That thread is a bit funny in sight. Dude is hyping himself over the horrifying elements in Bloodborne when all things considered that is among the more tame things in the game...

Got invaded yesterday within 10 seconds of starting at
Nightmare of Mensis

Dude was trying to bait me into some enemies but I didn't take the bait.

When he finally started to approach me, we did this dance for like 2 minutes, mirroring each others movements like boxing opponents in their first round, no attacks yet... then all of a sudden I see PREY SLAUGHTERED on my screen.

Dude fell off the cliff. We didn't even swing our weapons once. I had a good laugh after that.

I love PvP, but wish it was easier to get into matches. A dedicated "Arena" or something like that would be great.

Are you sure Ludwig is faster? When switching and test them both out, the Ludwig seemed slower to me.

It didn't feel faster, let alone twice as fast.

I didn't say Ludwig is faster although looking back at that post it seems that it's worded that way.

I am saying that Saw Cleaver doesn't have the stagger of Ludwig but it has similar DPS (when you consider the damage plus the higher attack speed of the Cleaver). Saw Cleaver is much faster than Ludwig's 2H form even vs the Saw Cleaver's 2H version.

I've found myself preferring the Saw Cleaver than the Ludwig for PvP. Ludwig is better for PvE though.

The main downside with Ludwig is the shitty transform attacks. These are very very powerful with some other weapons but with Ludwig and Kirkhammer they're a liability.

Well if we are talking about PvP than the Blade of Mercy is godlike at the moment. Many of it moves seem specifically designed for PvP combat.

I was mostly talking about PvE for Ludwig's and even then I know there are probably better options than it. However, Ludwig has seen me through NG+ with ease and is still pulling work in NG++ plus Depth 4 Chalice.

It can get pretty horrible with the invasions. Especially if they bait you into the frenzy daggers area.

Yeah but I haven't seen any good strategies.

And the windows when you are able to hit him are so small so one boring strategy is to just chip away at his health bit by bit and it takes a long time.

Another strategy is to use parry + riposte and I did that pretty good one time and I got his health down to about 5% but then he did his first
aerial
attack against me and I hadn't seen it before and I thought I had a lot of health left but it was a OHK from where-ever my health bar was at... but then every other time his parry + riposte window was feeling also very small and I was missing it a lot and I haven't beaten him yet....

It's kind of weird that Chalice Dungeons don't level up with you in NG+, since I waited till after my first game to try them out the first two depths have been trivially easy. I suppose that Pthemeran style of dungeon will become completely obsolete to many after a couple playthroughs...

Eileen the Crow
sub quest. I met her twice she told me about the encounter, but I only just went there now and they're not here. Are you supposed to go straight away? Do I have to wait til NG+ now? Damn.

Just beat the game this morning! I killed
the Gerhman
on my second attempt and
the Moon Presence
on my first. My heart was pounding, I got the luckiest visceral attack off just as my health was low enough to be killed by any hit, I don't even know how I did that. What an amazing game, it's my first time sticking to a Souls game and this is definitely a contender for GOTY for me.

I still don't really know what the hell is going on story wise, it's all so vague.
Time for NG+!

Hit the lore thread if you don't get the gist of the story. Some good stuffs there that will makes you even more engrossed with the game.

So turns out I completely missed the whole Eileen/whore quest line, and I'm already at
the great one reborn
which means according to what I've read that I'm too far in the game.

I love these games but I hate missing crap, especially weapons /items. I'll have to follow a walk through the next time I play it

Hope I understand what you meant!
When you drop the giant eye ball, you can go down to it where the grey mobs are, where the big cleaver and chain ones are. There is an elevator you can go down to fight it, If you use the gesture "make contact" you get a rune.

Okay guys, I'm level 61, with the following stats (skill build, want to use burial blade):
Vit 30
End 30
Str 9
Skl 25
Bld 7
Arc 10


What should I be dumping into next? I was gonna get End to 40 and Arc to 15 for Teleport and Magic Weapon but I'm stumped after that.

Depends. If you want to use it for pvp you'd probably want to get vit to around 50
