Worst thing is that there was nothing interesting in one of those caves. I really felt bad after i killed bear and explored cave just to find nothing except coin stash and some crafting material
I lit a bear on fire at one point. Its agonising screams turned me on.
Also once used a tripmine on one, although that wasn't very satisfying since it didn't seem to mind...

VNs dont need to sell 20.000 to be popular. Sekai Project was totally happy when Clannad had 8000 owners and that game has far more lines to translate than a Higurashi episode.

No. There's no planned online multiplayer.
About 90 minutes into DarkMaus and it is really damned good. It really is a top-down dark souls, as it uses a stamina system and has a similar battle system.. In the little I've played it seems pretty deep as far as customization goes, you level up and can put points into weapon skill/magic or the normal character stats.... Each weapon has a primary/secondary functions, weapons can pierce or slash and enemies are weak to one or the other based on their armor.. being in a narrow space you want to use piercing attacks like in souls, etc.
The visuals are really good at having that oppressive atmosphere the souls games are known for and have a very minimalist art direction. The shadows/lighting in the game is really cool.
The game has interesting enemies like giant spiders that turn into a dozen little spiders when you kill them, environmental dangers like spikes on cave walls that can hurt you, but can also hurt enemies so you can lure them there lol... it's fun. lots of variety both in enemy types/tactics and environments from what little I've seen..
It's really well put together and seemed to pop up out of nowhere (at least for me)

People really overstimate the cost of those things . mangagamer is a sucessful business bringing over hundreds of VNs without needing to sell several thousand units to make a profit.
Higurashi sales are fine, and the translation of new chapters will go well too. No need to panic.

One of the best VNs on steam is selling literally nothing, Amnesia outright bombed. How's that "no need to panic". There are so many higher profile VNs that I want, Steins Gate for one, and those sales aren't encouraging, like at all.
edited: I understand that VNs are pretty new to steam crowd, and they may not even know what Higurashi is, for example, but it's still sad state of affairs.
That RPG maker game, Our Love Will Grow? Reviews are good, but I haven't played it yet, as Stardew Valley is releasing soon.
Dunno if someone already told that, but a DLC for Stasis is in the making.

But its true that VNs dont need to sell much. If SP is overwhelmed by 8000 sales of Clannad, why would 6000 sales of Higurashi 2 be bad?
Another thing about Higurashi is, that it has how many episodes? 14? I think people wait till at least one arc is out till they buy it.
The sales are fine. If mangagamer couldnt do profit on releases with <1000 units sold they wouldn't even exist right now lol, thats how they operate.
The games are niche, and they make a profit. There's zero you need to panic about , Steins Gate is coming, Danganronpa is coming too and that will sell a shitton.
Sometimes I wish steamspy wasn't a thing because now everyone thinks if a game doesn't sell 100k it can't be sucessful or profitable.
because Higurashi is very good. I'm not saying that 6K is bad for mangagamer, as I don't know, I just say that for one of the best VNs on steam that's not much, is it?
yeah, hopefully people are waiting for other episodes to be released, we'll see.

Because thats actually the normal sales for a VN outside of Steam. You could check out the VN community thread and see what the publishers think is a success, because 5000 sold is mostly a success.

Japanese title is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni which translates into When the Cicadas Cry, but since "Higurashi" is the most commonly known name for the series they just threw it in front of the series name to keep that awareness in their favor.
But can you keep a streak going? As in buy just enough games to keep you at 666 but not so many to make you climb higher and not too few that you drop bellow Leon S Kennedy.
