I give it a year, maybe a year and a half. I think the game really got a bad rap being set up for the hate-train before release, but even after release it frankly looks confused as hell about what it wants to be with most claiming performance is middling to bad. Possibly the hate-train accidentally started by Geoff saved this thing from total obscurity and a shorter life cycle just by dragging it into the spot-light.

No need to speak out against games that we no longer want to see in our industry?

That's not what I said lol

Why do we care so much about this game? They didn't do anything provocative nor are they spreading LGBIDKWTF+ propaganda with their designs. Also no single player projects died for this.
They are former devs of titanfall games, we could get proper nextgen titanfall 3(or spiritual succesor called titandrop :P ) with glorious singleplayer campaign + gritty multiplayer component instead of that shit :P

Do we really need another highguard topic? You guys are pathetic with this obsession of wanting games to fail. Find something you like instead, your life will be better

I'll never understand this community's obsession with celebrating failures of the medium they supposedly enjoy.
It's not really because we like failure, it's mostly because gaming was always based on "show us something that we didn't have before", and this game doesn't have shit, so why bother?!

On a totally unrelated note, thanks John Marston John Marston

My guess:
Probably some 6-8 months.
Once it has settled down it will probably keep some 2-3K players across platforms, then in 6 months they'll try bringing interest back by announcing some big 2.0 update addressing some of the player feedback with a faster initial phase and and a 6V6 mode or something like that, at which point it will likely be too little too late

Depends. If this was only based on the success, it would close in three months. But if they got the money secured, it can last for at least an year.

This mentality only encourages studios to make bad games because people are accepting of them. I guarantee none of us sit here and think man I hope more games fail but when we as consumers are the ones they're aiming at to purchase products, critiquing is simply part of the game.

Especially with these days in how cocky, smart ass, belligerent, these dev teams can get and be over this shit all the gloves are off.

We want good games right? When shit releases it needs called out to prevent other teams from doing the same and trying harder to make better products

And the final cliche response is it's so easy to just mosey on by a thread if you're tired of the topic.

On topic I don't know if it gets pulled as fast as concord but I feel they will let it ride a bit. 7k players now, how sad.

Your life will also be better if you kept slurping from the trough and playing shit games and ignored topics that trigger you like this one.

Next Wednesday
If this dude had said "a week from next Wednesday" then we would assume he's either a time traveler or an executive in charge of the studio

from tassi:

Late on Wednesday, various members of Wildlight, the developer of the just-released hero "raid" shooter Highguard, posted that "most of the team" had been laid off, and they were now looking for work. This comes just over two weeks after the game launched on January 26. Even though its fate would now seem all but sealed, Wildlight says it's not dead yet...

1 month Chads eating good?

Believe it or not, it survived 1 month. So any gaffers who picked 2 months are in the hunt.

Steamdb peak low last night was 201 gamers. Keep going down. It's right now got 361 CCU ranked 1,220th on Steam with these games
