Seriously though, that's quite a few games for a country of 10 million. PCs were subsidized here by the government during the 90s which gave us quite a headstart, and PC gaming is still very popular here.

Didn't know Starbreeze was Swedish, gonna have to go with the Darkness because that game and series deserves more attention.

Minecraft

But there are other games that deserve serious praise as well:
The Ascent
Steamworld Dig 1,2
Brothers A Tale of Two Sons

CatLady

Selfishly plays on Xbox Purr-ies X
I didn't know The Ascent developed in Sweden, but it's one of my favorite games from last year. I also voted for Soma; I was surprised at how good that game was.

Battlefield still top even though it peaked a while ago and is currently in a sorry state.
Special mention for Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasy.

Have only played Chronicles of Riddick and Mirror's Edge on the list of options in the poll, both on PS3.

Not on the list but Returnal blew me away
I will consider that a personal attack. /jk

Quite a powerhouse. I wish my country had that kind of output.

Personally I'd go for Battlefield, The Ascent, Mad Max, Just Cause, The Division and Hotline (this one in particular surprised me, I thought it was American).

Sweden had a strong demo scene in the C64 and Amiga days which paved the way for game development. Explaining how such a small nation can punch above its weight in the market. The same process happened in Finland too.

... Norway? Now that's just a sad display.

Amnesia: Most frightening game ever.

Battlefield until BF4 (it was the last one I played and I loved it).

Wolfenstein: The New Order and The Old Blood were amazing. The New Colossus was okay.

Edit. Heja Sverige!

Unravel & Yoku's Island Express (wish there was a sequel!) are personal favourites, and of course, Battlefield.
Major stretch, but honorable mention: Elitserien 95 - gone but never forgotten!

It’s kinda wierd, I’m honestly not a big fan of any of the big swedish-developed games. I liked Battlefield back in the day but since then not many games have been up my alley. I liked Unravel and Brothers but most of it is kinda meh tbh.

Edit: I should add that I haven’t played It Takes Two yet. It will probably change my perception a bit.
