July Wrasslin' |OT| All this G1 talk is making me Climax.

I was told the same thing the week about Styles the week people here were trying to tell me I, a queer fan, was wrong for being upset that he's homophobic

And the same thing about Owens the week before the audio of him saying the n-word went viral

So I'm going to keep my stance re: rolling my eyes at people defending their favs by calling them so professional and perfect, and how everything else denying that is just a work (or shoot, I forget what buzzwords yall like using most weekly)
I think when he referred to them as professionals he was speaking strictly about their in ring work and how serious they take it, not what's going on outside of it.

It's the us title and two mid carders who gives a shit

They'll probably trade the title between themselves 8 more times in the next month completely intentionally

Resorting to racial or homophobic slurs to get "heat" isnt being a professional. They said those things in the ring while working. Its shit behaviour. Unless kicking out at the right time during a fake fight is the bar for professionalism.

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
Refs have been told for years to do their job (treat it like a real sport and count, trust the competitors to know what to do and when to do it). It was entirely on Styles to kick out, he fucked up
I have no idea why people continue to believe this when it's obviously not true.

Ummm no

For the record Meltz just thinks the finish was changed super last minute up to and including possibly while they were wrestling.

That's more likely than Owens winning by accident.

Yea I could see that. That would explain the dumb ref bump that ultimately led to nothing.

AJ Styles has called people homophobic slurs in AND out of ring for over 14 years (2015 was the last in-ring use of it, but he's used the slurs on podcasts and in interviews more recently than that, it's his favorite curse word and he loves to use it)

But because the IWC loves them, LGBTQ+ fans get told "you crazy" for pointing it out and not liking them for it. Has happened to me repeatedly just here alone

We've beaten the 'what they said years ago' to death in this community for the past few months and years even. No need to tie that conversation to every single match these two have. The fucking leaps and words you project into others' mouths is mind numbing.

How you managed to spin a conversation about the strange finish to Owens/AJ into some kind of homophobic witch hunt is pretty damn bizarre.

If KO and AJ both knew AJ was supposed to win, then they both messed up there. You can't put the blame on one over the other. KO could have just as easily let go of the roll up and break the count

AJ staying after, whether real or planned, was probably a good move to provide some ammo for "RE-RE-Match"

Aj styles is a god loving cunt

Fact: AJ is a great wrestler who is almost certainly a huge bigot.

Owens is a great wrestler who made an extremely racist comment years ago.

Both are guys who are not likely to fuck up a finish that bad or go into business for themselves during a match. Owens did not shoot to win and AJ didn't not kickout on purpose because he thinks the US title is beneath him or something.

What? I feel like I've heard countless WWE workers over the years say exactly that. How refs are told to count pins as if they were real.

Unless it's a bullshit myth they enjoy spreading, which is totally possible as well.

Refs should carry on and be responsible for handling their duties correctly. If a talent botches the script, that should be on them. Regardless of the person responsible, If there is a botch, it can easily be remedied by a rematch the next time cameras are on the air. Shouldn't be a big deal, I would think.

And give Nak some cocaine so he actually livens up
Considering his feuds have been against Ziggler and Corbin, I really don't blame him.

Also apparently he's pretty banged up. So yeah, If I were him I wouldn't put all of my energy into nothing feuds that no one cares about.

This is as ridiculous as the #5years shenanigans.
Is it? Nakamura is not a mainstream name. And the hardcore audience is getting noticeably disinterested in him due to being put into pour feuds with uninspired workers. There'a been a noticeable down shift in Nakamura's name being brought up in wrestling in general right now. It's actually very noticeable.
