Resident Evil 4 remake has added microtransactions to upgrade weapons quicker

Thats how it starts. Im sure capcom is thrilled people like you are so willing to bend over for them.
Are you new to gaming and micro transactions? Why are you talking about this as though it’s a grand new thing or something wasn‘t expected? You don’t want to buy them.. so don’t!? You aren’t losing out, and what other people choose to do with their money and their experience with the game is none of your fucking business 😂

If there was exclusive content locked behind a paywall this would be a different conversation, but there isn’t, so you’re just winding yourself up over literally nothing.

Never ceases to amaze me how upset some get about how other people spend their money. Who cares? Doesn't absolutely nothing to how much you enjoy the game.

Depends entirely on whether the gameplay currency was in anyway balanced or tailored to incentivize the microtransactions. Certainly your enjoyment is affected by having to grind extra hours to upgrade something cause the bean counters told the devs they need to drive x-million dollars worth microtransactions.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Well... Microsoft happen to own Bethesda now so...

I don't get a sense that the progression to upgrading weapons is intentionally slowed to promote sales of this. I've bought every cheat code capcom ever sold for an RE game though. I'll check this out on subsequent plays. I don't mind tipping these fellas for a job well done.

Okay well sure. I’d agree to that. Pretty sure that was a big gripe with a recent AC game (odyssey?) but that’s just not the case here at all.

The game is full of cash and treasures to buy upgrades and weapons, if you are skipping treasures and not combining then with gems then yeah you might not have enough to upgrade your guns.

Another reason you may have less cash than in OG re4 is because here you have to keep repairing your knife and or armor if you buy that, that wasn't present in the original. Furthermore, you're meant to play this game more than once so you are expected to go into NG+ in order to upgrade all weapons etc.

Who cares? Why do so many have a problem with this? Do you walk around a supermarket shouting about the stuff you don’t like and calling those that do retards? It’s called choice and as long as it’s not affecting you then why would you care? ‘I want less choice!’ shout the morons. I couldn’t be less interested in buying them, some people must be. Good on those people they now have the opportunity to spend money on the things they want. Seriously, sad moaning people. Gonna get a refund, use the money to get a life and find real problems.
Because it can inform how the game is developed and not in a good way. If you are going to have some kind of grind in a game, what's the best way to get people to buy time savers? Make the grind longer or less enjoyable. The worse the grind, the better deal the time saver purchase feels like.

Not saying this is the case in RE4, but this is the concern.

And how you gonna prove they did that?

Provided these are optional, then meh.

It reminds me of the Xbox avatar days. When your credit could go towards getting your avatar person a new hat, or whatever.

Re2 remake is still the best modern survival/action horror games of the last decade

They sold a $5 "unlock everything" DLC for RE2 four years ago. You bent over without knowing it.

Except you didn't, because these optional shortcuts for people with more time than money quite demonstrably have absolutely zero bearing on your enjoyment of the game.

that's why there are 3 difficulty options
I'm not new to action games or RE. My first playthrough I finished on hardcore which was recommended by the developers if you already played RE4 (2005); I didn't anticipate it would be that difficult for me during certain segments. Currently on my 2nd playthrough on hardcore, there are many more times it gets so ridiculously crazy I'm being consistently bombarded, thus stunned locked with so many Ganados at once. Like the time with Mendez and Ashley constantly getting incapacitated and no matter what I get stunned locked trying to help and Mendez just grabs her and mission fails or I get stunned locked into death over and over again. Yes, I'm aware it's intentional that Ganados are a lot smarter and more on Leon by following all kinds of paths and blocking him, that's great enemy design and behavior. But it doesn't make it any less frustrating at times to get stuck in the same pitfall and I cannot do anything but fail and/or die. And yeah if I think that's bad RE5R would be worse.

Oh and I'm attempting to unlock stuff which is why I'm continuing in hardcore. I barely did professional and didn't even make it far, lol.

this is not hurting anyone some gamers want to be an op bad ass and skip the bs just like how rpgs have boosters.
Whenever there's boosters there's typically the dev thumbing the scale with grind, it'd be an interesting video to see if this is grindier than the original.

