It's pretty great indeed. It does a really good job of putting light to things of daily life we normally overlook, and the little cap of whimsy provided by the wind thematic spices it up enough to carry a sense of wonder that draws you in like it doesn't even care.

It's also super sakuga. Those Ohira cuts are delicious.
I think everyone who watches this show likes it. At least I haven't seen anyone really voice a substantial complaint towards it anywhere in the internet.

I'll do it. The character art looks derpy :p

never actually seen the series

Also, the preview videos have flat out sucked...

What?

Either way, I don't really get what you're trying to say. It just makes zero sense to me at this point in time; I'm certain that even if the show as a whole turns out bad (not impossible at all) the first episode will be amazing. I mean, what will you be doing after it airs? Because the amount of excitement will only get much crazier. You should have learned from Eureka Seven AO and Star Driver that disappointing shows don't really start bad, they turn bad.

In my never ending masochistic journey to watch shows that heavily feature my goddess, I thought I might as well go back to this since I never finished this when it was first airing. I apparently didn't think highly of it, but now I've watched a lot of shitty ecchi/action shows so there's no way this could be anywhere those levels of bad (especially not when there's Saeko, oh god Saeko). Pretty standard zombie nonsense with some good animation and plenty of boobs and panty shots to keep my attention. Most of the characters are pretty likable (obviously not Rei, SHIT SHIIIIIIIIIIIT etc.) so I look forward to gazing at their bodies for the rest of the show. OFFICIAL BEST GIRL LIST SO FAR:

Saeko >>>> Saya > Sensei > Various background waifus > SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT >>>>>>>>>>>> Rei.

Episode 6 with the game Kick the Can I think is only the second time I can recall seeing it featured in an anime other than Higurashi I believe was the other.
Gintama used it as a joke.

And this is another show I need to finish up. I think I stopped at episode 4 a year ago or so. lol

AWWWW YISS.

BookWalker, the biggest Japanese provider of light novel e-books, is holding a one-day sale today in which every single light novel and manga volume in their library that falls under a Kadokawa publishing label is at half price! And on top of that, they're also holding a promotion where every ¥1000 you spend on Kadokawa e-books gets you ¥500 cashback! Basically ALL THE KADOKAWAS are effectively at a quarter the price.

I knew there was a good reason why for the past year or two I've been adding all the BookWalker books that interest me to a favourites list instead of just buying them outright.

So yeah, I just went on a massive buying spree and got all the volumes of the following LNs:

Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi
Mondaiji-tachi
Kitaku Shinai-bu
Kokoro Connect
The latest three BlazBlue LNs (the previous ones I'd already bought and read)
And yes, just for the hell of it, the new Ore no Class ni Haruhi wa Inai.

I also grabbed a few random manga volumes, including all of Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan, the latest volume of Nichijou (I've read the previous ones), YuriYuri (the one-off collection of proper yuri stories by the author of YuruYuri), and the two current volumes of the BlazBlue: Remix Heart spinoff manga.

God knows I'm never going to find time to read all of these things, but it sure does feel nice having them =D

As I recall, it was used to great effect in Acchi Kocchi.

Haibane Renmei 5

Rakka learns of a book called "The Beginning of the World" that used to be at the library but couldn't be read for more than the first couple of pages because of the condition it was in. I'm not sure if it's the actual Bible, but that's generally what it is. Rakka and the other girl make up an ending for it as a gift to a worker going on maternity leave, and it gives some insight into how they feel about themselves as Haibane: "mistakes" created by God that were too similar to him, but he allowed them to live in their own town in the sky. So I guess my biggest question is, what does a regular human do to become reborn as a Haibane? How do they become more similar to God enough so that that's what they become.

Anyway, ending to this episode really was great.

Rewatch Digimon Tamers 20

Impmon still damaged, Horsemon comes back with a vengence, and most of the old crew responsible for the Digimon project are reunited.

Apparently making a fake blue card was enough for evolution for MetalBleymon to rock the house, because friendship!

So apparently he's like immortal or some shit because he's the father of his great granddaughters child or some crayness
tl;dr: Makoto's father is evil incarnate on a level Makoto could never dream of achieving.

After one of his daughters (that he impregnated) died in childbirth due to being too young to be having children, he began experimenting with growth hormones and chemicals to force children's bodies to mature faster so they can give birth safely at younger ages.
It's unclear whether he was actually successful with that goal, but what we do know is that it resulted in the affected children beginning menstruating at very young ages. So the bottom right of that family tree has less than 10 years between generations.

Sort of.

Officially, everyone seen having sex in the games is over 18, so all of the age stuff is vaguely implied through character designs, speech styles, off-screen events, and convoluted wordplay (e.g. an engineering academy that characters attend has a name that, when abbreviated, sounds like an abbreviated word for "elementary school") rather than ever stated explicitly. What's crazier is that most of the games came out during a period of years (1999-2006 or so) when the main adult games rating board was refusing to rate games with real incest in them, so all of the incest stuff was also implied by clever wordings and visuals. Eventually they were able to release an official family tree (upon which that chart is based) after that restriction was lifted.

