Every time I watch a good Zato/Eddie player in a GG I wonder why the hell he gets 3 or 4 high/low mixups every time he touches you...

I don't understand GG though so I'm ignorant. I hope it's not as bad as it looks.

I wonder if Dogura will take this game seriously after that loss.

More importantly, having watched 'murica's massacre we have to wonder, does Shouta really love 'murica?
1.0

<3 ya Shouta, you are the best

That was delightful. I haven't smiled so much during a stream in a long time. Though I hope, in a week, I will see some godlike Mewtwo play as well. FULL CONTROL!

'murica is going to be dead after the SCOTUS decision by the end of the month anyway. Embrace Ogawa and his reign over the nation.

I told you, GAF-GAF finals. Just the game was wrong. :-D

Also, fell asleep before Xrd and slept through all of it except for the grand finals. Oh well... ;_;

Now Street Fighter, but I'm not interested and I won't stay up for the rest of the night for it. Goodnight.

Against a good Eddie it's pretty damn bad. Eddie has always been annoying as hell and that trend continues in Xrd.

Sleep Fighter will be harder to watch than usual tonight. :-(

Every character just gets tons of pressure when they touch you in GG. Zato gets a little more than most, but he has to work harder to get the first hit off. He's not even considered the best character in the game in 1.1, and his pressure didn't change at all. Actually, I don't know if he's even considered top 5 anymore after 1.1. In 1.0, which is what they played, he's considered top 3.

It's about as bad as you think it is. They put in a bar to try and limit him but it's really just there for looks. At the most extreme he just unblockable loops you to death.

My wife just agreed to add Shuma-Gorath to our baby's announcement cards as part of the "little monster" theme. :-D

cause of Ogawa.
We also had, what, 3/8 in the Xrd top 8 as Zato players? I don't think the claim that he's top 3 is unreasonable. I think his nerfs in 1.1 are mostly fair.

It's always been pretty stupid. He used to have way more ub setups too so it was just kinda silly.

You also might be having flashbacks to the older games where Zato got full reward off of his standing overhead, 6K. In Xrd, his real high-low comes from jump-cancelling from a deep j.K for a fuzzy overhead string, or landing and going low, which isn't something he's going to throw into a pressure string "3 or 4" times like the old games (unless he has an opponent shaking in their boots hard enough that they let him reset his Eddie meter while pressuring).

lol nice

"if he makes it to winners finals his chances of winning are way higher than going to losers quarters"

well yeah, no shit :p

No, what I'm saying is that Justin will probably be his most difficult opponent. Maybe besides Art when he's playing Dhalsim. But who knows if Art will get past LPN. If he didn't have to deal with Justin at all I think he would be the favorite right now. I just think Justin can best deal with Koji's style better than anyone else in the top 8.

So you admit your initial reaction was knee-jerk, then? :)
No, they undid the one nerf that I thought was way too extreme. In the initial loketests, at least according to the translations I read, the shadow's recharge time after being hit was extended by a full second (or was it two? - I forget). I thought, and would still think, that the change was too much, because even Ogawa's shadow gets hit about 1-2 times a match. It's just impossible to consistently protect, and the character is kind of balanced around the 1.0 recharge time.

The main reason they wanted to extend the recharge time, though, was the double unblockable Zato can do with meter. That, I completely agree, needed to go. In the final loketest they changed the recharge time when Eddie died back to 1.0 levels, but extended his downtime after an unblockable to prevent unblockable loops. Outside of removing unblockable loops, it isn't a big chance to the character, so I'm cool with it.

The other changes weren't a big deal. Summoning from the puddle takes meter, but it turns out it's just -P- worth of meter. It might as well not exist at all. Puddles can now be destroyed, but my reasoning (I have no experience with it since 1.1 isn't here yet) about that acceptability is that attacking a puddle opens you up to 2S pokes into drill knockdown, so there's a risk component to it. The only other nerf I'm aware of is something about the cancel frames on Breaking the Law. I've never seen the specifics, but I understand that YCing Breaking the Law was extremely good even though I'm not very good at abusing it.

j.K hitbox was buffed, but I don't know how much. Dead Man's Hand is now better, which seems good. Ogawa landed it twice tonight.

TLDR: I still agree with my initial feelings about the 1.1 loketest changes, and I think ASW settled on a list of changes that are more realistic and fair.

I know, but what you said would have been true regardless of his next opponent :p
