First of all: the response to the IRC servers keeps timing out when I try to connect. Even through chatzilla, even through trillian, even through Java, even through xChat. Blasted thing.

Secondly: sometimes a dialup networking box pops up, even though I'm connected to a school network (via a cat-5e, of course)...so, anyone know how to disable that?

tools -> Internet Options -> Connections tab never dial a connection for number 2.

Also: they refer to IRC is a "filesharing client."
