For somebody so sensitive about this particular subject, you sure do go on about emotions a lot. This wall of text because I took an article at face value ffs.Altchair? You are calling someone a manchild for not believing a convenient excuse of a "rumour", that is your only defense for your narrative that you probably repost every relevant thread. Bitching much?
Where do you think this bullshit started first?
Thats right hereObsidian Entertainment: Is working on 6 projects now

Obsidian presumably working on 6 projects while having less than 250 employees (fallout by obsidian might not be coming anytime soon). Rumor
1 - Megan Starks is leading the 2nd TOW DLC. 2 - Tim Caim and Leonard Boyarsky are working on something (might be TOW2 or something else). 3 - Josh Sawyer is working on his Project Missouri (rumored to be a non violent RPG with a heavy focus on dialogue). 4 - Brandon Adler has a project he is...www.resetera.com
Your saviour himself calls it a "speculation"(who is this Marano guy anyway?), and now you are crying about this being not treated as a fact. You really project all your emotions on to others. This guy even thinks Project Missouri is another big AAA RPG, but its just a 5 man Unity Engine Project by Josh Sawyer(and I have seen many people actually think Project Missouri is something big because of this guy). Who called it Project Missouri anyway?
Lots people need confirmation bias when talking about plastic boxes. How else will they validate their insecurities while console warring?
You really like to project your own feelings on others when their posts don't fit your narrative. You call me sensitive it most of your own post history is just crying about Xbox. So much of a "multiplatform gamer" that much of your post history is just concern trolling about Xbox. For somebody so sensitive about this particular subject, you sure do go on about emotions a lot. I'm a multiplatform gamer ("confirmation bias when talking about plastic boxes" - more manchildisms) so if Avowed is any good I'll buy it just like I would any other game of interest to me - I just know better than to expect it next year (the whole point of my post that you seem determined to ignore).
You spending some more time on ResetEra socialising with other more sensitive souls like yourself might be beneficial - for both forums .
You thought you saw me in the mirror? Maybe you will stop crying when you realize that it only reflects you.You spending some more time on ResetEra socialising with other more sensitive souls like yourself might be beneficial - for both forums .

I never said that. Infact.I don't know why, Avowed isn't coming out next year. Simple. Maybe it's time for you to get over it and come to terms with reality?
Avowed will not drop this year(its targeting late 2022-early 2023), but Starfield may be a 2021 title.
You really are so insecure about something so obvious that you had to rely on portraying some ResetEra post from your savior as a fact. You think Avowed and Everwild would launch on 2021 and Forza Motorsport would have been a launch title without COVID? The leak did not even mention State of Decay 3 or Flight Simulator. If he was working at XGS publishing he should have also known about The Medium, Scorn, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 , Exo One and Shredders. It only mentions stuffs we already knew. Also where is the new Hellblade II trailer?
Avowed isn't 'targeting late 2022' as its release date.Cope.
I never said that. Infact.
You really are so insecure about something so obvious that you had to rely on portraying some ResetEra post from your savior as a fact.
No one said what it is targeting and what it is not. But if they started working on it at May 2018(according to Chris Avellone on RPG Codex), we can take a guess of 2022-23. We can take a guess based on that, someone already did that for all first party projects few pages back(he should post it in the Xbox OT). Most of the studio is actually working on Avowed contrary to what you think.Avowed isn't 'targeting late 2022' as its release date.
Well you are the one throwing that "Obsidian is working on 6 projects" to validate yourself. And I love the way you keep harking on about ResetEra when I don't even touch the site, and you're the one linking to it.
most of the first party stuff from ms was already on year 2/3 of dev when announced so I would say from next year there’s going to be a pretty solid stream of games
Your personal guesswork. They didn't start working on it in May 2018, pre-production began in April. Like pulling teeth with you .No one said what it is targeting and what it is not. I don't think its worth it for me to dig through RPG Codex for all the evidence we had on Avowed since 2018 just for you. It was always known that they were working on a "Open World AAA RPG set in Pillars of Eternity universe".Nov 11, 2018
So it's slightly worse than that. Forget BG.
The indications from Obs. is that Chris Parker is calling the shots for the next "AAA" project (his shallow take: "hey, I get to make Skyrim!"), so I'm already done even if ol' "hope my employees guess frame of mind today" Chris Parker's management style wastes countless dollars and time. (To his defense, he learned this shit-stained argument from Fergie McFerg who would change his mind on a daily basis and not tell anyone - but what I can't condone from Parker is how pig-eager he embraced it, and also, how he was the best person to... "realize" it. Cue sad trombones - all of them, everywhere.)
The Outer Worlds was made in 3 years by a 70 people team. Knowing Obsidian this should take 4-5 years considering the scope of the project, considering most of the studio is now focusing on Avowed(they even grew from 170 to 234 devs) and more will be pulled in as Grounded and Outer Worlds DLC gets wrapped up this year.Your personal guesswork.

