Kena: Bridge of Spirits comes out in 2 days. I've seen no ads, no marketing at all. It didn't even get a spot in Sony's state of play last week.

How did this game go from hype to nothing?

It's getting delayed I fear. Monday announcement.

a bit concerning, but i think it'll do fine. Seems like a game that will get a lot of fans, but may get knocked for some gameplay simplicity / short length. It's the studio's first *game*. They are obviously talented with cinematics/vfx and that is clear in Kena's artwork. Gameplay itself doesn't look stellar though

I mean the game looks like a standard indie game. It isnt even getting a retail release. How many of those get marketing pushes?

this was featured in like 4 state of plays/conferences. If you werent sold then you arent gonna be sold today.

Just because sony is inexplicably charging $40 for an indie game doesnt mean its more than an indie game. Shouldve been priced like hades. $25.

Its just a 3rd party indie game, self-published by Ember Lab themselves. Sure its a timed exclusive, same as Jett The Far Shore and Solar Ash. (Both coming out next month in October.) You won't see many ads for Jett, Kena, or Solar Ash. They don't advertise as much as big budget games.

Sony aren't charging $40. They are not the publisher. Its a 3rd party game. Ember Lab are self-publishing the game. Ember Lab are charging $40. Not Sony. And its among others too - Oddworld Soulstorm was $50. While Kena is $40. And SIFU is $40. Jett is $30.

It's getting quite a few positive previews but it's an indie. Don't they have Fifa coming out next week or so?

Been seeing several commercials watching American football but it's been a mix of games. They aren't going to heavily promote Kena.

The last time I heard about Kena was before PS show on IGN's stream, where it was one of the covered titles during the pre-show, but other that that Sony is doing a terrible job, at this point I won't be surprised if we get another Deathloop trailer od Kena's launch day...

Hope it’s not crap, I love the art style and that type of action adventure game play. We don’t get enough games like that.

That being said I do think GAF has unfairly hyped this game up. I’m not expecting it to review better than something like A Hat in Time.

Looks like it's being sent to die. Probably not a ton of confidence or they hope sales will be organic through word of mouth.

Returnal and Kena sales not being great is not great. I like these unique offerings Sony is investing in and hope they continue.

the game may not be that good so Sony has dropped its marketing?

Returnal was a weak concept, never looked so good and had tons of problems, I am not surprised.

It's an indie game. I think the graphical quality has tricked some people into thinking it's more than it is. Most indie games don't get a big marketing budget.

I fully expect a short 7/10 game which is totally fine with me for something that looks so pleasing.
