It's great to see a quality single player game succeed so well, at the same time we have a few GaaS games failing.
One would expect the industry to look at this and take a hint. But I bet they are still going to roll the dice and bet on more GaaS in the hopes of getting the new Fortnite.
I mean that doesn't really make any sense the industry is not solely single player or just only online
That's like trying to fucking say Battlefield 6 moving record units the industry should take note and "tAkE a hiNtz" lol
Or, hear me out....different fanbases buy different games.... Madden, Fifa, Call Of Duty, Battlefield and many other online games will still move huge units and many AAA single player games will still move huge units.
RE6's performance is no more evidence that the industry should go in a direction of single player anymore then BF6 is evidence it should focus on online.
Merely means we have room for many, many different genres. Its not an either or and this odd desperate confirmation bias seems to be absent when tons of single player games fail, where is your "hint" for the industry regarding those games? lol
RE6 did amazing in sales (i'm currently playing it and loving it myself) , but by no means is this the normal or an expected thing or some how base level on how single player games should do any more then BF6 is an expected result for ALL GAAS / ONLINE games etc.
Such absolutes are narrow minded.
