Crimson Desert |OT| We've Got Quest(ion)s

I do find the sudden pivot rather abrasive later in the story. Going from exploring the desert, meeting witches and achieving enlightenment to fighting automatons just makes no sense at all.

It's like telling Paul Atreides he's the Lisan Al Gaib and then dropping him in Terminator Salvation.

This games seriously giving me 'I need a new PC' thoughts. My 4080 just isn't making it shine enough

Haven't had this thought since trying to ham Arma 2 on my old 8800 GTS, or pushing my old 5900 past it's limits..

Feel like a damn kid again who doesn't have the latest toys :messenger_tears_of_joy:

God bless PC gaming. Always giving me the damn FOMO.

Well I beat the main quest, who knew the final boss would be a biblically accurate seraphim?

I don't think any game is flawless, but it's the most fun I've had exploring a world since Witcher 3 or Skyrim. I was quietly hyped for this game before launch but I didn't expect it to be this great.

Congratulations Pearl Abyss, you made a classic.

Fun stuff about the Moon Slashes Abyss Gears from the 3 Moon Reapers:

Funny how these weapons were just sitting there with no warning or anything

Bet half the people walked right past them

I always look around after a boss, got most of the Kuku spears like that, I think there's only one you have to get from dispatch.

Think I'm done. 134 hours total. Finished the epilogue, cleansed all the sanctums and completed all the abyss puzzles. There's still a load of side quests left in the desert but I feel like I've seen all I needed to see. Hernand is the best region for side content.

Bit relieved to be honest, was worried I'd be so hooked on this game it would start eating into summer.

If they release a DLC then I might come back and mop up the rest. Only big boss I didn't beat was the Forgotten General, maybe I'll do it then.

Death Stranding vibes. I love Damiane gameplay.

Dude, you need to get her some better (elegant) gear! ;)

Finally finished the game on weekend....after a measly 300hrs! Last fights were pretty epic! Thanks PA for this lovely game! :messenger_smiling_hearts: Best one I played since KCD2. I hope they can add more DLC content in future. Maybe some "romance" stuff or a new invasion or an expansion into further territory or everything together. :)

It's amusing to me that the end of the main quest ages you and completing all the abyss challenges de-ages you again. Thanks, game. Finishing that last abyss area involves a significant amount of tedious bullshit btw.

I'm not bothering with bounties or 'fetch me some centipedes' type quests, but I will probably keep going through everything that looks somewhat like real content.

I'm just getting started with her. I will complete side quests and try to get some money cos I'm broke.

Her moveset and animations are really fun to play. Guerrilla should take some notes on how to do melee combat in Horizon.

I am not a friend of running across the whole map to get some awesome armor early on...but I would make one exemption....and thats for Damiane's "elegant carmine armor" blueprint. Its really worth it. :messenger_smiling_hearts:

The White Bloodwind Armor should be your first goal, if you progress the story too far, you'll have to finish the game to get it.

You have to get your trust to 100 with 5 npc, one being Stefan Landford, that moves a lot during the story and isn't always available for gifts, another being the Chief Monk at Jigeong Temple, that disappears after you complete his quest.

I missed them before knowing of the set. :messenger_loudly_crying:

Chief monk wanders around the Temple. He doesn't wear a bandana. Only NPC that disappears is the Pororin Chief while you do the search for Shai quests.

So I have noticed that the abyss points I spent upgrade the health, stamina and spirit levels are preserved across the characters without needing to respec your abyss points. Also things like elemental unlocks is also preserved across characters. That's a good touch that makes switching between characters a bit more palatable

Holy shit, after 100 hours I just found this out.

Nobody ever told me? You can see what fulling enhanced stats for each gear looks like before you decide what to enhance?

Any tips for the Marni's Excavatron? Been doing faction quest while still on chapter 2

I'm kinda stuck, only last like a few attacks and then die, can't defend and my attack sucks??
I mean is there a specific gear I need to have?

Should be pretty easy once you get stuff refined to rank 4. And while you do get the quest early, it's a sidequestso there's no need to rush. I didn't bother doing the quarry until I needed it to progress the camp expansion.

Long swords or spears are useful against it. Run around, wait for it to come out, R2 attack, get away. Rinse and repeat. Pretty sure there must be better strategies but for me hit and run worked.

Blinding Flash or Force Palm when it tries to dig to stun it.

Since I was early game in terns of stats/gear it was a game of footsies by chipping it down with Shield Toss with Damiane. Which was I think a 15 minute endurance match.

Beehive axe. Shoot hives out of trees until you get one. (low-ish drop rate but it doesn't take too long) A few hits and the dot will kill him.

Anyone do sanctorum of darkness recently? There was a way to use your sword to light up the power and run across to the main power circle, but it's been patched which is fine... There's a chip below on the wall and it won't come off no matter what I do, anyone experience this?

If you got it for ps5, there's the Grotevant armor you can equip for the more challenging early battles.

Also-- Blinding Flash, Sword of the Lord and Hwando are useful weapons.

I ended up just keeping distance and shooting it with the bow. This was probably the only time I used the bow outside of certain puzzles.

I haven't read the posts for a few days. Since I started the discussion about the stats. So I don't know what's been discussed. I found this video that just happened to be in my YouTube algorithm probably the day of my post.

It has some good info. I haven't had time to read the posts or the video pudel posted in response. I will later.

I just managed to get the "100% chance to not consume an arrow"....and I CANNOT recommend this. Together with "explosive arrows" this feels like straight up cheating. But its quite fun as well. ;)

Thank you all, gonna be honest I didn't refine any of my items except my sword I think so, but I only did it once.
I kinda thought the game way to easy, I mean the usual bandits around Hernand are so easy.... Maybe I should tackle this later on and try all this tips, I don't think I'm strong enough now.

Also using the Grotevant armor, but his attacks are so strang they just send me flying lolol

Try to keep the distance but my bow is pretty useless I think I need to upgrade it.
Been playing as sword and shield built.

Btw the game is freaking amazing, the scale of the map is just ridiculous....

Restarted a 30 hour game last night.

I'd spent that long just arsing around and coming to a realisation that I'd been missing a few things..

Absolutely zero regrets. This game is something else indeed. Horseback in the snowy mountains, the rain at night in Hornand, the general scale of it all..

I think I've honestly been waiting 42 years for a game like this

NG+ with enemies scaled to an overpowered Kliff when? They can make it so the player is the one that picks what gets reset/carries over.

At endgame, bow is the easiest way for me to cheese bosses. There's some food and elixirs that give infinite stamina for a few seconds, use one of those and spam infinite exploding arrows using evasive shot.

I know that feeling. I wish someone would mod a way to control the weather in the game. Rainy and cloudy nights are so atmospheric.
