i really don't understand how that makes me a warrior and people are saying DF, like i didn't pull images directly from them
You are nitpicking the DF review when they themselves say that the performance is for the majority of the game really solid and the game as a whole looks and runs better than BOTW.

Are dips here and there preventing you from enjoying a game?

i responded to someone who said it had great performance, i never said the game is bad.

It has objectively poor performance, doesn't mean its not a good game

Yeah, imagine when he finds out that people are selling their PS5s to play Tears

A game shop near me is selling it early but I might just pick this up digitally instead since the patch is not included on the cart. I'll pick up the physical version that they release for Switch 2 or whatever. That will likely be the definitive version anyway.

Nintendo has done it again! 🤩

Poor Starfield, FFXVI and Spider-Man 2. Zelda will be the GOTY of 2023 guaranteed.

Maybe I'm being a hater, but I remember when a 10 score from a respected publication was a special thing. Juggernauts franchises such as GTA, COD, MGS and so forth would drop their titles and we'd be waiting around to see if there was enough innovation and development to warrant a perfect 10. Nowadays it appears as though you have to do something extremely well in contrast to something new. But don't get it twisted, I'm not calling this the same game as BOTW as I'm referring from an IGN to educate my views.

We've diluted the value of the perfect 10 in my opinion and I wish things could go back to how they were. When Ocarina of Time was awarded a perfect score it was extremely deserving of it, are these recent 3 Zelda games worthy of the same rating and prestige?

That's key. They ignore this and jump straight to saying you're mad, salty, or hating on the game.

I'm buying this game day one, yet sharing my opinion on the state of reviews.

You know, im not a huge fan of Zelda or some Nintendo ips, but they always deliver what people really want: VIDEOGAMES.

Don't need political or "bubble" agendas, or movie-like games, just pure and great VIDEOGAMES.

Congratulations Nintendo, u deserve!

I have opinions on BOTW cause i actually played it but i will not give one on TotK unless i played it.

To me, the people calling me a warrior, just makes them a warrior for ignoring the facts presented.

how come it doesn't interest you mate?
I didn't enjoy the first one very much. This one seems to double-down on that game, and adds in even more stuff that I don't find interesting. I don't enjoy games that rely on player creativity (one reason why Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts was so disappointing). This is, quite simply, not a game for me.

About two years before Breath of the Wild was announced, I was playing Twilight Princess and was inspired to make a post on Reddit that detailed what I thought would make a great Zelda game. I can't find the post, but it was basically along the lines of, "Open world, various weapons to find throughout the land, big emphasis on story and characters, with voice acting, lots of side-quests, etc..."

Playing Breath of the Wild felt like a monkey's paw for me. Open-world? Check (but it's mostly empty). Various Weapons? Check (But they all break after a couple of uses). Emphasis on story and characters? Not really (and the story that is there is completely uninspired and uninteresting). Voice-acting? Check (but it's terrible and is in service of a boring story). Lots of side-quests? Not really (and what's there is pretty boring).

I think Breath of the Wild might be the most overrated game of all time.

That DF video actually convinced me. Inconsistent and/or bad performance is always my biggest gripe with Switch games and it seems like they managed to tighten it up to be quite solid.

After D4's final beta I'll probably make Zelda my primary game until D4's proper release.

30fps is LOW, thats why. Anything under 60fps in 2023 is trash with the tech we have today. How they can give a game perfect score when it's technically underperforming just goes to show how biased reviewers are. They should deduct atleat 1 point from the performance alone.
I've never had a problem playing games at a stable 30fps. The PC snobs started this games games are unplayable at 30fps nonsense.

It’s so bizarre how some people here seem disappointed that this game is great.
It’s an incredibly open sandbox of creative potential. If that’s not your thing, ok, but why would you hate that? Why would you want a game with that ambition and focus to fail? It’s wild.

Anyone in the UK get a dispatch email from The Game Collection yet? Been sitting on preparing for dispatch all day.
Same. Not worried though, loads of UK companies now use 24/7 currier services. Most of the time I get a notice that it’s going to the local depot at like 2am, arrives at 5am, out for delivery by 10am and arrives a couple of hours later.

Build you entire personality around Sony’s games reviewing better than Microsoft’s and then feeling inadequate when Nintendo does the same to them.

Twilight Princess (on the Wii) has waggle controls. Skyward Sword definitely did not.

Well there's your problem. You can't waggle your way through fights in SS
But that's even worse. At least in Twilight Princess you could reliably swing your sword, even if it was stupid. In Skyward Sword you had to be accurate, and being required to do accurate swings with the Wii controller was awful.

Think the game is so vast in scope and ambition that all reviews out today are really first impressions.

We.wont know how good it really is vis a vis BOTW for a few months at least...

We've diluted the value of the perfect 10 in my opinion and I wish things could go back to how they were. When Ocarina of Time was awarded a perfect score it was extremely deserving of it, are these recent 3 Zelda games worthy of the same rating and prestige?

Link's Awakening was my personal second favorite Zelda game of all time. Its remake is near perfect, aside from some minor performance issues. Gorgeous art direction, adds and fixes a few issues, and still keeps the same unique and odd setting and attention to detail.

BotW revolutionized open world design for many with a focus on player creativity and freedom. It broke free of the shackles of the Ubisoft formula that even Sony has failed to break free from. It also allowed Elden Ring to follow in its footsteps, so you know. Bonus points.

ToTK is BotW 2.0, yes. But it fixes everything that people had problems with. The durability system, lack of dungeons, the "empty" feeling open world, more player creativity with its fuse system. It is a near perfect sequel. It's open world is so massively different and unique compared to BotW that anyone who claims they are "the same map" and act like things haven't changed clearly haven't played the game. It is akin to FarCry 4 and FarCry Primal in that, yes, it reuses the same general map, but it is unique with only a handful of similar looking locales, but the way you interact and move through it is far different.

But that's even worse. At least in Twilight Princess you could reliably swing your sword, even if it was stupid. In Skyward Sword you had to be accurate, and being required to do accurate swings with the Wii controller was awful.

You can reliably swing your sword. You just have to take the two seconds and use your brain to swing it in the proper direction. It isn't rocket science and 4 year olds can do it.

Wow, I was so wrong on the scores I expected this to get lol
That’s good, though — this thing just keeps getting better and better. I just reached my first temple after a ridiculous amount of time doing sidequests and getting distracted by random shite, and I’m already enjoying it more than anything I’ve played since Elden Ring. I love playing around with the Ultrahand lol

SS used Wii motion plus which is more accurate in catching the player movement. I don’t remember the controls being an issue at all.
