Xbox One and Samsung 40in 1080p Smart HDTV for $500 (Best Buy 8/9)

The deal itself is pretty nice, but the TV seems to be fairly shit based on some of the reviews. It has a poor leg stand, fairly bad audio, only 2 HDMI ports, no audio out port and apparently app support is non-existent. Not bad for people who don't care about that stuff, but the TV I bought five years ago has more features than this thing.

It doesn't say which X1 you get with this? I'm assuming the Kinect-less 500GB model with no games?

I'll just wait another year when they throw in 4 more tvs and stock in the company

Good fucking deal for real though, regardless of tv quality.

Meanwhile in canada.... Seriously, get this deal if you dont own a xbox one...

Well thats a sick deal. Im playing on my 42 LG but in 720p, could do 1080i , but i think it look more jagged.

But wondering, is there a major difference between 1080p and 720p? Would my jaw drop?

It'll probably be the MCC bundle

Hmmm.. that would be a convincing case to buy. If it's the console with no games, I'll probably hold off still until the Christmas bundles. If there are any games in with it though, I might buy it and sell the TV.

I bet this is in-store only and will sell out fast

I hope I'm wrong though as I'm out in Indianapolis this Sunday and won't have an opportunity to buy it in store until Monday night

Samsung lag varies a lot, and it doesn't look like this model has been tested.

Good luck to our competitors.

For Xbone games internally rendered at 1080p, it should be huge (over double the pixels). Unless you sit very far away this will be obvious. Even for the 900p games you will see a decent improvement though your draw may not drop. A 720p game like Battlefield 4 will have absolutely no difference though.

Maybe I'm wrong here but wouldn't someone who just wants an Xbox One and not the TV essentially be able to get the console for close to nothing if they just resold the TV after the fact?

This seems crazy.

Shouldn't it be a 900p TV?

Hmm good to know. Thanks. Im just trying to justified if i should dump my tv which i enjoy anyway for a 1080p. Im a sucker for LG brand, so i guess i need to check out the lag before making a move.

Buy this and sell both seperately??? Shit I don't need either but it's such a good deal!

I thought about this, but you'll probably only be able to sell each for around $300 give or take, so when factoring in taxes making like $100 or so doesn't seem worth the trouble.

I'm tempted since I could use the TV in my bedroom and hook the Xbox up on a different TV. If it's a 1TB Xbox I will, no hesitation.
