Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch 2 Edition & Update 3.0 announced

I did, res boost, mouse support and 'up to 12 players" is not really enough for 5$ upgrade from my perspective. I mean that's expected from the extra horse power the console offers
The games that received free upgrades have nothing new added… BTW… is $5 dollars… some of you are crying for 5 dollar? 🤣

Finally new update. Time to visit my villagers, hope they are not mad after 5 years.

But why still no new (old)tropical fruits and greens? Wanted to give the final touch to my island

30fps still on Switch 2?

Frustrated World Cup GIF
That sucks.

no one got a proper 60fps mod working for NH on yuzu or ryujinx in the 5 years this game has been out... the game logic/speed is tied to framerate and it'd be a hell of a lot of work. Still sucks.
I was reading something about this, 60fps is almost impossible without rewriting the whole code of the game.

I for the life of me can't get this game to click with me

Might try again but I've struggled in the past to get into this game. On the surface it seems like something I'd like, I like Stardew Valley a lot, I like collecting, etc but in practice I struggle to have fun
I put in so much time decorating my island etc...... And this new update will bring me back in, although I did put out some Halloween stuff a few weeks ago.

The game runs better on the Switch 2. My islang chuggs quite a lot on the original hardware, in particular scrolling from side to side. However if you own an LG set you should disable the ALLM mode, on the Switch 2's display settings. As this setting disables LG's smooth motion settings, So it's not always a performance issue if you can't get this runnibg smoothly on the Switch 2.

The Nintendo direct video seemed to stutter when the gameplay was moving to the side.

If I was still into this game I'd definitely get the upgrade. The new Fantasy Life game was more enjoyable to me, though.

I might have a hard time jumping back into this, but I'd still be interested in a new one. Especially if it's 60 FPS.

I honestly never noticed that AC was a 30fps game. I guess that's because it moves so slow.

Anyway, this is a baller update. I'm way past my New Horizon days, but maybe I'll give this a boot.

Switch 2's amount of Switch 1 remasters surpassing Switch 1's amount Wii U remasters was definitely not something I was expecting.
They should just call it "Remastered" and charge you $70 for it, it is working on PlayStation
They charge you $10 for them, but you already knew that.

I'm a huge Nintendo Fanboy but they are not going to move consoles off store shelves with an endless stream of moderately upgraded switch 1 games.

Yes, finally they are bringing back in-game Nintendo classic games playback. If they are smart they can use the same titles you already downloaded with the same emulator the system has downloaded (something they can embed basically in other games provided they have the right entitlements or something).

Now do brand new first party games and compare those.

The point went over your head.

The point is Nintendo is using Switch 2 upgrades as additives or bonuses, not as crutches due to the lack of games like Sony did. Look at Sonys new first party output the moment they started remastering ps4 games.

PS you left off Hyrule Warriors. It's as much a first party game as demons souls, Returnal, and sackboy (all of those games were made by non-Sony owned studios at the time just like how Hyrule Warriors is made by a non-Nintendo owned studio).

There was not any point.

Sony published 8 new first-party games in the same year they released the TLOU2 and HZD remasters.
You mysteriously left out a three year period in between.

And there was a point. It's not my fault my point proves you're a clown.

They literally had Sackboy, Demon's Souls and Miles Morales on the same launch lineup with Spider-Man Remastered. Nintendo, on the other hand, published more remasters (BOTW and TOTK) for the Switch 2 launch than new games (Mario Kart World).
In 2021, they released Destruction AllStars, MLB 2021, Returnal and R&C Rift Apart besides the GOT and Death Stranding remasters.
In 2022, they released GOWR, HFW, TLOU Part I, MLB 2022 and GT7 on the same year as the Uncharted collection.
In 2025, they released Death Stranding 2, Yotei, Lost Soul Aside, Midnight Murder Club and MLB 2025 in the same year as Days Gone Remastered.

BTW, are you Scrawnton? lmao

Yup. It isn't something I hide.

And you goal post moved to launch day because you know what I said was right. Sony used remasters as a crutch for their weak as hell droughts and Nintendo treats them as bonuses alongside new games.

You came here pumping your chest trying to make Nintendo look bad with their Switch 2 editions but you ignored how Nintendo is also outdoing Sony in NEW GAMES alongside those remasters. So you can kindly take your console war somewhere else.
