Gran Turismo 7 Deep Forest gameplay

This is actually a ps4 game patched/ported on PS5 I have no other explanation...

On the contrary reality is on PC since long time ago

It looks good but have you ever noticed that these "ultra realistic graphics" videos are always overcast conditions?

I'm not saying it isn't impressive or whatever but I feel like it's just easier to trick our lizard brains into assuming it's super realistic because we don't see shadows and a bunch of other effects due to the restrained lighting.

I want to see one in clear day conditions....

Why does it looked so saturated? The bright green parts look like taken from Fortnite.

I guess we need to rely on small devs to show us how next gen racing should look

1) Loved the details in the driver's gloves.
2) The dashboard looks fake. It's like it doesn't have any texture at all (not in the graphic sense, but in the sense of the "texture" one normally see on real cars)
3) Trees looks fake AF, with little to no movement and colors were oversaturated.
4) Lighting IS indeed exagerated and looks like they're trying to hide something with so much light.
5) 4k 60fps is appreciated and "a must" for Gran Turismo series fans.

Honestly, this gameplay looks kinda disappointing. Forza Horizon 5 is an open-world game that still looks, sounds and "feels" better than every driving arcade game before, and yet one would expect that a closed loop racing game (such as Gran Turismo) would leave it in the dust... yet it doesn't.

What is happening with Polyphony Digital? I mean, I still remember when they supported 1080i output resolution with GT4... ON A F*CKING PS2!!!!

The game needs polishing (I think we can agree on that) because in its current state, it's nothing more than a good looking PS4 game (which is nice, but not next-gen material).

GAFs #1 source for car graphic comparisons
After watching the trailer 5 times, here are my thoughts.

Positves:
- Lighting looks really good (i thought it would suffer after dynamic tod and weather)
- Material shaders look incredible and one of the best
- Car shadows are significantly improved over GTS
- Reflections are higher quality and have less visible pop in in them
- Mirrors look incredible, sharp and detailed
- Interior movement looks nice and add realism
- Murcielago is finally back!

Negatives
- Object and trees have some agressive pop in
- The environment looks ok, little better than GTS but still could be better
- Trees have weird colors and have a bit too much saturation sometimes (could be the fault of the recorded file since there are weird colors in general)
- Still has some of that low rez trees
- Had some frame drop here and there
- Environment felt a bit lifeless

I want the same footage from the outside view to see if we can look around the car and if they finally use higher lod car models this time. But overal its a decent improvement over GTS, but we get dynamic tod and weather so its fine. Hopefully they can improve some of those issues before launch.

That looked surprisingly disappointing, but very pleasing to the ears.

Looks a bit more pedestrian than the reveal was making it to be.

Never been a big of the franchise since the PS1 though, so my critique means very little.

I'm sure gameplay and mechanics will be ace as almost always.

Yep, it’s Gran Tourismo alright. Looks beautiful as always. Just doesn’t have that next gen pop for me yet. As with all GT games they always flash it up in the last few months though so no worries here.
Looking forward to the single player campaign. Oh, and the final car list of course.
Fucking Driveclub and Motocross would be perfect partner games. Really miss Evolution and Rushy. DAMMIT.

One of the green rats
I just had a nostalgic moment think back when playing this track in gt1 I would have never thought not only would there be a GT over 20 years later but also the same tracks.

It looks good but as per my previous comment because that video is in full daylight it instantly goes from "insanely photoreal graphics" to just a good looking racing game.

Flashless at the Golden Globes
2013 vs 2021, imagine what DriveClub 2 could've been with it's still unequaled night scenery, weather, mud and car simulation
2014 but yes. Forza Horizon 2 launched in 2014 around the same time as DriveClub. DC looked way better than FH2 back then. Look at how far PG have come leaving both PD and Turn10 in the dust. Evo wouldve done the same were they given the support PG has received from MS.

Imagine what they couldve done with a PS5.

Doesn't look so hot, Something seems off. Very cross gen looking that's for sure.

I got duped by the replay snazzy visuals from the reveal last year I guess 😔

Lol what forest?
This is how you oversell and under-deliver, I thought we would see some off road racing.

Looked good but not as good as I hoped.

Didn’t like the sound. The tire screeching at every little turn of the wheel drives me crazy. Hopefully you can lower the volume on that.

I like the cockpit movement! Didn’t feel nearly as stiff as previous games. Could shake even more in high speed though. Might be tweakable I assume since some want it deactivated going by older talks.

Anyway, can’t wait to play this! Last GT I played was GT5. I missed GT6 because I had already bought a PS4 when it released and I skipped Sport since I don’t play online. I’ve literally been waiting over 10 years for this game.

I hope they have their oldschool campaign progression, start with a slow ass car and slowly grind to afford upgrades and better cars etc. I’ve really missed that gameplay and PD does this best in the whole genre.

People that keep talking about driveclub's graphics should be forced to play the game every 6 months to be reminded why they shouldn't.
Yeah it hasn’t aged as well as people think. It essentially looks good in selective scenes with specific lighting condition and weather in gifs, when you play it on a big telly there are so many areas where it looks plain bad compared to modern games, and 30fps is trash for the genre.

The rain movement on the wind screen from the wipers is still unmatched though. As is the mud splatter and mud tracks in Motorstorm. Evolution was really skilled at that particle physics stuff.

Looks no better than Forza Motorsport 7 and with less environment dynamic objects. I remember in FM7 the tire barriers can be crashed into causing a ton of deformable tires to spill onto the track and confetti cannons exploding on some tracks after crossing certain points. This gameplay from GT7 looks very static in comparison and I still don't even know it it has dynamic weather like Forza either.

It's has been like this with racing games forever. I was always shocked to see Gran Turismo gameplay after mainly seeing photo mode nonsense on the internet. This looks okay, I guess in about 1 or 2 generations it will actually look good while playing.

Looks fine. I don't think it's possible to make in cockpit view stuff look that impressive, unless you have rain pouring on the windshield a la DriveClub. Some pretty jank tree pop in at one point.

I honestly don't understand the appeal of these games at all (GT, Forza). I drive regularly, and on the California freeways it can feel like what I experience in these games anyway.

Give me Mario Kart any day of the week.
Unless you're Cristiano Ronaldo and own dozens of supercars, you can't really drive like you drive in Gran Turismo.

(If you are Cristiano, Leo is better, sorry mate)