He also does various other reprehensible things like turning women into sex slaves and pimping them out to politicians and police to gain political connections and whatnot. You don't ever play as Makoto's father in any of the games--in the three games that he actually appears in directly, you play the role of someone trying to stop him.
(Well, kind of. In the first one, you play the role of a little girl pregnant with his child who's in love with him and wants to marry him and keep him away from other women. The child she's pregnant with later becomes the mother of Setsuna in School Days.)

Seeing as how I'm finished with JoJo, can someone recommend me a hot-blooded, exciting anime to watch?

(I'm aware of TTGL, but I don't want to watch it)

I do have some interest in reading this...
But, yeah, book backlog is big enough as it is.

I'm pretty sure this is like the fourth time Kagami talks about Makoto's evil father.
A couple more School Days impressions and we'll be able to start using that Matrix quote reaction image.

Digimon Tamers 21

The infamous Leomon appears, and Juri apparently is a closet Digimon Card Battler. She too wants to be a tamer, but apparently is disappointed.

Wait, Takato, you left your fucking Digivice with her!

Juri is still weird, I think she actually attempted to use sex appeal on Leomon. Also shocked that Takato doesn't give a fuck about Juri having a first love already.

Why? It is 100% the most hot-blooded anime out there, no exaggeration.

I'm pretty sure my brain is still reeling from the final episode of that series.

TTGL does get mentioned a lot for being amazingly over the top and MANLAY, but it should also get credit for having a solid emotional core and some very good character development, especially for its lead.

This is a stupid question, but what tops that? I don't think there's any anime-related garbage I know of that can top that.

Depends. I personally found Corpse Party Tortured Souls more disturbing than that.

Also, that's visual novel stuff, not anime. You can bet your ass there's worse stuff out there. The genre has no limits.

I'm gonna go with this show for now because I heard good things about it. Didn't really enjoy the manga too much, though.

Mushibugyo.

I'll check these out as well sometime over the course of this week.

Thanks for the recs.

I think we've discussed this before cosmic. I do mean to come back to TTGL eventually, but I was so furious that [TTGL spoilers]
Kamina dies
that I lost interest in the show a couple years ago.

I really should give it another shot, but I don't feel ready yet.

Were these games released in English? Are they any good?

Except school days , all of them are in japanese.

They are good depending on what you expect from them.

I mean they zaren't bad game but they are FAR from being my favorites or being in my recommendation lists.

Just remember all the males that aren't controlled by the player are d*cks. And even the player can be one if he choose to. That said , in school days , cross day and so on , there is a way to reach an happy ending with the cast ( those route involve acting like a normal human being ) but those aren't the most popular route for some reason.. the bad end routes are very popular to the intent that some are even canon.

Well as a avid visual novel player i have to admit that this is quite hard to surpass...i honnestly don't recall something that come close.sure i've seen plenty of assholes acting as antagonists in my visual novels but that guy , he's kinda in his own league.

From what I gather, the manga is genuinely bad but the show (which I've recently finished) turns it into entertaining cheese. I was unengaged at times, but the effects are really something to behold and surprisingly, Subaru Kimura voicing Heike manages to carry the show by itself.

Did I also say that the show gets better because of it? Trust me on this one, you just need to get to episode 11 and you will perfectly understand what I mean. It wouldn't be my favorite anime of all time if things got subdued because of that event. It's just a jumping point to make things exponentially MORE hot-blooded after a very brief downer period.

Not even fan translations exist? Hmm

It's so hard to get into the VN novel genre half the titles aren't released in English and if there is a patch you have to bend over backwards to get the dumb thing to work.

Yeah, it's a pretty good slice of life and the wind theme just adds to it like you said. I didn't really talk about the animation but it's pretty good I agree.

Haha, I was thinking of that after I finished watching the show. Of the people that I do know that have watched it, I think all of them thought it was a good show as well.

Gintama used it as a joke.

And this is another show I need to finish up. I think I stopped at episode 4 a year ago or so. lol

I'll get around to starting Gintama one of these days, haha.

I think you should finish Windy Tales. Its got :firehawk for firehawk, haha.

As I recall, it was used to great effect in Acchi Kocchi.

Ah, okay. Show looked kind of cute from when it was airing.

I'm diggin' the artstyle, will definitely give it a watch sometime this week.

Yeah, the art style is what I liked about it upon first seeing it as well. Turns out I thought it was a pretty good show in general. Hopefully you do too. :)

Well those are huge games with a very large amount of text ..i guess no group is intrested.
2 reasons :

-JAST localised school days , so group are doing another serie ( because they might localise the others )
-The anime did NOT leave such a great impressions that the demand for fan translation was big enough for a translation by fan to start
-There was already a group working on it ( SEKAI Project ) that went MIA

Yeah that's 2 reasons

Ps: there are plenty of good titles translated to start properly in the visual novel genre, if you're intrested you can check the Visual novel thread.

I'll probably pick up the video game sometime (didn't realize it was officially released) to renew my suffering. These games are AO correct? The whole time I first watched School Days I felt like I was watching a hentai with no hentai and was disappoint.
