Assetto Corsa coming to consoles in 2016

It doesn't look like it's hitting 60 fps in the 60 fps YouTube footage I've seen. Kind of a deal breaker if that really is the case. Even before I upgraded my PC I was hitting 60 fps on lowish settings so I would've thought 60 would be easy on PS4.

Putting it on helps a lot. But isn't that cheating? :(

You are using a controller which puts you at a bit of a disadvantage. I played for many hours with both a controller and a wheel and though the controller works, its not even near even a basic wheel in this game. Usable though for sure

It's definitely a bit unrealistic but if it makes it more playable and fun with a controller that's really all that matters imo. You can't feel what your car is doing like you can with a FFB wheel so the stability control just helps you out a bit.

Oh dear, this doesn't sound very good at all.

I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt until I play it, not sure I can handle the thought of this and NMS being a complete cluster fuck in the same month!

FWIW using aids that would also be used IRL isn't unrealistic or cheating.

Yeah ditto. I'm watching a slew of streams tonight on psn live and it looks pretty good. I'm not noticing a ton of tearing but we'll see next week.

Watching these and comparing the same cars and tracks combos in pCARS at the same time has got me even more excited for it honestly. Hope it feels great to play, the graphics and lighting effects look good to me.

And I'm also a fan of using the real or factory assists on cars to mimic real life.

We just need sound like that in Gran Turismo, please Polyphony.. :'(

Um... I just watched that video. That sound doesn't seem accurate at all. It doesn't vary in pitch, tone and react to the environment in any realistic way.

It seems like you people just want a constant throaty sound. Not realistic sound.

Edit:
Not trying to infer GTS having better audio. I haven't heard realistic car sounds in any game yet.

Well, allowing for royal mail, my copy should be here in a couple of hours.
Also, the 3rd person view on the pc feels "off" for me so not surprised that it looks disjointed in that video.

Gfx aside, I'm most interested in how the feel of the game is, so I'm gonna try the 650s @ Brands Hatch by copying my pc setup over to the PS4 and giving it a blast.
Tbh when racing in Assetto I'm too busy worrying about the rapidly approaching next corner than 2d trees/grass. :)

I stand by my words a few pages back when I said the sound of Huracan GT3 in the VVV preview vid is fairly spot on. Two weeks ago I was at a race weekend watching the Super Trafeo series along with other series. I was on the paddock all weekend and at the pit exit for several practice and qualifying sessions.

Even from that vid it's a heck of a lot more impressive than some of my regular go to racing games.

I can't find my friend's videos he got so an older YouTube comparison video from Laguna will have do for now.

And the VVV one.

As for other cars, that remains to be seen. But my point was they got this one pretty darn accurate.

As someone who has driven a couple of the vehicles actually in the game. They are friggen spot on. Then again my memory is good it was 3 days ago for one of them lol.

Well some cars have assists that don't in real life. Thats probably what most gamers mean by unassisted.

Also as for the tearing. Its tremendous. As in easily the worst tearing I have seen in a racing game in a long time. If your not seeing it on video that is probably to do with the way the video was created or how its capturing frames. Its there and instantly noticeable.
But I doubt it will be the main complaint we hear about the console version.

Yeah that's why I enjoy that "real" setting in pCARS. If a race series or road car has them, they're on, if not, the aren't. Aka the old Lotuses remain a handful that the drivers had to have balls of steel to race!

But oh no with the tearing! That sounds bad.

Ah shit!

Ya love that kind of stuff. I mean when you think about it, its just another technical difference in the cars and it should do that.
