It's a console released in early 2017. Nothing about Switch is disappointing.
Even the HW is damn impressive, man!
During the Summer and Autumn Switch was selling comfortably above 2017 and 2018 levels. Now its far below that.

It's down about 40% YoY which is a big decline.

For its age, the Switch is doing very well. But compared to how it was selling earlier in 2023, its holiday sales are a bit disappointing.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
And if everyone in the world has a Switch so it drops to 0 sales worldwide and "only" sells software to that install base from then on and until the successor arrives that will be disappointing too. It's pretty much reaching saturation in Japan, within Game Boy+Color/NDS range (will probably go over).

Not for a 7 years old console… At all…

Is the PS5 5M LTD dream still alive for 2023?

It needs to do 117,086 in the next 2 weeks.

With a normal holiday boost thst would be possible. But so far PS5 has shown no sign of a holiday boost.
What does GAF think about the chances of Switch outselling PS2 lifetime sales when all is said and done?
Iffy. It will definitely reach 140 million. But reaching 160 relies on Nintendo cutting the price and keeping it around for several years after Switch 2.

It's been down less than than 40% the other months of the year in Japan. And in the UK it was down only 19% in November.
