I'm good OP, still playing Ys IX on my PS5, then I'll dig into Persona 5 Strikers on my PS5, I picked up my copy of Braverly 2nd for my Switch to play on breaks, Nier Replicant comes out in April on my PS5, Mass Effect Legendary Collection in June for my PS5, Final Fantasy VII DLC in June, Disgaea XI for my Switch in June, Kena for my PS5 in August all while keeping up with Destiny 2 content and playing enhanced BC stuff on my SerX. Oh Halo in the fall as well as Battlefield VI,

Git Gud and stop bitching OP. >: )

OP is surely talking about big budget AAA 90+ MC heavy hitters. I don’t think we would feel like this if Cyberpunk wasn’t such a massive fiasco. That leaves TLOU II (highly controversial in its own right) and to an extent Ghost of Tsushima as last big ones. If you’re only looking forward type of a gamer, it can be a bit sucky now and recently.

Luckily, I have around 10 games I wanna play from last few years and just now got a real 🎁 in FF VII remake on PS+, that will keep me occupied for a while. Intro was spectacular holy cow, I love this franchise so much.

There is literally nothing going on. Literally nothing. How on earth is this possible? I guess in May we get Deathloop and then June we get Ratchet and Clank..

but man, i'd honestly want death stranding and tlou2 remaster's over either of those.
IMO since new releases are so slow, sony should be releasing remasters because i would imagine those don't take much work like a new game would. what the hell are they waiting for?

2021 is gonna be a great year to catch up on any games you haven't gotten around to playing yet. That's how I look at it. It's also funny, going through this year's game releases, a lot of them are remasters of older games. Nier Replicant, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Ninja Gaiden Master Collection, Diablo 2 Resurrected, etc. I don't think this year will be a barren wasteland of big game releases, there are some big things that are coming out like Resident Evil Village.

It's also possible we may get something of a sleeper hit this year. Ya never know.

We are in the suck because so many people refuse to go to work. The world is slowly becoming OK with terrible work ethics.

What is the big suck? A long period of time with no new content (games), sparse gaming news, and delays caused by covid. I've noticed it with movies, tv shows and now games. The next year seems pretty bleak, and who knows how long it will take industries to recover. Just pray the few bits of content we get are good.

Indie devs...now is your time to shine.

Bravely Default 2 came out recently and its pretty enjoyable.

This year I bought Ryza 2, Ys9, Hitman 3, Persona Strikers, Bravely Default 2 and that Mario game. Pretty good year so far considering it’s only March.

I really hate that our typical next RE installment usually comes in Jan. Bummer that we'll have to wait that long for Village.

January is a great time to release new games since it's usually not much else out there. I remember enjoying REmake 2 a lot two years ago. But this year I'm sort of fine with REVillage releasing in May. At least we got Little Nightmares II in Februari.

No!

Oddworld: Soulstorm and Returnal are so close now.
I just discovered the wonderfull world of Vanillaware games.
PS Plus gave me FFVII Remake and just yesterday i saw the trailer for Narita Boy wich should be out this month.
Guilty Gear Strive is also set to release in April. <- Not anymore...

And then i have left some games on my Switch.

There are just too many games for me.

Switcg is my main console, and I don't understand people saying this. What is coming out that's so great? Monster Hunter Rise (not a fan personally). What else?

And this is following 2020, which was really weak for Switch.
Wait a few more months, I think around May, June right when summer is rolling around is when Nintendo will reveal the bulk of their games for the holiday season. It’s only a guess, but it just doesn’t make sense for any hype to generate at this time IMO

Yup, glad I am back on PC. Lots of stuff I have missed to play. Wish BF6 was out though, need a good shooter as Tarkov is going downhill fast.
Whats wrong with Tarkov? I haven't played it, but I've heard some people in Insurgency Sandstorm talking about it.

Plenty of games, Indie, AA, and AAA are coming out. Plenty of gaming news, and only a handful of delays.

The only way it would be "Sparse" or "no new content" is if you only have one platform due to monetary constraints, only have one platform because of infantile console warring, or have an incredibly picky/narrow view of gaming.

Expand your horizons. Buy other platforms. Be less immediately judgmental. Try new things. These threads are getting tiresome.

Why do people on this site love ignoring games? Seems like every time I come on here some idiot is whining about having NOTHING to play.