Lazy rich people

Still, that's ok. I mean, you can have anything with some effort, but not that much
short-sighted poor people are more likely, I work with low-income people and the amount they spend on shark cards in gta, v bucks in fortnite, and other mtx in games is mind-boggling,

weapons seem easier to upgrade than the original re4, so yeah, unless they make like sf5 and massively rebalance the prices or money gain I don't care if they offer them.

Who gives a fuck if Bobby was able to buy an upgrade to help kill the monster with one shot in Wyoming. It's not affecting my game in any way since it's a single player experience. If someone else's accomplishment is taking away the joy from your gaming experience you may need to step outside and touch some grass.
And why the fuck are you getting so triggered over how somebody else feels when people cheat the game? Maybe you need to touch some grass yourself loser.

Fuckers. Hope this shit gets review bombed. Scum bag pieces of shit publisher. I liked this game but i will now be looking at all refund options, and second guessing picking up another capcom game new
In this thread, no idea if serious or a parody.

Not my thing, might as watch someone play the game on YouTube. But I also don’t care and will be playing this game when time allows.

No surprise when they sold classic soundtrack and costumes and I think weapons in RE2 Remake.

I don't like the idea of selling basically something that was cheats a decade and more ago. However, I don't feel like the game's mechanics are so tedious like in other games that you're so inclined to cheat yourself through the game. I remember upgrading in AC Odyssee requiring soooo ridiculous amounts of deer hide after a certain level just upgrade your stats for like 1%.

I'm pretty sure going off past resident evils and the pay to unlock these as dlc that these tokens literally just unlock what they unlock for those who have money to burn and don't have the time to learn re4 and complete it 5 times with specific conditions. There was never any rebalancing of in game currency before, Capcom aren't Activision or EA.. Capcom can certainly be guiltily of being capscum, but I'm just a bit annoyed that there isn't a basic unlock everything for about £7.99 like the others. Saved up MS Rewards and bought those on RE2 remake RE3 remake and RE8.
Bought ps5 version this time so will cost actual money if I don't manage to build those gold coins from Sony quick enough

I don't really see the point. Getting a weapon's exclusive upgrade is easy and that is worthless because with Mercenaries you can unlock an infinite ammo magnum with ease. And that's way better than anything those coupons would give.

Exactly. In the scheme of MTX, this is arguably one of the most benign implementations, and as always it's optional and does not change the games balance at all.

Folks are being incredibly angry at a tiny thing here.

I don't care if other people wanna pay to not play the game they've bought. I mean, I could never understand it but it doesn't affect me.

Pay to win

i hate you wow GIF

these tickets don't even fully upgrade the weapon, they just provide the exclusive upgrade, so boy they are a rip-off,

Finally! Buy yourself some weapon upgrade tickets and get the Power of Gaming at your fingertips!

7fLUQ9VqxOeFbx8QoP4a8.jpeg

yeah but they won't get you the killer mullet or neon green baseball cap... or whatever ever the hell those pants are

anyway these tickets won't even alter the 4 issues I have with the balance /mechanics
1, Standard enemies earlier should go into a pain state from a single 1.0 damage bullet, 2.0 red 9 bullets cause pain state, making everything after you get it way easier
2. Leon's melee hit area should be larger, knifing enemies on the ground should cause nearby enemies to flinch
3. Melee/ knife priority should be higher, nothing worse than trying to knife a downed enemy for a 1 shot kill, but nope start swinging instead,
4. Those stupid "cut scene" hits, I'm talking about the attacks that take control of the camera and switch it to show the hit, the damage and stun aren't the problems, the losing control/disorienting effect of the camera change is,
if capcom addressed those 4 issues I'd go from excellent but not on par with the original to full lateral shift, not better not worse, but a similar but different experience of equal value, best game of all time area.... except for a certain character becoming a whiney teenager... but they fixed the whiney teenager... so I don't what to think there.
