About zen 3 unified cache and source

According to Redgamingtech who is pretty much well known. On hes youtube around 21.25 he states that ps5 is using zen 2 cores but has 8mb L3 unified cache which u would find on the new zen 3 processors according to hes sources abit further on he states that there is some form of infinite cache on the gpu but its not that same as u would find on the desktop version

So if its true then u could find that the cpu on ps5 could be abit better then xsx despite 100mhz dofference

The unified cache would make a much bigger difference than better clocks.
You can see difference, for worse, than half cache on Renoir Desktop makes (the Zen 2 with a G on their name.

And of course, the same goes to the GPU.
A bit of that Infinite Cache would do wonders for RT.

Also...being driven by advertising $ and thus clicks and eyeballs drives EVERY such place to drift to FUD as it generates clicks. Being 'well known' doesn't negate that (see Fox, CNN, Twitter, FB etc etc)

You know...early in the PS3 era, and for about 3 years, I used to blog for a 'well known' website (about 10K visits a day...which is nothing but hey...'well known' on N4G)...all we fucking did was think of ways to spin news and then game N4G to try and get our story noticed. I think we broke one actual story (the FCC docs for the 80GB) in my time there...the rest was opinion and spin to get clicks.

Didn’t you know if you cryogenically freeze your next gen consoles it will improve the heatsinks as the molecules will lean up and thus result in better cooling performance... also add russ andrews £1k power plugs to get the cleanest electricity to your console. This is how vrr really works...

Trust me I’ve seen graphs and I’m a youtuber..... while your at it what fuses are you using? Have you upgraded your home circuit board for cleaner power to the house? Rdna 4 requires it.

If Sony had RDNA 3 or Zen 3, they'd of been screaming this everywhere. I'd also expect a more expensive console if they had much more advanced specs.

and Yeah it’s pretty hilarious how fans of the weaker-specced console will come up with all these crazy theories about hidden powers. I also remember Wii U fans claiming the dev kits were underclocked on purpose, and that it would really pull ahead when GPGPU comes into play.

No they wouldn't. I don't say it's true, I don't know, but I know nobody cares about Zen 3 or RDNA 3 outside of gaffers and tech hardcore enthusiasts, people care about games and the way they look, so that's what Sony shows. There is maybe 1 % of their user base who cares about the names of their hardware parts and APIs. Yet Demon's Souls gameplay demo #2 already has 2.5 million views.

That's what we should care about too. Nobody here understands how a console works. People here can't even understand how the frequency works on PS5, so no chance they understand RDNA or the way consoles work, which is a lot more complex. Hint : it's not about terafloops, there are tons of parameters changing the performance and cache is a major parameter.

If I'm not mistaken, Matt Hargett, former playstation engineer, also hinted at the fact cache was a more important parameter than a small frequency difference. It may or may not mean he knows something... It was on his Twitter.

I do enjoy the new console hype/salt but I guess being in my early 30’s Just play the games now read threads and carry on.

I didn’t know on the Xbox one x the dashboard was 1080p (who would of known) but now digital foundry told me I’m pissed off (I’m not) I sit like 6 feet away from a Samsung q80r 65inch.
Just find it remarkable the comments and threads over the years of how hurt people get over things they don’t know unless told.

AMD also uses the term special sauce but it's not what most people think it is. From what I understood from Digital Foundrys video it's really just the customizations that helps s console be a bit more efficient and punch above it's weight. It's also true that it's possible to adapt features from hardware that hasn't released yet.

Which is basically what all the rumors about these RDNA3 or Zen 3 features is about. Thankfully pretty much everything will be revealed soon. Having a die shot of the PS5s APU will confirm alot of things.

I think both will be GPU bound for the most cases. With reconstruction and dynamic scalling, this time with much better base image to work with I think people will have a hard time diferenciating the 2. Series S should be the ugly duck in this equation.

Why did you get a Samsung? LG is the only TV worth even existing didn't you know? Samsung has terrible blacks apparently and really bad Input latency! Lol

Anyhow I'm off to read about more important things like how the Dual sense screen actually is an LED screen but they haven't shown it yet cos of embargo......

I agree, but he said only the unified cache is like Zen 3 (but only 8 MB), everything else is Zen 2. That not saying the CPU cores are Zen 3.

It's not Zen 3 nor RDNA 3, don't need to be.
You know, it's all a mix of a bunch of different features, solutions, to make the chip do it's work. Nothing is set in stone, what we call "X" CPU or "Y" GPU is just a fixed set of features that the designer put together at one point in time. If they could they would done things differently, better. Just creating the SOCs of these machines is already a lot of work, that CPU and GPU needs to be a bit redesigned to be put together, plus all the additional hardware that these company who hired their work will need. It's always a possibility that they can ask for some extra modifications in some part of the CPU or GPU, and even with these modification it would still be CPU "X" and GPU "Y". People are too fixed on names/brands.

XSX showing only XONE/X360 looking games isn’t helping its case of being more powerful considering PS5 has shown some unbelievably good looking games such as Horizon 2, Project Athia and the UE5 demo.

This is what makes these rumours believable. If it weren’t for the games we’ve seen most would shrug it off.

Switch has iPhone 12 features: Wifi and a battery.
