Suggestions on the best division to choose at the start? I know you can change any time, but figured some may be better than others to get rolling from the beginning.

You guys think it's worth equipping your 3 main characters with decked out 30 Skells at 35 or would you just do one along with the 20 until 50? Got about 2m and looking at the price of buying 50's... it's gonna cost just a tad. I did just finish Chapter 9
and got my flight
if it matters.

I'd say Prospectors because you'll get full pick of the rewards since it continues to be the most popular... by a lot.

Pathfinders - HP Support - Recovers HP over time
Interceptors - Ranged Master - Increases the damage dealt by ranged weapons.
Harriers - Melee Master - Increases the damage dealt by melee weapons.
Reclaimers - Drop Sensor - Increases the chance of obtaining items from enemies.
Curators - Critical Master - Increases the chance of landing a critical hit.
Prospectors - Defense Support - Decreases the amount of damage you take.
Outfitters - R&D Support - Increases the number of R&D points you obtain.
Mediators - TP Support - Allows you to accumulate TP even when attacking.

Start with the Pathfinders, so you can find all the locations on the map, and then go with Prospectors to reap the rewards.

that feel when you realize you've been playing the game wrong for 60 hours. I thought probes could only be used once and have only been placing basic probes

Literally a recolor of my character. No scar, but she has a scouter right now.

Suddenly when I started wandering about in my skell I felt like I could beat the shit out of anything regardless of level, lol

probably unwisely!

Do you retroactively get the Division points for the areas located while planting probes though?

Good question. I would assume so, but let me do some research first and I'll get back to you.

Edit: Yes, you can. You can enhance your Division Points while playing as a Pathfinder, by planting data probes and discovering new locations

Every now and then I'll walk up to the mission terminal and accept gathering missions that I've already got the materials for. Feels good.

Love the visuals and soundtrack - especially Noctilum. I went into Oblivia to put a mining probe down, but I'm not touching that place for a while. I'm pretty much just grinding to level up Gwin and the various classes. Can't wait to tweak my character's voice. I love Erin Fitzgerald but her voice turned out not being what I wanted.

Once I finish the story, get content with my squad's gear, and take down the top tyrants, I'll put this gem down for good. It'll be a while to do even one of those things though.

Yeah it looks like both Pathfinder and Prospector get division points for discovering new locations, wth the following differences:

Pathfinder:
-Division points from planting data probes
-HP Support effect

Prospector:
-Division points from mining precious resources
-Defense support effect

Based on that, it seems the pathfinder has an easier time racking up division points since you would be planting probes while exploring. Then it comes down to whether you want to play more like a Paladin or Tank I guess? I'm not sure which works out better at the beginning.

Edit: Wait, what's this about rewards now? This changes everything, I think?

Stumbled into the quest that lets you redesign your character. After messing around in there again, I actually kind of wish I could save a layout or two. I like her current appearance and would want to go back, but I also kind of want to do something completely different and ridiculous just for a while. Obviously I could just remake her, but it'll never be the exact same colours and everything.

Wait, there's
another alien race besides the Ganglion, Samaarian, Definians, Orphe, Ma-non, Marnuck, Prone, Wrothians, Milsaadi, Qlurian, and Ganglion?!

Also, can you ever recruit the
Marnuck
to join NLA?

It's all about personal preferences, but if you can get a party member that can fill one role, then you could focus your character on building the other. I personally went with the Pathfinder's, as I personally like Paladin-Type classes in RPG's, and the transition worked in my favour.

I fucking love CAAAAWWW's spreadsheet. I had a bunch of normal missions with only like one or two items missing. Feels good banging them all out in quick succession. I swear, some of these are a right pain in the ass...

Some Chapter 8/9 Spoilers regarding a question that's been bothering me:

Sooo if the flight module always fails before you do the mission after Chapter 9...How were NLA Skells flying around everywhere in Chapter 8? I mean some of it could be boosting, but Marcus' missile intercept was like 20 seconds of flight at least.

Should I just be upgrading all of my arts as much as I can at the start? I think it's time to read up on the manual, I'm a bit overwhelmed by systems and mechanics at the moment.

