So, apparently I preordered this from the PSN store. Don't recall that purchase. I'm not upset, just annoyed that I have no time to play it.

No, it wouldn't. It would be a damn shame if I played 100+ hours only to have to do it all the fuck over again. I'm sorry as much as I like GTA V I don't think I can put another straight 100+ hours in it again. Just cause I had fun doing it doesn't mean I want to have to do it all over again (how is that fun?). And I really enjoy the vehicles I have grinded to get (including my tank which by the way I don't use to shoot players up with). I've already played it a lot and I expect the entertainment value won't last as long. If you don't like all the trolls, find people who aren't, put the on your friends list, and eventually just play in an invite only server (hell, most of the time I play by myself online on an invite only cause I don't like playing with the trolls either).

I'm sorry you didn't get to play old gen for whatever reason. The reward? GTA is going to be completely new for you. I already put in the time, when they can easily transfer over the progression cause they already have it online, why should I be punished by having everything I have done reset? As I said, that would either encourage me just not to go to new gen or give up on online entirely.

How about this? Older players that care can have fun trying to show the newer players around and protecting them from the trolling older players? That sounds a lot more reasonable for everyone and gives a fun way to play the game too.

Anyways, luckily for me you are the one that is going to have to deal with them not doing it the way you would prefer.

Actually, just thought of something. If I want to wait to transfer my character cause I don't trust that there won't be bugs at first, would it be possible to create a new character just to futz around in online til I feel safe to bring my current one on (I don't care if it gets erased)? Or do I have to transfer the character when I first go on online on the PS4?

You can create a new character and then transfer your other one in later and it will allow you to combine the cash from both that you've accumulated.

You will still be able to play your existing characters on PlayStation®3 and/or Xbox 360, however any progress made with versions of the characters on those systems after a transfer will remain on those systems only. Any existing PlayStation®4 or Xbox One GTA Online character and progression data will be replaced by the previous character and progression data during the transfer, except for any existing in-game money, which will be combined with your transferred balance.

A decent bit, actually. Low end 10 car garage is about 50k, I believe. Lowest High Scale apartment with 10 car car-hole is about 250k. Do NOT buy a super car, they are over rated!!! I will back my words up with my Comet, any day of the week, with any money. Buy a Sports car, like a Comet, Coquette, Feltzer, Massacro, and mod that all the way. The car is a fraction of the cost of a super car, and when they are completely maxxed out, they are just as fast. In my Comet I keep up with Zentornos, Adders, Entity's, and more. Cheap to replace if blown up, also, less than 2k, where supers are 8k and up. You could also buy a sport bike, like the Dinka Akuma, but bikes are dangerous. Not as safe as a car, but SUPER fast, and tons of fun. Look around, mess with stuff in SP, and then make a choice. Save the super car for down the road, I rarely drive my 3 supers, but drive my 8 sports cars all the time.

Some people may have had this bug, but I have never had any glitch like this happen to me. It's rare now, anyway.

Are you sure it's not cause you are probably better skilled than they are (doesn't matter how good the car if the person isn't so good <- I know, I'm one of those not so good ;) )? I'm pretty sure given equal skills that Zenterno is going to beat the Comet ;). But nothing beats skills in the end.

Though I will say the comet is really good. And I would say I don't think one shouldn't waste their money on the super cars at the (especially if like me they just really like them and the Zenterno is pretty fun to drive honestly and very forgiving of bad driving in my experience. Or rather it handles better at faster speeds than other cars, it's pretty sticky as GTA cars go). But I do think that one shouldn't try to buy them as the first car (wait until you have some spare money). And honestly, start in a worse car that requires you make less mistakes will make you a better driver than one that forgives your mistakes easily.

And I'll echo the comet is really fun to drive too. But I'd actually recommend the Voltic Coil for the first fast car. Very fun, good handling, super good acceleration (That will help a lot when you mess up a lot). Though it will not compete in top end with any super cars so it is not going to win in a straight line race or one with a lot of straights.

But it's cheap to replace, has a good spot for cover in missions, is better than any NPC's car.

wouldn't it be cool if R* implemented a lottery system where you could pay to play the numbers once a month with like 0.1 out of a million chance to win? would also be cool of the winner of the lotos psn or xbl tag could be mentioned on the in game radio. Something a small static independent patch could do each month.

