Haven't posted here in a while, but I've beaten The Evil Within, Doom Eternal, Bayonetta, Vanquish and replayed Doom 3 The Lost Missions and Doom 2016 since I last posted.

Today I finished Resident Evil Village. I thought it was kinda dumbed down compared to earlier Resi but I still enjoyed my time with it overall. I'm playing Yakuza 3 now and it's really good, Okinawa is a welcome change

Doing the final strech of AC Valhalla. I'm a bit rustled because I finished the modern day stroy already and wanted to complete the Eivor story as well now, only to realize that for the final area you needto have the max level of 340. What a load of shit... Up until this point it was fairly easy to keep the level requirements for the missions (only had to maybe grind 4-5 levels to be on the recommended to proceed)... Now I'm 296 or so and Ubi expects me to grind 40 fucking levels to proceed... What a joke... I mean, I will probably do everything in the game eventually but I don't want to grind 40 levels to complete the bloody story.

Now trying to wrap it up severely underleveled. Lets see how it goes...

That was exactly the moment I stopped playing. I mean WTF?!?! The game is 20 hours too long. It´s just a repetitive slog

I'm getting geared up for the remastered version. I honestly just like to drive around and listen to the 80's tunes. I'll be glad to get some of these early missions out of the way, especially this RC Helicopter one at the construction site.
Haha, awesome. I used to do the same exact thing. Getting one of those high-speed, sporty motorcycles was the best, until you crashed at full speed and flew off it (possibly dying) and ended up losing the tunes. Even worse when the best part of the track was playing at the time. 😐

Vampyr on PS5, after the 60fps 1440p patch dropped I wanted to give it a chance (PSPlus game, so I got it already). I love the atmosphere and how moody it is! Action's pretty good too, I like it.

I just started playing DmC Devil May Cry for the first time. Picked up the definitive edition cheap. It is better than I thought it would be. I'm also bouncing between Metroid Dread, Alan Wake Remastered (first time playing Alan Wake too) and Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX. Alex Kidd is either too hard or I just suck.
DmC has fantastic gameplay to it. The DLC with Vergil is pretty good too. I just don’t like the characters more than the traditional cast, but that’s ok.

I’m playing Tormented Souls. It’s a game born from Silent Hill and classic Resident Evil. Tank controls and fixed camera angles, pretty good graphics, incredibly odd puzzles, and B-movie vocals. The puzzles are incredibly odd, not even in a good way, but something about it is so satisfying. It’s like a trip down memory lane while also being a 7.5/10 game. I’m enjoying it for the most part. I actually find that using a guide for it makes the game better. That’s how oddly unsatisfying it is to solve the puzzles.

I just finished the game. The story in the last area is super short and you do not really have to have level 340. The only difference it seems to make is on how much damage you take from blows. However, luckily it does hardly affect how much damage you deal. So if you want to finish it after all, go ahead. I did it with level 296.

Went back to Far Cry after not finishing 4 & 5. 6 is a blast, everything great about 3 with all of the updates from the past two iterations. Been playing with some friends in Co-Op too.

Still playing AI Somnium Files, London Film Festival took a lot of my time in the last two weeks.

I will end up buying this game I think.

I have also started Echo Generation recently but I suspect it might get drop once Moonglow Bay comes out.

Went on a little retro tour and played both Ghost n Goblin and Super Ghouls n Ghost. Both games are disgustingly hard and I had to make use of the rewind feature to even have a chance of beating them. It's just crazy how brutal the 80s and early 90s was in terms of difficulty. These games haven't aged particularly well either. Ghouls n Ghosts is basically a remake of Ghost n Goblin so you don't really have to bother with the first one. Ghouls n Ghosts plays so much better than the original. It's kinda like Castlevania and Super Castlevania. Two very similar games but is like night and day in terms of quality and fun factor. Anyway, I usually play these games for an hour or so just for pure nostalgia. They suck ass but they are fun to relive every now and then.

I love how the MC in Devil Survivor Overclocked looks at the screen and breaks the fourth wall when he says something pleasing to the character he's having a conversation with. :messenger_tears_of_joy: . Good stuff.

Platinum'd Returnal, awesome game if you can get over the loop from the begining thing.
Started playing Shadow of War on PS5, it was on my backlog for a long time, it's nice to get back to Middle Earth.
Started Metroid Dread (it's good, but the not connected world is a bummer) and it's impossible to not compare it with Returnal, not Dread by itself, but Metroid. A Metroid Game with Returnal gameplay/ambiance/sound is all I needed and didn't know.

A case a day in LA Noire. That's the best way to play that game because it's pretty slow and you can burn out plowing through it.

Also just started up a new game of Kotor last night. It's been many years since I played it last and after last night I can see where a remake would be welcome.