Weren't all of the
flying Skells in the intro either Ganglion mechs or the Ares
? As for Chapter 8, it's a stretch, but it kind of fits as
a cutscene dramatisation of the existing jump functionality - like how you never see the Wrothians be anywhere near as acrobatic as their Chapter 8 cutscene during the boss battle.

Finally had a little time to play today. It was enough to get to 30 and buy a new skell, as well as farm for some parts. I had a few intergalactic level 30 weapons drop including a crazy g-buster.

It's so comical just straight up destroying everything for the time being.

Finished Chapter 10. Can't imagine doing that without Skells and their flight module. Also got the last Arms Manufacturer. I think I'll take it easy now and just do a bunch of affinity missions. Maybe even get a set of lv 50 Skells.

Yeah. Usually in Gundam shows mobile suits without any sort of flight capability on Earth can still use their forward propulsion to jump VERY high.

I think there were some normal looking human skells at least (in the cutscene showing the fighting when the xenos caught up with the White Whale).

It's probably because they were in space. In space, there's no gravity, and flight becomes a simple matter of propulsion. As for Chapter 8, dat leg power.

80 hours in and I CAN FLY!

Feels like a game changer really. Back to the initial japanese release some reviews complained about how late in the game it was, but honestly it's clever because you have to explore Mira on foot, and now you have to do it again flying. I didn't hurry doing anything, and I don't regret taking my time so far.

Would I be wrong in assuming that farming for monster parts is a waste of time when I can simply farm Yggy for 600-700 tickets in 3 minutes?
I tried to find a full list of materials and ticket costs but found this instead:

The ticket cost for XX augs are pretty ridiculous.

Assuming you have 0 materials, Arts: Gain TP XX costs 10,176 tickets.

Potential Boost XX costs 13,920 tickets.

Potential Up XX is slightly cheaper at 8,576 tickets, buuutt..

I've been farming tickets incase I don't feel like farming monsters for their drops (like farming for distilled sap is really annoying so I'm just going to buy those) but some mobs are super easy to farm.

Hop out of your skell --> Return to skell, target the enemy, 1 shot it, repeat

What's really crazy though, if you were to only use tickets for every part of the bunny outfit (I've excluded the head because you find bunny ears in the game) it'd cost 43,509 (pretending that you didn't get the stem cells from telethia farming)

That blew my mind

Farming mobs is more interesting though, you get to see different parts of the world and you get to see new mobs every once in a while, but right now while there's ygg zero its MUCH more worth it because you get like 600-1k tickets per run, and the runs take minutes
So with that in mind you're mostly correct. When you see the full cost like that it puts things into perspective. I definitely agree that some materials can be easily gathered (for example I have my Skell parked ready to slay a tyrant for Decreipt Wing...said tyrant takes about serveral seconds to spawn though for some reason :( ) but for others by the time you've looked it up you might as well farm nemesis.

Are medium skells a bit half-assed? Like in between light and heavy without really getting the benefits of either type? I don't really know what I'm talking about, just seems like that from looking at the models in the shop.
They do have 6000 max GP which is cool for overdrive (and other Sells are unlikely to reach it as Max GP Drive XX is a 20% boost) even if Skell overdrive feels like a mess with the RNG extensions and the fact you can only get a few arts off due to long animations. Apart from that though...*shrugs*

I found curators to be good. 5 BLADE points per collectible picked up is much better than most other divisions giving 1 (propectors get 3). Outfitters might be quite good too. You'll still get BLADE points for doing anything that gives BLADE points but how much is the difference. The recommended activity bonuses are pretty poorly balanced if you ask me. There is a reason why pathfinder and mediators are usually battling over last place :(

I'm taking it slow and doing every Normal and Affinity Quest I can before advancing the story, as well as a handful of basic missions if they offer clothes I want. I'm level 33 and I haven't started chapter 6 yet, lol. I just met Dorian Caravan. Nopon with cowboy/outback hats is goddamn fantastic.

I tried to wait as long as I could but I was too anxious to get my Skell and go flying around everywhere. I kinda wish I'd taken my time looking back but obviously now I can go anywhere I want... well mostly. Now I'm going back and doing everything I have in my mission log which is damn near 25 different things at least.
