Obligatory

But for real it's cool I already own the game so I don't have to actually buy it again. Game was already good on Switch 2 with just better load times and whatnot, so good to see actual performance gains.

Is it a complete new release or is there are upgrade path if you already own the game

Free if you own the anniversary edition I think so. 🤔

Btw is it true that the game will have Dlss support??
Really curious about that.....

Oblivion remaster struggles to run properly on modern consoles. I played the XSX version and both performance & stability were dogshit.

I finally got a switch 2 on Sunday, was looking yesterday to see if Skyrim had an upgrade for it and was sad to find there was not..
and then bam.. this.
I had the original Skyrim release not the anniversary (it's been a LONG time since I touched my switch) so I had to pay $20 to upgrade it.. but then this was a free upgrade to that.

Early reports sound like this is a half assed port. Too bad. This game should be running at 1080/60 in handheld and 1440/60 docked. Pretty obvious Bethesda/MS just wanted to get this out in time for the holidays.

Before someone starts, no it is not the most supported game ever. Though it is supported a good amount. Same with Doom.

Wondered why they were dumping it out 2 days before the game awards but if it's a shoddy port that would explain it.

"Optimized performance."

That better not mean a more stable 30fps. God damn running this at 60fps feels like retro gaming in 2025. 30fps is laughable.

That's definitely what it's looking like.

Not sure who this guy is, but it popped up in my YT recommendations.

This has me thinking that Fallout4 on Switch2 is going to be similar.

"It just works". They still haven't fixed the bugs that are in original Skyrim 2011 release, lol.
This, so much fucking this. Without mods, every re-release still contains bugs that were there day 1, and only rectified by mods as Bethesda doesn't seem to give a fuck. But hey, there are improved god-rays and fishing or some other shit. It would be amusing if it wasn't so blatant at this point.
