Gran Turismo 7 Deep Forest gameplay

Mobile Suit Gooch

Grundle: The Awakening
I have a good feeling about Grand Valley returning. Oh how I would love for Seattle to return as well. I would love to see their take on a street circuit with the new hardware.
I hope more classic tracks return. I saw High-Speed Ring in one of the trailers. I know GT is about the cars but tracks are just as important.

I think that polyphany has always struggled in the hd era, but there are high points. The cars in gt sport look incredible and the same seems to be true for gt7. But in terms of track detail and enviroments they seem to be lacking when compared to their direct competiton. Either way, ir your on playstation and looking for a good racer dont let the visuals push you away. I still play gt sport just as often as i do forza. Horizon, motorsport, and gt are all phenomenal racing series’s. We should celebrate them instead of trying to put them in some arbitrary ranking order

I much prefer real tracks but there are some amazing classic GT tracks that certainly need to return. 100% agree on tracks being just as important. I’d take fewer cars if it meant more road.

Lmao Last time they compared PS4 pro version to PC and gran turismo still came out on top. Reminder Forza Horizon is a 30 FPS game
AA8DOYl.jpg
Forza Horizon has a 30 fps mode but is not a 30 fps game as I don't know anyone who is picking the 30 fps mode over the 4k 60fps mode.

People need to stop comparing FH5 to this demo it will more compare to the upcoming Motorsports 8

Should try to stay more on track imo

The real world tracks are always better looking/accurate than fantasy tracks, fantasy ones seem to use some kind of generic assets made by PD, anyway couldnt give two shits about that.

I know what matters to me in GT and after sport im confident they will deliver

I see the same reaction to this as people react to audiophile headphones. No bass!
Bad!
Here it’s: not as oversaturated as forza? Not blingy bling with post effects? Bad
looks great. Pretty realistic. I like the new camera. Racing games cameras and sense of speed sucks…. I need to get drive club finally lol

Looks like they converted hdr video to sdr badly too

The VIEW and VENUE also doesn’t really do them any favours for a proper next-gen showcase (even though it still looks good and the lighting is spectacular).

I’m here for the gameplay regardless, though. This is Gran Turismo lol…
I can’t NOT pre-order.

Same with a lot of people who get a TV professionally calibrated (not copying settings from a Youtube video) so many people think a calibrated TV looks dull because they see TVs in stores cranked to max brightness

The best cars I've seen in a game so far, the tunnel looked super nice, and the audio is good. The vegetation looks meh tho.. maybe if the leaves & branches moved a little.

All of this can be fixed in time I hope.

I think the trees need reworked as they looked quite bad as well

I’ve got faith in there being a few more improvements before launch. GT Sport looked and sounded pretty rough throughout its development (after its reveal it kinda looked like a slightly brighter GT6) but by the time the open beta came around, it was easily one of the better looking PS4 games (with the sound being much improved from past builds too).

PD made a load of changes in the months between the start of the closed beta of GT Sport and the final release, with a lot of them being to do with graphics and stuff. It’s probably wishful thinking but if they could do it then, they could probably do it again? Hopefully? 🤷🏼

Love the head shake, but yeh not really seeing anything overly exciting about this. Lighting looks super flat especially going through tunnels where the lighting barely changes.

Very surprised that they didn’t just release the usual super post processed with better graphics replay footage. Gotta give them credit for actually showing the game how it will play for once.

I’m the weirdo that likes insane contrast and unrealistically bright colors.
I know it isn’t accurate, so when people come over I turn on the calibrated settings lol

Colours are definitely washed out. Gt7/gts comparison.

I think that's the difference based on view. GT has a "windscreen effect" so colors outside the car look different and more saturated from the in-car view. Sport has is too, in many tracks on bright conditions you almost get blinded and it's hard to see. Some people like it while others hate it, but it's intentional.

Watched it a couple of times and here are my thoughts

The Good:
Sound is hot
Interior of the car looks super realistic
Exterior of the cars look very realistic
Good looking sky
Close up foliage looks great

Not sure yet:
Scenery goes from average to great.

Bad:
Spectators look terrible (why the heck can't any racing game maker make even above average looking character models)
Foliage looks really weird from a distance, almost like stylized foliage from Breath of the Wild or something
Pop-in

Definitely not intentional. The HUD is being affected here as well.

The hud is transparent, probably that's why. The part of the HUD that's is inside the car looks correct. If you switched gt7 to an external view, colors would probably look about the same as your sport image. I'd post some sport images for comparison but I can't be bothered this late.

HUD inside the car does not look correct.

That is captured footage of my race. The view doesn't change the way the HUD looks.

I thought so as well, parts of it was rough quite awhile to clean it up yet though

Those tree transitions stick out for me bad. (Timestamped below)

Not a great showcase imo.

What pisses me off is Sonys blatant lies about this being a PS5 exclusive. At the end of every trailer this had the words "playstation 5 exclusive". They advertised it that way for a full year! It looks downgraded from the initial trailers too. I know they were replays but still they were presented from cockpit view to look like gameplay. They shoulda stayed true to their word and released this as a ps5 showcase game but that ain't happening now that it's crossgen.

Btw- the trees in the background still have a very lifeless look to them. Are they the same cardboard 2d trees as Sport or are they at least 3d? I think it looks nice and all bit it's only an incremental improvement over Sport. For this being on such better hardware and being a numbered entry on ps5 I think it should show a leap in graphics. Again though that is this gen in a nutshell isn't it. There is no leap really and there are compromises being made to ray tracing, resolution, fps or graphics settings. One of those features that are vital to looking "next gen" are always toned down at the expense of the other two. In ratchet we had ray tracing and ultra settings but at 30 fps. If you wanted 60 you had to sacrifice that next gen look to the visuals. With gt7 we have high resolution and fps but no RT in gameplay. I worry about Forbidden West cause what we've seen looks amazing but that's 30 fps. It's too bad ps5 doesn't have like 25% more juice.

I don't understand as you can say something like this when, for example, the Red sun in the Japan flag is a light orange and the flag is on the dark Shadows of the interior of the cockpit. It's pretty clear that the colour grading is seriously off

One thing I loved about GT that other games don’t do was the sense of progression from racing tuned up consumer cars to driving super cars. I’m gonna wait for impressions on the career mode.

Game looks fine to me graphically. Not jaw dropping but far from a ps3 game.

Small details like the dashboard reflection in the windscreen that depends on where the sun is shining from as to whether it appears or not. Nice touch, impressive.
Finally catching up to the competition that has done that for years. Maybe by the time GT9 comes around we'll get accurately modelled torque steer, accurate high powered RWD WOT behaviour, and a decent tire model that isn't just a grip modifier.

then it is a store treating them well...Where I go I was talking with a salesman about how to calibrate Tv and he tld me their showcase TV are max brightness (That I can conceive in a brightly lit store) but max contrast ,sharpness basically everything cranked to the top that may look only good in those special videos like some HDR videos you can find on youtube.
He even showed me in the backroom what he was using during his break in a way darker room and how it would look if it was calibrated like in the store ...My eyes still burn to this day...I felt like I met god, not because it was good but the light probably engraved the picture in my retina.
To this day I can't blink without seeing mia khalifa's face ...it was what was on screen ... a soft picture but still weird experience.

...except R&C has a 60 fps mode with RT, which looks just about as good as the 30 fps mode but at a lower resolution and with some minor cutbacks to hair/fur rendering and maybe a few other things. Overall it looks very close. But yes, of course there will always be sacrifices you have to make to get 60. Wouldn't matter if the PS5 was twice as powerful as it is, that would still be the case.
