Let's go back to bits (?)What is "news" these days. I want to go back to not knowing what framerate even is.
Haha, no that's too much. I mean w/e it's just when I see nintendo gamers obsessing over frames, it must mean we came a long way. We're all enlightened elitists now.Let's go back to bits (?)
Yeah but folks with VRR displays can mask a lot of those dips to the point it's not a massive issue,You can't say the same about S2 when in dock, only in handheld mode can use VRR. Also the Ps5 version will look a step above with a cleaner frame rate. The PS5 version of RE9 will probably not be a stable 60fps, I think this is par for the course afterRE8 andRE4R.
Edit: Except if you use the blurry af Framerate mode and even then it still drops some frames in big fights or on explosions.
It seems like it runs 900p unstable 60fps like ps4 version while ps4 pro runs this at 1080p solid 60fps. pretty concerning for RE9.
I pixel counted one scene in the RE9 demo on S2 and got a 480p resolution. I expect combat gameplay will waver between 40 and 50 most of the time.It seems like it runs 900p unstable 60fps like ps4 version while ps4 pro runs this at 1080p solid 60fps. pretty concerning for RE9.

Capcom really should start supporting 1/3 120Hz modes i.e. 40 fps.
For comparison sake - Resident Evil Village stats from VGTech:

It will run in cinematic mode, exclusive feature.I wonder how RE9 will run once you're not in small corridors.
Since seeing this thread I was curious what Village does on steamdeck natively with all settings on high and no ray tracing, and it wasn't good lol. 20-30FPS.

Just today, under a YT video on the RE 7 Gold Edition for Switch 2, I saw a comment asking if S2 is weaker than the PS4 Pro.Ps4 pro pretty much wins in every game its between a ps4 and ps4 pro.
Do people still no understand that Switch 2's FLOP's are the fake inflated double counted variety owed to theoretical simultaneous FP32/INT32 calculations (which don't actually exist in the real world). It's actual compute is half the 3TF paper specs + ~20-30%. So ~2TF's in docked mode and ~1TF portable mode if you want to directly compare it to PS4's, Xbox's, or PS5's FLOP's. It's "modern architecture" was designed 7 years ago, and games/engines actually have to use the newer features to see any meaningful gains. Switch 2 is for all intents and purposes a base PS4 with some very limited machine learning (woefully inadequate for DLSS based on it's current catalog/evidence) and slightly more modern feature support.
so far we have so many games that show pro is much better but they won't admit it. instead of comparing games that are out on both they will use well this game did not come out on pro because pro could not run when the game, when in reality many games that could run on ps4/pro are just skipping cause they are 13 year old systems, and no longer a priority. And three different people responded: 'No, it's not'...
It's gonna take a lot of time for Nintendo faithful to understand that in graphics performance, it is PS4 < Switch 2 (PS4.1-PS4.3 equivalent) < PS4 Pro (PS4.5).
There hasn't been even one AAA game where the S2 was better in all three areas: graphics settings, image quality, framerate.
And it has already been almost 9 months since its launch, so really plenty of time to prove the claimed power of the device.
I hope the rumors about RE2R, RE3R and RE4R coming to Switch 2 turn out to be true.
For Capcom, Switch 2 is clearly not just an afterthought (Pragmata looks and runs well considering the hardware), and the more high-quality ports, the better.
Some people definitely need more proof and I hope they get it, because right now, for them, somehow - 'Hitman port ain't doing the S2 justice', 'Cyberpunk port (Nvidia's poster boy game) ain't doing the S2 justice', 'Hogwarts port ain't doing the S2 justice', 'Elden Ring (even though, when it is finally released, thousands more man-hours will have been spent on its optimization than on optimizing it for other platforms) won't be doing the S2 justice'.

Just like the "solid 60fps" RE8 PS4 pro?
Cyberpunk 2077 lol
What's the point of having "settings" when PS4 pro is not even able to pull in assets, it looks 1 gen behind Switch 2

DLSS less banding artifacts than CDPR's TAA, fine details like rain resolve much better, nowhere near the SSR grainy shimmering artifact. Nearly every scene with details in parallel with the camera view will be shimmering even when not moving. CDPR's TAA is not even close to DLSS here. For even lower resolution output it looks better than PS4 pro.

The alleyway, 4 vs 4 gunman. PS4 not cheaping out and getting free FPS by not rendering huge portions of the scene like in car scenes
ps4 pro is a stable 60fps. switch 2 is running like base ps4 based on the fps test i posted it's dropping fps basically just by moving the camera.Just like the "solid 60fps" RE8 PS4 pro?

Who has ever said that
You're confusing your imaginary arguments with your little buddy subzero who was arguing that CDPR and Cyberpunk 2077 are nothing special, CDPR not a technical reference (LOL, the first open world AAA path tracing game, they're not good technically!)
And here comes the clown again with Elden Ring, which is the epitome of spaghetti code that defies all hardware, but still being evaluated before release
what you talking about? RE games are pretty solid 60fps on ps5/series x.Neither will be any of the other consoles. Still going to get it for switch 2![]()

Sounds like someone is butt hurt their ps4pro isn't getting re9, the level of cope and kids throwing their toys out the pram made me think I was on gamefaqs for a second, weird, can't wait for the preload of my ps5 pro version later this week, probably picking up the switch 2 triple pack as seems a decent value for money package

Sonic x generations just drops the resolution to 720p get 60fps and sonic racing crossworlds is the switch 1 version according to DF so not really a proper comparison. really no reason these games shouldn't have a 60fps option, other then sega not caring for those ports but you can't blame them on system thats 13 years old.Switch 2 does eke out wins in a few games. Sonic x Shadow Generations, Sonic Racing Crossworlds and a few others come to mind.
