That seemed to be what The Penguin was hinting at... but the casting of this movie is leaning in a different direction so far.

I hope so, I just want new villians other than Joker, Two-Face and the other big names of his Rogue Gallery. The Court of Owls is one of my favorite Batman stories. I also hope we get Hugo Strange, Killer Croc, Ventrilqulist, Professor Pyg, Black Mask, etc

I know lot of those I mentioned go into the fantastical than the realistic but Batman has always had villains that are more supernatural than realistic

Did you guys like bat2022? I thought it was pretty far from quality of Nolan trilogy
I much preferred it. It felt like Batman in the early years and starting his detective journey.
As opposed to The Dark Knight that tried for realism to an extent but made all the villains not like their comic counterpart at all.

Nolans Batman had so much handed to him immediately. Lucky him.

I liked it a lot because it had a serious Batman actually solving a case with the help of Gordon, which to me was probably the closest we will ever get to both cartoons.

I don't compare this to Nolan's trilogy because they are going for different things. What happens in Dark Knight Rises very clearly shows how different of a direction Nolan went with his Batman.

It is my favorite Batman movie full stop. I absolutely loved it.

I also love the Nolan trilogy, too, to be clear, I'm not taking anything away from them. But I think Reeves just nailed what Batman should be.

Is he going to go on another chase with massive collateral damage to catch a guy who then goes "I don't know lol" and that's it?

Yes, very much, he's actually Batman in these movies and appears to be have been doing so on the regular unlike the Nolan trilogy where if you look back on it, he's Batman for like a year or so and that's it.

I feel similar to you about Nolan's Batman. The best thing Nolan's Batman (especially Batman Begins) did was ground the character as much as possible to try and show that this vigilante could potentially exist in real life with a ton of the right conditions and actual real life gear behind his technology, because before that the previous movies were sometimes kind of just making stuff up as they went along.

Batman first one movie sucked tbh. Initial trailer was so hype and it was just stupid talking 24/7, ost sucked.
My mind jumped to the 1989 one at first and I felt anger bubbling up lol. I was incredibly disappointed in it. Batman walking like a tank towards gunfire instead of using the shadows to take out people. The incredibly lame bombastic ending with the fights on the ceiling catwalk and flood with Batman being recorded in daylight by cameras. Batman walking retardedly straight into the nightclub instead of appearing mysteriously in the Penguin's office.

Though it did give us this cool scene with Bruce knocking out a guy with two quick punches:

Really disliked The Batman, as other have stated I don't understand how it got these reviews. It's looking good for sure but the story was so bad... no hype for this one.

If they add fucking Paul Dano as the joker then it's gonna be a horrible film. Even that little bit he did was atrociously bad stuff that ruined the ending of it.

Good news, Paul Dano will not be the joker as he was the riddler in the first one.
Love Paul Dano. His performance in There Will Be Blood was epic.

On topic, looking forward to this. The last one shat the bed in the final act but did a lot right.

Could have the owls as a thing, but not THE thing, kinda the Penguin is in the first movie. Mr Freeze is too cartoon to have in this world?