Was there any update on actual new features to SP, if any? I know the big things are the visual enhancements and first-person mode, but did they do anything to the SP gameplay-wise?

Is there going to be enough controller customization to be able to work this out? Certain games don't do any Vita specific controls and also provide zero controller customization options. (I'M looking at YOU Shadows of Mordor!)

I've got this pre-ordered on PS4 but unfortunately my system is currently in Sony's possession in order to be repaired. I figure next Thursday is the absolute earliest I'll have it back.

I haven't missed out on playing a GTA release first day, ever (not including the top view games). Makes me sad, man. :(

Almost went with the Xbone version just so I could play day 1, but my friends that play GTA are on PS4.

While I'm totally against double dipping I never did play the multiplayer in this. Was it good? Even with just randomers? And I assume there's nothing for me to transfer from single player?

amazing unpredictable fun with randoms as you have the whole city to yourself without never knowing what to expect from randoms. Some can just want to kill you repeatedly while others may just want to chill with you and explore los santos.

In my experience most just want to kill you. Or ignore you if you're lucky.

I think it depends upon how you derive your fun. I had a blast with strangers. And by blast I mean I drove around lobbing bombs at people or hunting them down with fighter jets. It was always good for a laugh when people would congregate around the various airfields and start killing each other with planes, guns, cars etc.

I often would approach randoms letting them know I come in peace and would create fun games to play that didn't involve killing like mt chiliad manhunts and stunt jumps. I also liked to go in games and kill everything moving sometimes lol, it depends on how I am feeling.

Heh, and no offense, but I think you wouldn't be the person I want to play with.

I liked playing more co op with people honestly. And easily amused people (one of my favorite memories was a guy trying to get everyone in the lobby on a bus just to see if we could fit everyone in the lobby on a bus. Unfortunately one person thought it was more fun to try to blow up the bus. Some of my other favorite memories are people trying to help me steal a police SUV. Even recently when some one convinced me maybe I was wrong and you could still keep them so we tried to steal one and some random in a helicopter started flying above us and I was sure he was just going to troll us but he was helping us by blowing up the cops).

That's the kind of fun I like to have. Us against the AI or even doing stupid sh** like trying to offroad in mac trucks (and if your cab seperates you're out). Or I'd love to try one of the Fail Race challenges (for example the trying to drive around the perimeter of the island on a bus without touching any pavement).

Well, if you are not in your kill everything mode (I don't mind going on rampages against AI and in fact I love doing that, hell I bought my tank just to rampage against the cops. But I don't like being aggressive against other players unless I know that's how they want to play too and even then I gotta be bored to want to do PvP), I'd love to play with you :).

While I have to agree with you on your first point :D I still would have to say yes. The Super cars acceleration is the main thing that is better than Sports cars, but top speeds, like a group of people cruising down the highway (not drafting, which alters speed), my Comet keeps up with supers in a straight line. No real skill going straight :\ But each car has their "sweet spot" where acceleration is a BEAST though...mastering each car really unlocks it's potential.

For a first car, the Comet may be a little much for people...it's very back end happy. People spin out in them all the time, they take some time to learn how they handle, but they are an absolute JOY once you get it down. It's my favorite car, and the most fun I ever have driving in the game. The Coquette, though, is my opinion for a GREAT starter car. It freaking hugs the road like a child hugging his mom....it's practically glued to the road. Very fast, cool looking, and can get a open top version (Roadster). Still cheapish, too. The Coil Voltic IS a beast in acceleration, almost nothing matches it, but top speed is terrrrrible. My main beef with the Voltic is when you try to take it off jumps, it *loves* rolling, and landing on the roof. Even if you land on your wheels, mine seemed to land weird often...

Yea, that's my take. I try to help new players often, and I try to show them I man no harm by pulling up past them, or way before, and getting out, or parking near them honking my horn a ton. Try to park in a way so they can't shoot me easily quickly. If they try to shoot, I drive away, and come back and do the same without shooting to show I am peaceful. I usually get some followers this way, and a ton of FR's. But it helps them by having an extra gun as you drive them around. And it's fun helping out n00bs!

Edit: derp....double post....sorry I got excited and thought I was editing...GTA does that to me..

Sounds like fun and my friends have nothing to worry about, I often like to play the beat the bully role for friends when being trolled too lol. Its always fun to see how long you can survive against AI. I am so anxious to see how long everyone can survive against the AI in fps mode.
