Can't say I've really been paying attention to his more recent stuff but that early stuff was very good. Feels weird to see YouTubers celebrating 2 decade anniversaries.
if i remove 20 years from my age I dont even get to be a teen again

True, but the number of shitty games that suck ass has multiplied exponentially. The time when he began taking us back to the past is the same amount in the past as the past was to us in the beginning of taking us in to the past.

Some friends and I went on a road trip looking for that Rolling Rock beer. We eventually found some.
I can't for the life of me remember the beer but I do remember getting lost on the road for a while.
Good times.
I didn't even realize it was regional. It's not even the good regional beer over here dude.

The first episode I saw was the Star Trek episode on GameTrailers in 2008. Was hooked, although I would say these past 11 years, I haven't been a daily watcher of AVGN. I'm more interested in James talking about film. He introduced me to a lot of classic movies that I have never seen or heard of.

And now he have the worst hairline of this multiverse
"He's the angriest gamer you've ever heard..."This looks ridicilous.
Shave it off & grow a beard. Bonus: Go to the gym and build some muscles.

And Oblivion had been out for about 2.5 weeks when the first episode was uploaded to YouTube. When he started his channel, the first game he reviewed (Castlevania 2) was as old as Oblivion is today.
I may be misremembering this but I'm pretty sure the original three episodes James created in 2004 were circulating several months, maybe even a full year, before they were uploaded to YouTube. And not just on GameTrailers or other partner websites, but literally just in the form of downloads hosted on various sites. His stuff is a great reminder that there was a time when watching videos on the internet wasn't just going to Youtube. There was a time when you hopped between sites for your different content. GameTrailers was king for great video game stuff.
Oops lol.The fact that no one here knows that he grew a beard 4 months ago just shows how long ago some of you have stopped watching him lol.
I still tune in once a month for his monthly AVGN episodes. Otherwise I don't really look at his other content.Oops lol.
I think the last thing I watched was his Earthbound video, and then before that the one where he plays Mario Maker levels his kid made.
Oh I thought of another one. Wasn't there a kindasorta recent-ish one where he went through a whole bunch of Commodore 64 games? That was neat since I'm a bit too young to have ever used one of those.I still tune in once a month for his monthly AVGN episodes. Otherwise I don't really look at his other content.
He still rotates back and forth between skit AVGN and regular/old-school AVGN where he simply goes in-depth on a game or device.
