is expected to launch in the second half of 2023. Currently, there's no information available as to what these line of chips will offer but since they are going to be compatible with the AM5
Finally, there's an update on the A620 chipset platform. So far, AMD has confirmed X670 & B650 chipsets but the leaker states that the A620 chipset will be announced around Q2 2022 and will not offer CPU overclocking support. The entry-level platform would make sense with Non-X and low-end Ryzen 3 chips if AMD plans on launching them. This may solve the high pricing issue of the AM5 platform but given how restrictive the whole A620 chipset platform would be, it wouldn't make sense to use these motherboards if you plan on benefiting from the longevity of the AM5 ecosystem.

A 6 core CPU with extra cache might just become the best bang for money, for gamers in 2023.

I'm having a hard time believing people will buy the 7600X3D. They're already crying that the stock 7600x is too much at $300. (And already slightly faster in gaming than the 13600K) So I can't imagine what folks gonna say when this part is $350/$380, lol. The 7800X3D will be a fun time for those who purchase that, however. The 5800X3D is one of my greatest PC purchases, ever. So I know the 7800X3D is gonna bring the smoke once again.

I doubt is gonna be 350 . Even with 3d cache launching a 6 core 12 thread CPU at 350 or more is a risky move. In all likelihood 7600x will drop to 250 and the 3d will launch at 300-320

Will be interesting to see whether the performance uplift is at good as we saw from the 5800X to 5800X3D. Given the 7x00X is already running on fast DDR5 RAM, the cache uplift might not be as significant.

The issue with the 7600X is not exactly the price, but rather the price/performance. As there is just as good, if not better on the market.
But if the 7600XD bring a boost to performance as big as the 5800X3D brought over the 5800X, then it will be a killer CPU. As long as AMD doesn't price it ridiculously high.

There in lies the problem, in my opinion. No way they sell it for $300 unless AMD plans on dropping the price of the 7600x. Then perhaps? One of the reasons I believe it'll be $350 or $380. I'll be stunned if its lower, but happy as a consumer for my fellow DIY community who'll be in the market for a nice chip.

7800X3D will be $449 like the 5800X3D. I feel AMD left themselves some space with the 7700x being $399.

AMD dropped the price of the 5800X when they released the 5800X3D.
Now the 7600X is selling poorly, so that is a strong incentive for a price reduction.

I agree with your suggestion of 449$ for the 7800X3D. Maybe the 7600X3D will be around 350$-370$

That's true, but you also have to remember that 5800x came out in '20 and the X3D came out in '22. But you're right about the 7600x selling poorly, so that may be their incentive to price drop. The biggest problem with AMD and AM5 is the motherboard pricing. That has really destroyed any reason to go AM5 right now. Why would I buy a B650 board for $300 when a "premuim" X670e board is the same price. Insane, lol

The 76003D will be $399 and the 78003D $499, they’ll both be perpetually sold out for 6+ months and scalped for at least $100 extra.

I might wait for Zen4 or Zen5 until my next upgrade.

Doubt my 5700X is going to struggle in games since my CPU is already more powerful than what's in the PS5/XSX.

I would be STUNNED to say the least about those prices. But with the way Nvidia, Intel and AMD have been trending, I guess I really shouldn't be surprised at those prices.

Your 5700x will be a fun time for a long time. What GPU do you have paired with it?

Right now? 1660Ti. Fine for 1080p60 only. I sold my 2080Ti last month before the Nvidia conference. I now regret it. 😂

However I might wait for the RTX 5000 series if the 7900 XTX isn't as good as originally planned.

Keeping an older GPU might be useful to clear my steam backlog haha. But since the 1660Ti can even play Cyberpunk at 60FPS (with FSR quality), I am willing to wait.

Just some supposed leaks, so take it with a grain of salt.

And some benchmarks

Did the benchmark images get taken down? They don't seem to be loading for me...

7950X3D will take the title of fastest gaming cpu?? nice.

can we expect any 7700/7800X3D to offer similar performance like how there is little difference between a 7700-7950X in gaming or is it expected they will be noticeable slower but obviously still much faster than non 3D models?

i just bought a 7700X and yeah i knew these cpus were coming. i'll use the 7700X until i can get a 3D cpu and then i'll sell it.

disappointed that they will be 170W TDP but whatever.