Will more than likely continue playing Diablo 2: Ressurected until I beat the game on Hell difficulty. Currently on Act III of Nightmare and not blowing through it by any means, so it will likely be a while. But eh, I've been jumping from one title to the next so it's a nice change of pace to stick with just one game for a while. Looks like the backlog is just going to have to wait now, lol.
What platform you playing on? Single player or online? Tried to get on this morning but had a queue lol singleplayer has been far more reliable than online.

Singleplayer on the PC. Never even bothered with online play and had no issues. Sounds like multiplayer is real bad.

On my final stretch in Metroid Dread. Great game. Nintendo has put some serious production values into this. Might probably be the best looking 2D game I've ever seen. I can only think of Ori and the Will of the Wisps coming close to this. Dread definitely feels like classic Metroid. Good level design, fun enemies (the parry mechanic is great) and cool bosses. The music is also very good, feels very Super Metroid. Not as good as Prime though, but what is? My only gripe so far is EMMI insta kill. The parry timing is not consistent making it hard to dodge, but I feel this is deliberate, otherwise they wouldn't feel as much of a threat as they do. Other than that, it's GOTY quality.

Booted Shadow of the Tomb Raider on PS5 to get all the remaining trophies. After FFVII once again a game that looks better than Next Gen games… The new gen has been a real bummer so far, damn.

Finally started Tales of Symphonia on Steam. I haven't played the original for at least 10 years, the nostalgia is real...

And to continue the tradition of how I play JRPGs, I'm 30 hours in and still haven't entered Martel's temple. Just been abusing the free heal in town, and trying to get used to the combat system again after playing more "modern" games in the series...

I was playing Bloodborne, but became extremely bored by the hoops to collect what i needed for the Simon's Blade build. After getting it all, there was no pay off and the rest was just going through the motions since I already defeated every challenge in my first playthrough. Therefore, I will be going back to a rotation of fighting games starting with Tekken 3.

I messed around with Vergil's Downfall, but didn't spend much time playing because it takes place after the main game. I like the way he controlled.

Last game I finished was Judgement. It was a nice break from the usual Yakuza game, and the story was excellent.

I did not care for most of the side missions (cases) and I especially did not like most of the tailing missions, but being a private eye I understand why they were there. Definitely recommend.

Think I'm over my little slay the spire kick I was on. Fuck that game gets hard once you start moving up acensions.

Going through the backlog and landed on Stardew valley. Hadn't even made it to summer on my only file so I started over.

Yea this could get addicting. So much shit to do.

I bought Inscryption on Steam. It’s interesting, but it’s also a card game. I bet it’s good and there’s a lot of cool things to figure out. I just don’t think it’s a game I want to play again and again to get my money’s worth. I requested a refund. I want 3rd person action games right now and RPGs. I think people who really liked Slay the Spire will get a kick out of this. I want something a little bit faster at the moment.

I’ve been playing “Moon” on Switch. An RPG from 1997 about a kid who is trapped in a RPG world where they make fun of the typical hero gaining levels and hitting for 9,999 HP. You spend your time doing misc things and gathering “Love”. Love is a huge theme in this. It’s like breaking the mold of a classic JRPG with 4th wall type humor. Nothing like Nox.

About finished with Tormented Souls. It’s not bad, but like I have said before. The game is actually a lot more fun with a guide because it gets to be too obscure for its own good. I love a good classic RE or Silent Hill puzzle, but these aren’t those puzzles at all. They’re just meant to make you read every journal you pick up and question anything you’ve come across up until that point. Back tracking all the way to shut off the power just to get across an area was fine because they let you access a door that’s right across from where you shut it down at. Those kinds of things aren’t told to you, so it does a good job at masking the solution. The voice acting is atrocious, as in the MC’s voice could have been someone’s first gig as a voice actor. There is very little to gain except your typical Stephen King/Silent Hill type story that takes place in a mansion on top an island somewhere in the world. Overall it was worth the $19.99. I think with some minor changes and some time spent on enemies/voice actors, this could definitely make for a good sequel or something. There aren’t a lot of different enemy types, so you’re running into the same type of enemy over and over again.

Finished Metroid Dread. It's my GOTY with Returnal. Both games have similar vibes and focuses on pure gameplay, with a compelling narrative displayed neatly in the background.

Dread is also probably tied with Super Metroid and Zero Mission as my favorite 2D Metroid. It was an absolute blast to play through. Tight focused gameplay, with excellent boss battles and fun exploring of the map. The graphics and art design is very impressive and it controls like a dream. It had some pretty challenging sections but overall it was fairly easy. The final boss however was no pushover.

I'm so happy this game turned out great. The world needs more quality Metroid and I sincerely hope Nintendo gets the message and start putting this franchise in their top spot next to Mario and Zelda.

Finished replaying Other M. Got the 100% completion but I'll skip Hard Mode so I can get to Dread quicker. I wouldn't be surprised if I do it after finishing Dread. Now I just have to suffer through Fusion. Ugh.

Thx for the info. Thought I had to grind for several days before I can move on to the last area