I'm not talking about your quote or your podcast
I'm talking about this
In which he confirms two games
One in full production that is using their old animation system and one in pre production which is using their new one
Starfield is not using their old animation system
You have Designers saying they began working on Avowed very late in 2018.
this year ? lol no
So...Starfield's been in pre-production for five years and Sony tried getting timed exclusivity for a game in pre-production for five whole years, when they were seemingly frustrated that one of their own 1P games (Days Gone) had dev issues in active development for five years?

I'll believe that just as soon when Sony releases Blasto 2.
Sir, where are your receipts? You've posted not a single one yet.
Yeah like when was there talk about Sony attempting to get exclusivity in 2016? Sounds like bullshit.Come on you can do better than to argue based on some unsubstantiated rumour
And tried getting timed exckusivity for 5 years? Lmao what?
They acknowledged Wolfenstein 3 back in 2018.Whoa this is true? Is there going to be a new arkane and a wolfentstein released in 2022?
These are from 2017.Fable didn't start development in 2017, they were just talking about getting the second studio started for a game back then and as late as 2020 there were still some highly important positions for that team left unfilled. It takes time to build a large team like that it doesn't happen overnight. Fable is probably at least another 2 years away if not more.
I am excited for a possible Prey 2. To me any Prey 2 news is more important than anything else. The fact that Everything is going to be okay was playing at the background during the Arkane Austin segment of Bethesda Roundtable has got all my hopes up.Bethesda games who knows? sounds like the big 2 are still a ways off and the rest I personally couldn't care less about.
I'm a gamer, I couldn't care less about the inner workings of Obsidian. I just care when the game is coming out, and if it's any good. I've put it to the back of mind as it's not gonna be out for ages.

The possibility raised in this article is one of the main reasons I will always prefer to buy my games outright. If I bought a Series S or X today, and banked on renting games for the generation, I would already have paid a fortune to play the actual games I want down the road, instead of the 70 per game for the 1 or 2 I would have bought after the reviews came in.
There's literally someone on the previous page saying Avowed might come out in late 2022 .I was talking about Starfield, not Avowed. No one, literally no one, has said Avowed was a 2022 or even 2023 game.
Hey man you're the one who's making it seem like Starfield is way later even 2022 even though there's been rumors it could most likely release this year.
How do we know when in the process Sony negotiates exclusivity deals? Have they come out and confirmed this?I was talking about Starfield, not Avowed. No one, literally no one, has said Avowed was a 2022 or even 2023 game.
Hey man you're the one who's making it seem like Starfield is way later even 2022 even though there's been rumors it could most likely release this year.
If it's using a new animation system that hasn't been ready until recently that would suggest its release is very far off but if Sony were trying to negotiate timed exclusivity on it then it's fair to say it's fairly well along since Sony tends to wait until something's decently progressed before negotiating those types of deals.
Then again that is all just a rumor but there's nothing substantial to point to a post-2022 Starfield release, either. There's barely anything to point to a post-2021 release TBH.
Or, you could just...wait until the game gets its release date announced and subscribe for a small period at the time it's released? If you're that particular about wanting to play just that game, anyhow.
Also in Microsoft's case 1P content doesn't rotate out of GamePass, you can still buy the game (with a discount even) while it's in GamePass and you very likely won't need to worry about having a physical copy that becomes effectively bricked in several years due to a CMOS & server backdoor DRM built into the system (who's to say PS5 doesn't have the same CMOS & online verify check-in scheme the PS4's turned out to have?)....and you save some bucks in the long run or can use the freed-up bucks to spend on other content, maybe even for the specific game itself.
Unless we're talking about old-school systems (anything pre-7th gen), the pro-physical argument more or less dies and the majority of gamers seem to agree and will keep agreeing in larger numbers as time goes on. You don't even really "own" these games anymore even if you spend the $70 so why feel like you do?
Avowed will not drop this year(its targeting late 2022-early 2023), but Starfield may be a 2021 title.
Due to Covid it's possible, but...
Avowed is in development since 2018. same for Hellblade 2 (according to devs LinkedIn profiles). Everwild is in development since 2017.
So yeah...All of them could come out in 2022...
I never said that. "2021-22" means games that will release in that window. Should have clarified that maybe was just "maybe 2022"(seems like neo members can't edit after 5 minutes). Everwild started in 2017(so definitely 2022), Hellblade II/ Avowed started in 2018(so maybe 2022).
Starfield has been in development since 2015 by a much larger team. Still think 2021 is undoable?
How do we know when in the process Sony negotiates exclusivity deals? Have they come out and confirmed this?
P.S here are three posters saying Avowed might come out in 2022 which you must have missed:
He's just one guy, and yes, it's a possibility. BUT, nothing has been stated as of yet and there's no hard proof that it's actually getting delayed. Also, Deathloop getting a (small) delay does not have any tangible bearing on other games like Starfield whatsoever; different teams are handling these games, one could still be on track as planned but the other had to be slightly delayed. It's mad that in a post COVID world you can still seriously believe it's coming this year
It's not.
Imran Khan has already basically alluded to this after Deathloops second delay
Dude, you KNOW I was referring to media types and insiders when I asked who was saying Avowed was a pre-2024 title That's also my personal stance on Avowed: sometime 2024, and if it comes any earlier I'll be happily surprised.
Truth is I don't know when Sony were negotiating exclusivity deals for Starfield but....you don't know, either. And you take a pessimistic outlook on that whereas I'm more optimistic it'll release sooner vs. later, and there are already some credible hints to suggest it could even be a 2021 title.
If I were to venture a guess, Sony were probably negotiating for Starfield either around the time they did for Ghostwire & Deathloop, or a little bit later than that. These were probably all before MS & Zenimax were winding down their discussions to move into the announcement for intent of acquisition period.

