I remember renting Contra Legacy of War and it was shit. It was insanely hard due to the bullet spread all over the screen with no shadows. And it moved oddly fast like your guy ran on steroids.

I checked out the game again on YT out of curiosity due to the Konami Finances Thread, and never realized what awesome level 1 music it had. It's a CD remake version of Contra III level 1.

Real answer is that a lot of mobile games tied to gaming IPs do these, and usually to good results. I'm a fan of this oldie.
