Let It Die |OT| F2P roguelike Dark Souls with a skateboarding skeleton

what is rank 1 or rank 2 ? nothing to do with level?

After you beat the first boss at floor 10, when you go to create a new character, you will have a new "Rank 2" tab, which has the same classes as before (can only choose from 3 initially, however) only now they have higher level caps; up to 50 I think. Not sure if they have higher base stats or not.

I haven't played much, but I really like this game. I hope it has some decent whales that help it succeed.

They need to actually get a storefront up first. I'm hoping it isn't too invasive. What's in now is pretty fine, curious as to what the express pass cost is going to be though. It feels very necessary, even with a bunch of shortcuts elevators unlocked.

Yeah I am ready to buy the express pass right now as long as the price is reasonable, which I expect it will be. Weird that it's not for sale yet, they're leaving money on the table.

If you don't have one, they give you a one day pass each day. The problem is mine always seems to overlap with the reset. So I have a pass active already and don't get another. Which means I'm without every other day.

Finally gonna give this a fair shake tonight. For whatever reason it just really appeals to me and I can't wait. I've read and watched as much as I could find. My favorite videos have actually been from people who claim they aren't having fun and don't do well, becaues while watching and coming to understand some of the systems I found myself saying (without even having played), "no, you moron, go there... you fool, don't enter that doorway... you idiot, stop mashing that button...!"

I think there's something exciting about being part of a game by a relatively reputable developer before any major reviews are available for it. I also find this business model fascinating both for a console game of any kind and a game of this genre. I hope LiD enjoys some degree of success so that others are encouraged to try similar things.

Right now I am waiting until Saturday to use the one I have, so I can get the most use out of it. Are you saying if I go ahead and use it, I'll just get another one the following day? I had no idea lol.

About what time is the reset?

There are so many mechanics in this game. Does it come together pretty well once you get going. Seems really confusing.

What part are you at? Wait till you get past the first boss at 10 lol.

It's not yet out in my region (Belgium).

It's that I really love the main artwork (modern Tower of Babel) and wanted to know if you kind of have that feeling of it being a big tower/mega-structure and not just a loose gathering of disconnected levels.

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the radio station you pick to play outside the waiting room?

Honestly it was pretty much just beat your way through until the second 10. At floor 20, you really have to start thinking about builds, mushrooms, decals and other things. It's pretty cool.

The depth is definitely more in the build options, weapons etc. Enemies are somewhat varied, but the weapons they use and such make the biggest difference. The tower and level design itself so far, while interesting, is doesn't seem so inspired.

If the express pass ends up being like $10 or less a month I think it'd be an easy sell for me. If it's $15 or more I probably won't because then it's approaching "buying another game" price, haha

I feel like it's better to put them together in one room, but I am not sure if either room is any better than the other. Defeating characters 1v1 isn't usually much of a challenge, so the idea is you want to have a Defender character up first who can take long enough to defeat that your second character trickles out and makes it 1v2 (not sure how long this timer is). Try and stack your team so that invading players get overwhelmed in this way.

That said, I wouldn't even bother setting up defenders until you have all Rank 2 or higher characters defending. Rank 1 characters are just too easy to take down, it's a waste of time and resources. Better to just spend all your SPL before you log out, until you can set up a Rank 2+ team with good stuff like machetes and assault rifles.

I put all mine on the platform first. My thinking is that the enemy will have to engage immediately. If all my defenders are in the waiting room (or the bulk are if they are split), the raider will have time to eat mushrooms to buff and heal before moving up.

I got 43k kill coins and 43k splithium for participating in (and helping win) the California vs UK fight. Being able to buy the 32k freezer upgrade in one shot was worth it to me!
Thanks for the tips!

Someone explain what an express pass is? That's one thing I haven't seen addressed in articles or videos at all.

What’s an Express Pass?
**NOTICE** We are currently preparing our digital storefront. Please stay tuned for further updates.

The Express Pass allows players to climb the tower and improve their Fighters more efficiently. After purchasing an Express Pass from DH Service, you will have the following benefits for 30 days.

1. A Limited Skill Decal with one of the following effects will be provided as a daily login bonus:

・Acquire more Kill Coins inside the tower.
・Acquire more SPLithium inside the tower
・Acquire more EXP inside the tower
・Acquire more ABP inside the tower
・Increased HP recovery rate
・Slows the rate at which equipment durability decreases

2. An increased number of slots in your Death Bag.
Every Fighter’s Death Bag capacity is increased by 10.
The extra slots are called Royal Slots and are marked with a crown icon.
If you stop using the service, the items in the Royal Slots will be sent to your rewards box.

3. Access to the Royal Elevator in the Tower of Barbs
You can use the extraordinarily luxurious Royal Elevator.
No matter how many times, no matter how many floors, you’ll never have to pay.

4. Access to the Royal Elevator during raids.
Instead of having to wait 90 seconds, you can immediately withdraw when raiding.

:D

Basic things I really want in this game.

Sort by Item name

ANY kind of stacking for materials. The metal from robots is "rare" but I have so much of it I'm just selling it. I don't even know what it's used for. My item box has 100 slots and 75 percent of that is materials lol

Edit: Is there a way to buy ammo for guns you've crafted? Or do you just sell them when they run out.

