I'm not sure. But I know they didn't give Hannibal a single nomination for anything so they are obviously fucked up.

What the fuck, that is INSANE.

I have to admit, I did think to myself that this show will pick up a few Emmys, but now I know that is impossible.

I am now fucking pissed Mads didn't get one of those stupid statues.

I don't care about the Emmys but I literally don't see how that is possible.
Right? In what area, artistic or technical was that show not up there with anything else? And they definitely put in submissions.

So I am expecting nothing from the Emmys for Twin Peaks as a result.

I know they got some wins for the original series but I know a lot of people felt they got snubbed in the major categories.

So what do we think- are all the Roadhouse scenes otherworldly in nature, or was just this one in particular intended to be?

I'd say just this one. The only other one that was meta and somewhat surreal was James' beautifully sung song, but even then Audrey wasn't present in his (always) cool impromtu jam session with Madelyn and Donna so it wouldn't explain it as something otherwordly in Audrey's head. Other Roadhouse scenes connect to the story (particularly James and the green glove guv'nah) and show the plights of the average citizens of Twin Peaks.

The girl at the end of the last episode (or was it 14?) crawling on her knees and yelling struck me as a first-time user of the new drug that's rampant in Twin Peaks.

Was anyone else annoyed that in the episode where coop finally returns, and with only two episodes left we had to spend at least 3 minutes watching a whole music performance ?

No. Especially because it was a good performance. I think the episodes are planned as is. It's not like if they cut the song in the half they would have shot 2 more minutes of scenes.

Do the Emmys rely on an actor submitting a single episode? If so I think it's going to be unfair on Kyle, no single episode can encapsulate his full performance/s.

Unless there's an episode with particularly meaty Mr C and Dougie scenes but it's kinda all blurred together so I can't pinpoint one.
Yes but voters can plausibly make their decisions based on the whole season.
wouldn't expect (m)any awards for this though.

No

Pearl Jam is synonymous with the Pacific NW, so having their frontman perform a song - that he'd composed for the show, no less - in its entirety makes perfect sense to me. It also served to set up the Audrey scene.

It's the only scene from the episode that totally broke up the flow, IMO. Like, it just served to remind me that I think Lynch's decision to have over 10 musical performances in one season be a gratuitous choice. I'm just glad it didn't end with the song like I thought it would haha.

I've found some of the time spent this season on music performances indulgent, but last night's...nah. Perfectly fitting

If he doesn't do more Twin Peaks,. I really hope we see Lynch do another film or two. Also they need to get to work on the Blu Ray release!

It really sounds like showtime is down if Lynch gives the thumbs up.

This is uh...a nothing?

I mean just practically when a tv show/movie wraps the costumes and sets go into storage. even if they probably aren't going to make more. that the suit is sitting in a warehouse north of LA in between props from Red Oaks and a set wall from Zoo is no sign either way

I think it at least confirms that Lynch has not privately communicated to Kyle that TP is over.

It's whether or not there's a story to tell. Currently we have 25 years of the Lodge and hot Coop on Coop action. This has been (lol) percolating for years.

I'd be worried Season 4 would be like when a record label forces a band to quickly follow up a highly successful album. When half of the band has tragically passed away.

u guys think coop is gonna go into the red room forever at the end of this season? :((

that's what I initially thought Cooper meant when he had the huddle with Janey and Sonny Jim in the casino. When he said Dougie would be walking through the red door soon, I thought he meant he had to go destroy Mr. C as Agent Cooper and after that he would turn back into Dougie and Cooper would then be sent to the Lodge.

As was pointed out in here though, Kyle gives the One Armed Man a piece of his hair to create a new Dougie.

So, what the hell was up with Diane, the seeds and all of that. Was Diane actually dead and controlled by Evil Coop all the time? Also, is it just me or did Audrey look much younger in that final shot?

Also who was that guy who killed Tim Roth and the lady? Had we seen him before?

Oh and what triggered Coopers snap when his doppelganger still is not back in the lodge? I thought that was the requirements?

FWWM Part II. It's gonna be their last hurrah.

I wouldn’t mind a Ruth Davenport movie. Have Bill Hastings go into “the Zone”.

Find out why Mr. C killed Phyllis Hastings and what their backstory is. Did he think she was a Tulpa or a Doppleganger? “you followed human nature perfectly"? But she didn’t fly away, so I doubt she actually was one.

Whether we get more or not, I'm really happy we got this.

It's been so good and I'm going to miss it dearly but I don't see what could follow season three, it's all coming to a head in a way that anything following will probably seem like weak padding.

"The" NIN's performance felt tonally different as well (and the only other performance to get announced with an *incorrect* name). Nothing else happened in the Road House during that scene though so i guess it doesn't matter either way.

Finished a while back. I came many times, let's just keep it at that. Nothing more I can say that hasn't been said here already.

I have one question. Do you think ALL the Roadhouse scenes were fake/dream/a vision? Maybe that explains the weird Billy shit going all over?

IF there were a S4, and I don't believe there will be, but if there is, it'd be like 3-4 years down the road probably. The Return was announced in 2014, and Frost/Lynch would have already had some/most of it written by then in order to get the order from Showtime. So I think it'd be at least 2020.

But I just don't see it happening. It's all over in 6 days, so let's all enjoy it!

Lol Dougie shall rise again! Soon enough.

I'd watch. I will gladly take more Twin Peaks. This season has been a joy so far. Some of the best finest hours in recent television history.

That really was one of the GOAT hours of television, in one of the GOAT seasons of television.

I'm not ready for The Return to be over but I am ready for OT2

Well, I know the cast and at least one of the Rancho Rosa producers would love to do more. So I really do think it'll come down to if David does. I doubt it'd happen any other way. They'll either have an idea to continue it, or they won't.

Right from the beginning of this, that's how they always talked about it. In a 'never say never' kind of way, and it seems like Lynch had a good time making it, so *if* they have another story to tell I think it gets told.

I *want* more, but if Lynch and Mark don't have more stories in this world for us, I am okay with letting go. But I really hope they do have more stories. A fourth season of Twin Peaks would be a hell of a thing to look forwards to over these next three or so dark years, if you get me.

Edit: Oh, and a pointless correction. Looks like one episode from the last season of Hannibal got an Emmy nomination for special effects. Still horrendously shocking that they gave that show zero recognition.