Also, Arkane Austin, who made Prey(2017) is separate from Arkane Lyon, who made Dishonored 2 and now Deathloop.

These are from 2017.

I think what makes alot of people skeptical about Starfield releasing this year is there hasn’t been a single moment of gameplay shown yet. Correct me if I’m wrong there, but I can’t remember seeing any gameplay yet. Also, Deathloop getting a (small) delay does not have any tangible bearing on other games like Starfield whatsoever; different teams are handling these games, one could still be on track as planned but the other had to be slightly delayed.

You have added little to this thread other then providing circular argumentsNo I don't KNOW you were talking about 'media types' when you said 'literally no one' .
The stuff about Sony negotiating exclusivity at a specific period in time sounds like baseless speculation plucked out of the sky. People are hoping it Starfield comes out this year, but the chances are between slim and none. And slim just left the building.
Yes Bernkastel progressed this thread brilliantly, and you've come in and been a breath of fresh air .You have added little to this thread other then providing circular arguments
You visit frequently I seeSo let me get this straight
The ascent doesn't count cos it's AA made by second party
Returnal counts cos it's AA and made by a second party
Halo infinite doesn't count cos it's the 9th game in the series
New god of war counts even though they've only ever shown a splash logo
Fable doesn't count cos it's only shown CG
Horizon west counts cos it showed some cg
Oddworld counts cos it's AA filler trash released day one on sub
Medium doesn't count cos it's filler trash released day one on sub
Flight Sim doesn't count cos all you do is fly around and see no one else in game
Destruction all-stars counts cos all you do is drive around and there's literally no one else playing
Wasn't Demons Souls released with the console last year. Either way, it's not "reasons" as to why it doesn't count. IT WAS RELEASED OVER A DECADE AGO is why it isn't the AAA almighty exclusive some of you keep trying to prop it up as.Sony already released big exclusives for PS5 tho. Unless Demon's Souls still dont count for reasons.
Since you mentioned Horizon that was stated as being cross gen, Miles is still killing it on the charts. Seems Sony also seems better equipped to release cross gen games. And its looking like Sack Boy is doing fine going by PSN download charts.
I guess now Ratchet n Clank and Returnal also dont count. Both still coming this year. Returnal is Housemarque's first shot at AAA.
Sony is not literally in the same situation. They are literally in the opposite situation.
Exactly. The desperation on display here is hilariously pathetic. So let me get this straight

You know it's an Xbox thread when it has more PS fans in it lol
2022 and beyond which isn't a great look for MS especially if Covid plays a factor in even longer delays.Only 6 months into this gen. Exclusives won't be ready for another 6 or 7 years? Lol sureeee
completely false. Halo, Hellblade and Forza are a thing this is not counting the second party exclusives (which will be there)2022 and beyond which isn't a great look for MS especially if Covid plays a factor in even longer delays.
completely false. Halo, Hellblade and Forza are a thing this is not counting the exclusive second parties (which will be there)
in 2022 halo this yearLol when was Hellblade releasing this year?
halo is the biggest franchise releasing on any next gen console. something that could take only god of war or uncharted to be comparable..so when I hear biggest franchise are distant ..is just a bsOkay so he's right.

If people think that Ms will not have exclusives for the 22 is really naive or clearly is pushing a narrative, in fact it happens that the usual suspects do it.
YOU are not impressed , have you any doubt that halo will double the sales of anything that released on ps5 by now?People are talking about their new games from and ganes from their new studios No one is impressed by a year of Halo and Forza, especially when we've been waiting four years for the latter.
And even Horizon and Ghosts did better numbers than Halo 5 lol. Its not a behemoth anymore
YOU are not impressed , have you any doubt that halo will double the sales of anything that released on ps5 by now?
And this show how much you are out of touch and are here just wanting to push a bad narrative about XboxBetween launching on gamepass, multiplayer being free, coming off of Halo 5 trash single player and the poor demo it had not a chance lmao
And this show how much you are out of touch and are here just wanting to push a bad narrative about Xbox
What a time line, Halo doesn't count but Abe's soulstorm does.
And even Horizon and Ghosts did better numbers than Halo 5 lol. Its not a behemoth anymore
lol....ps5 only vs HALO on xbox + pc ...sure a fanboy can dreamThe correct narrative is we aren't going to see the potential of Xbox's output until maybe next year
Meanwhile we're just going to have to settle with another Halo from lame ass 343 and no one is wowed by that shit lmao
Horizon 2 will have bigger sales fyi lmao
I'm sure you'll be able to brag about some MAU metric microsoft posts about the multiplayer though
