Vault was the only gold of the three event finals Simone might have lost, so good on her for getting that..she should have no problem getting Beam and Floor.

The only question now is if Madison can win gold on bars and if Gabby can grab silver over Mustafina, and if Laurie can medal on Beam. Aly should have no problem getting silver in Floor.

Beam in never a lock for anyone. Anything can happen.

Simone got 16 on her second vault? @_@

I would have seen it live but my mom is visiting and I had to take her somewhere. And on my way back (rushing home), got the update that she won gold. Just watched the replay and wow....she's just too good. It's almost unfair. Hopefully she can close out the rest of the events.

I hope Madison Kocian doesn't get the gold. She is always overscored to hell and back.

Her tying Komova's execution score at last years Worlds was already some major bullshit.

Italian commentary (including Igor Cassina, gold medal at the high bar in Athens) pretty puzzled with the judges in the uneven bars, saying that Kocian was overscored and Shang majorly undescored.

Rings is finally over:

1. Eleftherios Petrounias
2. Arthur Zanetti
3. Denis Abliazin

Now we get to the interesting events. lol

Pray for everyone's legs on vault.

They should let the women do rings. Would add a bit more variety to 3 tumbling events and the bars.

I say parallel bars is more suited for women to do

They also need to add balance beam and music to floor for the men as well

I think things will get interesting when they balance out apparatuses rather than being gear towards one criteria

The difference in strength between men and women is too huge in rings for it to be an interesting women's events. Even relatively simple movements like the iron cross (simple for elite male athletes, not for your average joe) would be an incredible obstacle for women.
He was.

But what I don't like about rings is that nothing dramatic ever happens except when someone takes a step on the dismount. At least on pommels we get some funny falls lol.
I don't know, I just appreciate the strength a lot. I used to do some workouts using rings (which is something I want to take up again, if I only found the space) and seeing that stuff done effortlessly is amazing.
