Because I do... Its weird, im a fan of both sports but there is something about the aesthetis of boxing that I love more so than MMA. MMA is closer to real fighting but i still enjoy boxing more

anyone else have similar feelings and why?

Nothing beats a boxing mega fight, but I find a decent MMA card without a huge name bout will usually be more entertaining than a boxing card with no big name fighters.

I like both but prefer Boxing. At least guys are slugging away the whole fight for the most part...I find takedowns and submission holds to be about as exciting as WFH.

MMA is too gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) for me. Basically just 2 half naked dudes humping on a floor against a cage or rollin around humpin each other. No clue how people watch that shit.

Well, that's basically my problem with MMA.

If they put Mike Tyson on a boxing card, and on the same day, they put Anderson Silva on a separate card, who would you pay money to see fight?

I like both but i follow mma more closely, i just like a more complete form of fighting.

Also in a real street fight the mma fighter literally obliterate the boxer, even if in tv it looks gay to someone who don't understand grappling, wrestling and submission game.

I love ya brap, but don't tell me you can't make the same argument about wrestling. Ever seen a powerbomb or a tombstone? Tell me how that's less gay than an MMA "wrestlefucking".

Personally I'm into wrestling and MMA; I never had a chance to really get introduced to boxing, so that may be why I'm not following it as much.

Boxing is more interesting to me..

MMA was fun until they get into the ground...

Then it looks like people having sex...humping at each other..

Yeah, there's definitely shit like that in wrestling. I was just trying to be funny because I was amazed THAT was so popular. I thought dudes were brutally beating each others asses but I mostly just see them rolling around.

Not every fight go in the ground, a shitload are stand up battles.

Look at mcdonald vs lawler for example.

I watched a lot of the free legal shit on youtube and too much of it was rolling around. Had to shut it off. UFC 1 was interesting though.

I'm a huge boxing fan, but I do enjoy MMA. I actually love it in theory. It should be (was) so much more interesting than what it is.

It's too bad the UFC is the premier showcase for it. I dislike the cage, official ring gear, glove design, commentary, the rules favoring boring combat styles, and the overall cheesy frat boy atmosphere that encapsulates it.

Boxing is overall more interesting as a sport, but watching MMA creates a much more visceral response.

Boxing is more grounded as a sport for many reasons. I had this conversation many times since I seem to be surrounded by people that come up with the dumbest reasons(fake justification) over realistic reasons(I just prefer etc etc) for watching one sport over the other. I personally prefer MMA. I have done muay thai , kickboxing, and wrestling all in the past and love each sport for what they offer and it is so cool to see the talent and use of each art on display. UFC , Bellator, and One are all so good. Honestly, nowadays ONE is the best(and has the most viewers) for all of the right reasons. The one thing about MMA that is far superior to boxing is the fact that the UFC(housing most of the top fighters) actually goes out of its way to give us the fights that we want to see. Unlike boxing, there is so much red tape and nonsense that happens and these megafights seem to be so few and far between.

Yeah, I've preferred boxing to mma for a while now.

UFC used to be cool when it was loaded with star power but it mostly sucks now. It also lost a lot of its edge with the reebok deal. Way too sterile and boring looking now.

Boxing is still fun to watch and it's because of simple and straightforward it is. As soon as they hit the mat in mma it's like I drank a bottle of zzzquil.

Yep, for the same reasons as you. If they had a true Bloodsport like mma tournament I might be more interested.

Mma is starting to become a little boring now that most fighters know how to defend wrestling and jiujitsu, and since they have to train for grappling and striking, most wont excel at anything, and when they do, at least for mma levels, the other fighters will avoid that type of fight. Gloves are also too small and fighters have become too afraid of getting ko.

I like both but the problem with boxing is that the marketing is terrible. Besides 3-4 fights that get hyped in a year they just don't care to sell it properly. WIth little buzz comes little excitement.

I like boxing better. Call me old fashioned, but it's got more gentlemanly rules. Standing up, no hitting below belt, you walk away once the other side is down etc.
If it's a real fight - yeah, go all the way like MMA to land final blow, choke them out breath or whatnot... but boxing is about as violent as I'd like to go in "Sports".

I like boxing more because MMA gets boring when they get to grappling on the ground.

But nothing is more boring than watching a Mayweather fight. I rather read a book.