Thanks for the tips guys. Last question, do you find more success putting all your defenses on the platform or waiting room? or is it better to split between them both

Put them all in the platform first, to stall them from reaching the bank and tank, so they cant go for trading hits between defender hitting them and them hitting bank/tank to rush it down to a 50% win. Also, I've run into some beefy guys before, and since they were in the waiting room, i baited them into damaging the bank and tank for me so i didnt get wrecked while punching it myself (yes defenders can damage what theyre defending).

So how often do you come across elevators?? Because I can typically play in short bursts, and this game is NOT designed for that... You need to run all the way back to previous elevator to safely quit playing...

After floor 10 you can buy an item that allows you to quit midtower
And elevators are fairly common in the early floors

Pay attention to your map (down on the D-pad), If the floor you're on lines up with the main elevator, there will be one on there somewhere.

A lot of the floors (I'm up to floor 13) have had an elevator on there somewhere.

Fight broke out between France and Spain, I think "alright bring it on spaniards!"

Five raids later, I get paired up with a dude and every connection fails forcing me to go back to title screen. Won't let me try raiding anyone else. To make things worse, I keep getting invaded but can't retaliate. Can't spend time in TDM to avoid being invaded, can't even try to get back one of my fighters who's been abducted.

The whole thing's a bit shite.

Anz tips on which class I should choose at Grade 2? I REALLY want to take the "Collector" because of his 33 Death Bag size, but he has half the Strength of the Striker for example...how much do these stats really mean? Is there a generally agreed upon "best" class?

Starting from the beginning and going up to the elevator before Coen (3F) has been a fun way for me to level up weapon experience and get aluminum, cotton, and iron.

Got my magnum from level 4 to 18 after a few runs. The only thing you have to worry about are Haters, but I don't really have anything equipped so even if I die, I can just send another character to get them with minimal hassle.

Waiting room > buy equipment at the TDM guy where you raid. I think that's what the menu options are labeled as.

Thank you kindly.

I just found out that you can cook frogs. I tried to cook one before, and it didn't work, so I just gave up. But then I read the encyclopedia. This changes everything.

If you have the high ground on an enemy, or are above them. You'll get an icon that shows you can help on them and do a scissor kick takedown.

Just be careful trying to pull this off on the stairs. Tried to get a hater with it and hit the ceiling, missing. That didn't end well lol

Ok but you can have 4 fighters, which i already have, so i will need to remove my weakest one?

This and D-UP to target switch are pretty big gameplay issues IMO...

Can you at least pick up a "Shield" type item with durability and block with L2/R2?

If you level up mastery for the iron, the r1/l1 is a parry with a large window. It is pretty useful as an off hand weapon, especially against the melee weapons like machete. There is no shieldI have run into so far, but besides blocking things like assault rifle bullets, dodging and parrying is the way to go, because blocking still hurts.

I assume this is Bloodborne territory? That didn't have traditional shields / blocking either, did it?

Yea Bloodborne had a wooden shield but it didn't do too much, though it did help against bullets. You had to dodge or gun parry. The longsword also has a rage move that does a strong counter too. Some weapons like pick axe seem to have some super armor frames but you still take damage during it.

I loooved the shooter, even though it has low hp. I was easily 1-2 hitting npcs and haters with my fireworks gun. Crossbow did lots of damage too. Just found the blueprints for the magnum so I can't wait to see how badass the damage will be on that once I level it.

Don't sleep on fireworks guys. When you level it and you shoot closer to the enemy it can stun lock them + do aoe damage. My shooter easily killed mobs of 3-6 screamers with it.

Will be sticking with strikers for bosses but shooters can clear floors easily if you stay away from enemies and don't take too much damage.

Imo I don't think there is a "best" class. I think it all depends on your preference and/or what you plan on doing. Collectors are great for gathering materials and general exploring, but can disappoint you for boss fights. Strikers are awesome with high hp and strength but what if you run into an enemy where close combat doesn't really work? I loved the shooter it was super powerful with guns but the low hp can be a turn off for people.

I think you gotta try different things and see which works best for you.

I can't put my finger on it why this game is so fun. I've already lost myself in it for several hours and unintentionally stayed up until 2AM when I get up for work at 6AM. This is becoming a top 3 game of the year for me.

I been sleeping on the fireworks launcher largely because the first time i picked it up i didn't realize there was a lock on and trying to shoot it with any kind of consistent accuracy was impossible but i've heard good things about it in this thread. I may need to start giving it a shot

If you have any Rank 1 guys, yeah you will want to go ahead and replace them with a Rank 2 character. Don't forget to strip them of anything valuable first. Also, you can have more than 4 characters. If you go to the TDM kiosk and upgrade your defense, you have the option to buy more freezer slots in exchange for SPLithium.

Liking the game so far but 2 questions: how do you wear decals and not sure what splithium does. I assume that is what I earn when I kill a hater.

Visit the mushroom woman to deal with decals. Splithium is the currency for item upgrades for r&d, and waiting room upgrades at tdm.

Equip decals by talking to the mushroom woman, should be the third option in her menu (fourth once you collect some skillshrooms).

SPLithium is used for forging weapons at the shop and expanding the fighter freezer/money/splihium maximum capacities through the Tokyo Death Metro menus.
