Skyrim Switch 2 Update 1.2 Notes

Features:
  • Added a 60 Hz mode under Display settings that allows players to toggle between "Prioritize Visuals" or "Prioritize Performance".
  • In addition, frame rate has been locked at 30 Hz in "Prioritize Visuals" mode for smoother gameplay.
Crashes and Performance Fixes:
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when reading "The Crimson Dirks Vol. 4" book for the "Tilted Scales" quest in German.
  • Fixed an audio-related crash.
  • Fixed a crash, infinite load, and game freeze that sometimes occurred when rapidly selecting "Load" multiple times in the pause menu.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when the "Transmute Ore" spell was repeatedly cast outside of the Haltered Stream Camp.
Improved FPS performance drops that occurred in the following locations:
  • during the Hide and Seek quest in Kynesgrove
  • during combat at Secunda's Kiss
  • when discovering the "Drelas' Cottage" location
  • when engaged in combat with a giant at the Talking Stone Camp.
Visuals Issues Fixes:
  • Viewing water planes from a distance or within menus caused them to shift up and down.
  • Distant aspen trees appeared with a blue tint.
  • Transitioning out of caves caused an outline of the entrance to linger during the fade-to-back loading screen.
User Interface Fixes:
  • Switching between mouse and controller mode while in dialogue or the Help menu, caused different options to be highlighted.
  • Switching between mouse and controller mode while in help menus or user hints, did not dynamically update callout prompts.
  • The "Ready/Sheathe" option was missing from the Joy-Con 2 Mouse Controls menu.
  • The "Delete" prompt remained grayed-out within the Load menu when swapping between mouse and controller mode.
  • Deleting a save in the Save/Load menus reset the highlighted selection to the top of the menu list.
  • While in mouse mode, the cursor remained stuck within a smaller section of the screen when changing between docked/undocked modes or interfacing with GameChat.
Controls Fixes:
  • The "Eagle Eye" Archery perk remained active after switching between mouse and controller mode.
  • Holding down the Right Joystick while reassigning a button caused that button to disappear from the Controls list.
  • The Joy-Con 2 controllers provided haptic feedback while in mouse mode.
  • Buttons became unresponsive when controls were remapped while moving the Joy-Con 2 controllers in mouse mode.
  • Rotating the map in mouse mode was slower and less smooth than in controller mode.
Audio Issue Fix:
  • Scrolling SFX continued to play while holding up or down on the Left Joystick or buttons at the top or bottom of the Save/Load menus.
Localization Fixes:
  • "Amiibo" appeared as plural in Spanish.
Miscellaneous:
  • Added new translations for the features listed above and UI updates.
  • Updates were made to the game credits.

This game got re-released so many times and yet I never played it once and I don't think I ever want to.
You people are the reason they keep re releasing the game.

Please ffs play it so i can get a new elder scrolls game. That fucking CEO will never stop until everyone on this planet buys one of the releases

Well the Nvidia hardware that it's based on is from 2019 I thought?

How's the modding though? I don't think I could play it without my cheathappens at minimal lol but can't see myself getting a switch 2 even in a joke world lol

What Skyrim on PC (and consoles quite frankly) needs is a patch that allows the framerate to go about 60. Even 120 is better than the garbage we have now. It's beyond retarded that they can't fix the game so that it can run above 60.

Wtf, Todd.. Where was this update for PS4 players years ago?! We know it's more than capable, as there is a certified mod for it.

Run back to your hole and make TES6 good.

This game could run on a toaster at this point, how did it not launch with a 60fps mode in the first place? 😅

Running on a toaster doesn't mean it will actually work.

Remember that the Switch version has as much glitchs/bugs as any other version.
Now Doom, thats one that justify the title of running on everything.

Thank god you did not. I played and honestly regret it, wish I hadn't. The only thing positive I got to say about Skyrim is that mods are actually fun.

Why do people have to say something like this? It clearly needed work, do you think anyone wants to launch a game that is not sufficiently optimized?? You people are weird.

I am saying this because even a nintendo switch should be able to run Skyrim at 60fps because its a very old game that it's easy to run at that framerate. The fact that it didn't have 60fps is puzzling

Its just an opinion thought, there is no need to be so dramatic man

The short answer is it was a quick and sloppy port of the Switch version.

The PS4 and PS4 Pro versions don't run at 60fps. So many people thought Switch 2 wasn't going to run at 60fps.

So this is on Bethesda being lazy then. There is no excuse
360/ps3 was a gen hardly anything ran at a solid 30fps so on ps4 and ps4 pro developers hardly cared about 60fps. now with this gen 60fps is the most demanding they will lower settings as much as possible to get 60fps even on weak machines.

I dont know the behind the scenes but it very well could be a Crysis situation that ran like crap on multicore CPU's because the game was still optimized for at the time dual cores, even today the first crysis classic release does not use more than 2 cores.

Even on pc a heavy modded skyrim struggles with getting between 60-100 and that's with brute force of hardware thats like 10 times more powerful than the switch 2.

Bethesda being lazy plus Switch 2 is more capable than PS4 pro.
ps4 pro is running the game full 4k you think they can't lower resolution and get 60fps then you really have no clue to what you're talking about. basically every port that we can compare to switch 2 runs higher resolution then switch 2 on ps4 pro but keep spreading fud.

God why play a Bethesda RPG on a console where you can't download 200 GB of mods to try to make it fun.

I bought this damn game on the PC, and again on the switch and I'm just fucking kicking myself for getting fooled twice.

honestly, it they just added mobs to the endless fields in their grass emulator it would be fu... nope god damn it the combat sucks, shooting sucks, spells su...

this game just fucking sucks... now at 60hz

NOPE NOT AGAIN lol

you are talking about muchh lower resolution and settings, so its not like switch 2 is running the same settings or near at 60fps.
