GT7 reviews go live in 4 hours.

What are your predictions?

From the streams I've watched it looks really solid technically however I feel like the mainstream press are going to slam the game for the progression system being either too grindy or not grindy enough.

Also I think the mainstream press having recently given FH5 a 90+ score will see GT7 as being too boring and not offering enough action packed Monster Energy moments.

So I think an overall score of 82 is where I'm sitting at.

Eurogamer - it’s not a MS game! 2/10

IGN - game is too hard, reviewer does not have driving license 8/10

GameInformer - Drive!

GameSpot - I hate racing games but I was forced to review it 6/10

Now seriously I think it would be 89

80-85 - seems like a fairly safe bet.

The only reason I’m interested in seeing the reviews is for the footage, not the score.

It being a closed circuit racer will probably get about 85-89. You'll get the usual reviewers who'll moan it isn't open world or arcade enough. It will be compared to FH5 even though they are completely different types of racing game.

My guess is mostly 8s and 9s. I think it’ll get praised for things like the weather and lighting system, vehicle modification being deeper than ever, and the lovingly recreated cars, and bringing back the fleshed out single player and licence tests etc. But there’ll be complaints that it still feels a lot like Sport (which means it’s cross gen and held back by it) and carries over the same tracks with only a few new ones.

Then you’ll get a bunch of 7s, 6s and 5s from people who don’t like racing games and are pissed reviewing the game got in the way of them playing Elden Ring.

Whatever happens with reviews I’m gonna love it though.

88 - a good solid love letter to the past, laments about is not being next gen only, criticism of some new things

I think the AI and grindy progression will hold it back from greatness so I think around the 85-90 mark. Everything else will be praised very highly I say.

80-85
Too polished, too many things to do, too much improvements from the previous installment.
Not enough performance issues.
Not enough menu Jazz.

I wonder if reviews will give minus/plus points for the loading times on the PS4 and PS5 respectively.

Removing the loading times on PS5 should equate to at least 1 point more on a 10 grade scale in my book.

It should get an 90+ easily. It is a full GT game with lots of great things new things. For the amazing sky Tech it should get high ratings.Especially in the gameplay department it made everything amazing and improved. You even have an amazing bot or bots you can drive against. If it gets low scores people did it on purpose not because of the game itself. This game for what it is an racing game with so much content great content should get an 90 easily.