Can't really say I feel the same way, I have never had more games I want to play. Sure, the majority of them are not brand new, but that's part of what is so great. I have a decent amount of games on PSN I actually want to play as older games to buy for cheaps. By the time I'm ready for a newer game I can usually get it for half price or less. Currently on my 110th hour of Xenoblade Chronicles DE, after that I think I might go back to my NG+ run of The Surge 2. Then I think I'll finish my Nier Auotmata playthrough. The list just goes on and on.

Remnant: From the Ashes
FF7R
Control
Atelier Ryza 2
Persona 5 Royal
Persona 5 Strikers
FFXV
Astral Chain
Beating Alatreon and Fatalis in MHW:Iceborne
Code Vein
Mortal Shell
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Assassins Creed Odyssey DLC
Dark Souls Remastered
Hades
Nioh 2
Doom 2016
Doom Eternal
Octopath Traveller
Outer Worlds DLC
Outer Wilds
XCOM 2
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Immortals Fenix Rising
God of War 2018
Horizon Zero Dawn

...

Fuck me, the only single player game I've been playing since December last year is Xenoblade. I'm never getting through this am I.

I guess for people who have a more narrow taste in games, perhaps cares mostly for AAA, and has a lot more time for games, I can see how we're in quite a dry spell. For me, this list goes on almost forever and I'll never be able to outpace the rate of new games released I want to play. The gaming industry could probably disappear and I would still have games to play until I kick the bucket. This is not even considering multiplayer games that can be played almost infinitely with friends.

People who say that there's "no new content (games)" are insane. There's no free time to play all the good games, you retards. 2021 will be awesome, as was 2014 and other "disappointing" years.

I’ve never in my life been able to play every great game and be left twiddling my thumbs for a new release.

I just got around to beating Spider-Man and can jump into like a dozen different games in my backlog like yakuzas, kingdom come deliverance or god of war.

Great time for an older gamer like myself, I never have the time to play everything I want to with work and kids so I miss out on a lot of content that a few years ago I had time for . So whenever we get a lull like this I get to go back and hammer out a few of those games that missed out on or when things are coming out back to back. Also I like having the opportunity to go back and revisit some of my favorites again. I'm still looking forward to whats coming but if you look around hard enough you can still find there are games to play.

Warnen

Don't pass gaas, it is your Destiny!
Only delay that bugs me is destiny expasion getting pushed to next year. After what happened to Halo I was prepared for all these games to get pushed. Honestly surprised ratchet and clank didn’t get pushed to holiday.

yeah sucks if you got these new consoles looking for something new to play. Sell them while you can still double your money and pick them up later or just get a pc instead.

The phraise "The Suck" in the 1970's: Being sent to kill and die in a war.

The phraise "The Suck" in the 2020's: Not having any new videogames to play.
"The Big Suck" has a very different meaning to me

Squeaky wheel and all that. Ya know, internets stuff....

Good thing i have few hundred titles in the backlog :)
Oh goodness, let's not talk about that part. I have a long running Destiny addiction, so I have a stack of bought & started, yet never finished games, game bought on Live and PSN Sales and a general pile under my TV for PS3/360 that I never touched sitting there begging me to play....

Always tons of good games coming out when considering indies etc, but I think we are feeling the effect of longer development cycles + COVID delays for bigger titles for sure.

I know the indies need money, but I don't know if they can satisfy your big suck needs.
I don't know if you remember the PS4 launch, Sony were pushing indies hard mainly because they had no big releases at the time. I think if Sony threw people a bone they would def appreciate it.

I guess.

But I don't know how some of you get to play all the stuff that gets released. I play an hour or two almost every day and even just looking at the past year I still have a ton of stuff to catch up with:
Yakuza 7, 13 Sentinels, Hades, Ghost of Tsushima, Ori, Disco Elysium (or was that 2019?), Miles Morales, Tony Hawk 1&2 HD.
This is correct.

I challenge the premise of this thread, for three reasons:

1. What Fbh Fbh said. Like -- with all of these games that have recently come out, some of them with game time clocking in the dozens (or hundreds!?) of hours, how the hell do y'all have time to play everything?
2. There is 35+ years of video games that one has access to, immediately and right now, at the tip of the fingers. None of those games are interesting?
3. There is usually a lot of complaining about "yearly" or "serialized" video game series (e.g., Assassin's Creed). So wouldn't a "Big Suck" actually be a good thing on that front, and let some of these yearly series take a bit of rest?

My theory is that some people care more about gaming news/gaming tech than they do about actually playing video games :messenger_tears_of_joy:
