Mandalorian and Grogu first clip

Yeah, I definitely have a bad feeling about this....

The movie is going to bomb and I think Disney knows the future for Star Wars is bleak.

May 4th came and went without any news. I couldn't even find anything new about this franchise on that day.

Now, top it off with the fact Star Wars Insider magazine, which has been around for decades, released it's final issue on May 5th.... and well. Things seem really off.

Disney self sabotage should be studied.

You know, this might be the final nail in the coffin if this movie fails. They already have more movies lined up like the Rogue Squadron/Starfighter film. If this bombs as I think it will, Disney might give up on SW for a long while. They have to be seen the waning interest.

I got a bad feeling about this.
It's not waning interest though, plenty of things Star Wars do well. The animated stuff in particular is quite good and I think fairly well received. But Lucasarts has CONSTANTLY backslapped it's core audience and jumped through insane hoops to court a non-existent one, some mythic pool of MILLIONS of LGBTBBQ girl/girl-adjacent people that want cuck men, obnoxious girlboss characters, and gay shit with it's live action offerings. So, to the surprise of NO ONE who lives more than 2 miles from the west or east coast, none of that crap sells, and certainly not when you put it on Star Wars.

If Lucasarts puts forward male centric adventure stories with attractive women, cool aliens, and epic fights, then Star Wars will be right back at the top.

I don't actually watch this Star Wars side stuff and I'm not gonna start now, but I saw an ad for it and what's with that name lol. Gotta be one of the laziest names for a movie that I've ever seen.

It's fanservice. Mandalorian was a cool western-scifi mix on the first season, but since Grogu's so cute the damn muppet gained a ton of popularity, so I guess they are leaning on that.

Bet that if they could the movie would just be called Grogu. :goog_relieved:

Can't wait to see Colberts LOTR movie. It's going to be terrible.

There's probably still a good chance it gets cancelled after The Hunt For Gollum bombs.
I mean, non Viggo Aragorn and 86 years old Ian Mckellen on a green screen being bossed around by Kate Winselt's undoubtedly girl boss character. From the director of such hits like the recent "Animal farm but what if Captilsm bad" movie with an impressive 29 (critics) / 19 (audience) metascore?

I thought everyone knew Pascal was gay?

I've had a top of the line Gaydar handed down to me from my mom ages ago. She got it at Sharper Image.

Pedro Pascal confirmed his relationship with creative director Rafael Olarra after the two were photographed together in New York City.

Also

Don't worry guys they're just roommates.

I actually didn't know Pedro Pascal was gay, but now it makes so much sense that he's put in every macho role imaginable. Hollywood has to pervert everything, they cannot help themselves.

Is he? But I read about how he was all touchy toward his female co-star in that Fantastic Four actress.

Gay dudes can't be touchy? Look at any red carpet occasion. He's never there or never pictured or if he is, there's no woman with him. And ever since he blew up he's got zero history with girlfriends/wives.

I don't pay attention to him or any celebrities at red carpet events so its the first time I heard he is gay.

Neither do I, but light google digging and logic is all it takes. As soon as I saw he hadn't been with any woman that sealed the anus deal for me.

He says he get nervous around a lot of people so he needs to touch people to feel secure.

I couldn't care less if he's gay, bi, purple, Magenta, Cyan or whatever. (he's probably bi afaik. He was banging Lena Headey at game of thrones time.)

What tires me is seeing his face in every movie over the last 10 years, not to mention him giving opinions on every single topic.

He's paid to read a sheet of paper and interpret what is written there. Not to give opinions he's not qualified to give.

The fatigue is real.

(mark rufalo is another one that I can't stand to see his face, but at least this one doesn't accept every shitty b tier movie)

Hollywood spitting in everyone's face. He's got all the major cool macho roles…Joel, Gaydiator 2, Mando, Narcos…

And the whole time he digs the cock 🤣

Fuck YOU for posting this!
Did Yoghurt become stupid all of a sudden?!
Am I supposed to "laugh" at this?
Well, I'm weeping. Again.
(George Lucas would cry while rotating in his grave if he ever saw this!)

;D

Isn't Kate Winslet playing Gollum/Smeagol's 'unnamed in the text' grandmama? In that case expect a LOT of smeagol being corrupted by the ring, probably told in lots of flashbacks, but Aragorn at least should never interact with her as she'd be long dead. Gandalf certainly didn't mention that he knew her personally either (I posted the relevant parts from the book when he discusses smeagol with Frodo somewhere around here) so none of these characters should ever meet.

I may be remembering wrong, but I don't think they named the grandma and neither said she is the focus. They kinda put big emphasys on the girl, which I 100% knows will be a girlboss because who the fuck even asked for this?
Reminds me of heavy denying of War of Rohirin, while once nameless girlboss clearly states "I need no man". You know, this girl also "apparently" interacted with Gandalf, because of course she does.

How could they fuck this up? All we want is TAKEN with Mando and Grogu?!?!? Grogu is abducted in the first 5 minutes, Mando gives the EXACT SAME "I have a particular set of skills" speech, then there is 90 minutes of Mando savaging aliens left and right while Grogu uses his force powers to work free. They unite at the end to defeat the final boss.

If Gosling's Starfighter bombs then it'll be interesting to see what Disney intends to do with the IP going forward. Imo they should just bury the whole franchise in sand for five years.

Nah, they just need to sequester a few writers in a remote cabin for a week with nothing but testosterone patches, cocaine, and whisky. Then we'd get a proper script :P

I'm actually more impressed at the amount of effort they put on marketing this turd.
They might have burn a shit ton of money marketing this film.

I remember my friends and I burning with anticipation months before Empire came out.
Showing up an hour early at the theatre and waiting in that huuuuge line with butterflies in my stomach.

Skipping school to go see Return of the Jedi.

Today?

We need a documentary to explain how Disney fuck up one of the most successful IPs of history of cinema.

So, as everyone assumed, it's pretty much just a long episode of The Mandalorian, and not even a particularly great one.

I remember everyone going ballistic at Chapek when he came in, I'm not going to lie this has always been Iger's utterly shit direction at Disney. He's responsible for buying out and shittifying:
- Pixar
- Marvel
- Star Wars

While it worked out for the former two for a while, its very obvious they literally just want to milk the shit out of these franchises, quality be damned. I genuinely wish Disney had a CEO like Michael Eisner again, despite some of his massive business flops, I'd argue he was much more interested in innovation and doing something different and unique than the last two CEOs, who just believe in spending a shitton of money and IPs and milking them to death. There's nothing "magical" about shoving the same fucking bland shitty movie IPs in your face repeatedly multiple times a year.

Already had watched a guy insider who presenced like a 30 minutes peak into this turd, and he said exactly that.
The only difference is that he said to think its just a regular low effort episode, but with larger budget(visual effects and all).
