At least with Extraction shooters there are completely different gameplay loops. Tarkov, Helldivers 2, Arc Raiders, Marathon all play way different. That is not the case for Battle Royal genre

The character is swinging the pickaxe like he's straight out of Fortnite

In fact, this game looks like Fortnite zero build with realistic graphics.

Also, the portal mechanics were kind of overwhelming.

Doom clones, arena shooters, Halo killers, CoD killers, looter shooters, hero shooters, battle royales... there's always the cream of the crop and a whole lot of shitty also-rans. There are too many good options for extraction right now, the OGs Tarkov and Hunt, ARC Raiders and Marathon, and upcoming games that look MUCH better than this, like Hunger and Beautiful Light.

I'm really into the genre atm but I can't make room for everything. This looks like one to file next to Active Matter and Rules of Engagement. I'd welcome the devs proving me wrong, but it looks pretty bad.

They need to cook this game for years because showing this build in an EA is a bold move where first impressions are a great deal.
Lucky if this thing is an actual early access.
