I seriously have enough to play that even waiting generations isn't that big a deal. I missed the window when the game was a cultural zeitgeist due to life priorities, followed by Gran Turismo taking almost all of my gaming time. Now it's just in my backlog as something I'll get to eventually. If an update is coming, I might as well wait for it to experience the best possible version I would have access to. If someone told me no update is coming, I'd have played it a lot sooner. RDR 1 was one of my all time favorites and the only Rockstar game I saw through to the end. But I'm never in a rush to play games if there is no one still talking about it. It is a lifetime hobby after all. So...

RDR2 getting remasters is a matter of when not if. The game is still always inside the top 20 in multiple countries and all other Rockstar games end up getting remasters. It would be weird if their 2nd best selling game in history didn't get one.

It will eventually i just wonder if it will be this gen or not. Im so pissed they've made us wait this long on console to be able to play at 60 fps.

They could've patched it and still released a remaster and the remaster still would sell bucket loads.

I hope they would add some of the current gen tech from GTA 6. RTGI could do wonders for that game! Given they don't need to do any of the crazy crowd simulation, even 60 fps with RTGI might be feasible on pro.

It's one of the best non-RT looking games as far as lighting goes. I'm not sure there would be that much difference wtih RTGI, especially not outdoors where most of the game takes place.

Depends on time of day and location. Out in the open in broad daylight, sure. But shaded areas under trees, caves, late evening, cities...

I mean.... this is nowhere near how good this same shot could look if they had multibounce RTGI.

It actually came with two discs. One was the data disc... But that means it's 100% complete.

Im thinking of buying rdr2 on sale on psn in case this happens and has an upgrade path ....it's $12 ...would still suck if it doesn't happen even tho its only 12...I should just buy it, want to play it on Pro

If I am remembering correctly, Rockstar has never done a free or discounted upgrade path for any of their console upgrades / remasters for owners of the older version. I think the most they did was a limited time discount for the PS5/XSX releases of GTAV regardless of whether you owned the old version.

Buying RDR2 on sale on PSN right now without the intention to play it right away COULD literally be a waste of money.

These prices were for anyone irregardless of if you owned GTA5 on PS4/X1. After the discount period it became $40 flat rate.

FWIW the chances someone was buying GTA5 on PS5 for $10 for the first time without ever owning it was probably super slim. So functionally it was a $10 upgrade fee but technically it was a flat price for everyone.
