I knew as soon as I saw 1080p internal resolution on DF that the xbox warriors would be on here dissing it, probably jealous that their system has no real games yet. How else can you explain the fanboy reactions?
I must admit I was surprised it was 1080p but small studio and crazy particle effects and all the other features add up at 60fps.
I suppose they could have toned it down, made a walking simulator with not much happening and gone full 4k but why when they can reconstruct so well.
The kicker for me is before the DF analysis i didn't see anyone call out the fact it was 1080p internal res despite people watching 4k videos of the game, but with temporal upsampling to 1440p and checkerboarding to 4k it looks Sharp, the game atmospheric and fluid. Incredible end product is what matters.
So no one said beforehand from the trailers oh wait this looks bad, I can see its 1080p internal res, they said it looked great, its only after learning the metric that people suddenly go well thats crap .... " I couldn't notice it, but now I know the make up of the image I thought looked amazing, it now means its crap"
because... logic.
Even Alex has been converted to love this game, the feel, the visuals, particles, audio etc. It looks incredible.
People laughing at this, the usual suspects, do so despite the PS5 beating the series x in the majority of head to head games so far this gen.
So laughing at this and saying things like ha see the ps5 is only a 1080p60 machine is the dumbest things ever.
Despite seeing it do much more in some games and outperforming the xboz platform still they push these easy to shoot down narratives.
Again here we see ps5 loading to be 1 second or so or nonexistent.
Yet when 1 game comes out not fully utilising the hardware and is 12 seconds its.... "haha what about the ssd, cerny lied" etc.
Anyway, some of the particle effects are incredible and this game looks top notch.
