Marvel's Wolverine | Full Gameplay Reveal

Amazing to say this but I think I would play this. Looks like a fun game! Wolverine is a buy for me.

This got Out-Marvelled by GoW and the Cube of Destiny or whatever it is now.
 
Sure, I guess if Debra Wilson has a great agent and she was guaranteed a prominent role on the Wolverine video game, one of the few B-roles that works out but isn't too distracting would be Callisto.

She would get a few strong lines, have her quick spotlight mission (which is probably early in the game considering how often they're showing it), then after he helps her, Wolverine leaves to continue his world-spanning adventure.

Let's forget about adding something in a piece of art that aids said piece of art in a positive way. As long as it doesn't ruin it completely (only a little maybe) then it's OK.

Oh you misunderstand, I have never cared about people of different races taking different roles or alternate visions of classic stories.

I have only cared about good writing and bad writing. I merely typed that up for your sake, not mine. Debra Wilson does not bother me. She is just Troy Baker of the 2020s.
 
It's cool it's so bloody, but then it's ruined by still doing that thing where the blood is only around for like 5 seconds before it starts fading away off the character killing the immersion of it, Bloodbourne figured out how to keep the blood around back in 2015, a game in 2026 with this much tech behind it should be able to as well.

Thank you! This is so distracting to me that I'd want a mode to significantly reduce the blood. Thankfully, it exists, but then I'm just playing basically a reskinned Spider-Man with ability limitations and blander combat. They should have gotten the blood right.
 
Im surprised, this game looks like absolute garbage. Was expecting it to be upgraded a lot from the leaks but it just looks so terrible... sigh.

It would be crazy if MS shows Blade and it outshines Wolvie.

It's crazy how some people are hating on the trailer. Everything looks phenomenal both from a visual and gameplay standpoint.

The more awesome ps5 only games that get shown the more negative bitterness you can expect its liken to average/ugly girls hating on the prom queen but it keeps the board entertaining 😉

Meh. I thought the gore was fine. Better than I expected anyway. My biggest gripe is one second Logan is covered in blood, then the next he's clean.

Oh well. At least nobody here is upset because Logan is killing people who made "poor career choices"

 
Y'know what, the general art style just isn't serving Wolverine. The aesthetic they're applying to the classic suits don't work at all.

People will laugh at this but Wolverine should be dripping with testosterone. He should look hairy, sweaty and gruff. He needs to be brimming with energy and intimidating.

The look of the game isn't conveying that. Logan looks like a shield agent wearing the Wolverine armor. He doesn't have any aura.

Some parts of the video it looks like it's on rails, like a bunch of QTEs rather than actual mashing of buttons to get the actions flowing

And again, he can slice steel beams like a hot knife through butter, but these bunch of TEMU cyberpunk villains are able to withstand the same adamantium claws, they better have a good in-game explanation for that
 
- I thought the gore was interesting in the first trailer but here it desperately invokes deep cognitive dissonance. I mean wow are we really supposed to root for this guy who's leaping around in an ultra realistic setting acting like a serial killer? I have no context who these mercenaries are, but it gives me no reason to justify why they should be murdered so violently. Aren't they just doing their jobs? Cyborgs or no? Then it's like Jean Grey so casually setting him up in combat with these "alley oop" kills; like she's totally fine being an accessory to brutal barbaric death with seemingly zero emotional reaction to it. It's all so super jarring and a little uncomfortable to watch honestly

they really didn't show anything that makes the game look fun to play...

like i see that you press square and maybe triangle for a parry, there were some L2 moves in the corner.

but there doesn't really seem to be much more than that going on...

Spider-man's combat wasn't mind blowing either but it makes up for it with his spider abilities, climbing, swinging, arkham stealth style puzzle rooms.

I just don't see what more you'll be doing in wolverine other than pressing square lots of times.... honest it looks like the Crystal Dynamics Avengers game.
I thought Decent combat was the only saving grace of that turd tbh, every character felt pretty different aswell, and it definitely had more than just pressing square and the occasional parry.

Well it had the benefit of so many characters, imagine you only had like ms marvel that whole game, thats kind of what wolverine looks like.

yeah gameplay look even more basic than spidey, and the gore is not really the best, a lot of blood but barely any decapitation of vertical body slices or cutting limbs except maybe one robotic leg...

The good amount of blood and the good looking ragdoll are the best praise i have at the moment :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

I mean if you are not crazy about the wolverine character, the game lose a lot of its selling points, the trailer really doesn't excel at anything for now.

Decapitation is probably turned off for trailer purposes, we know it's in there

I thought having a good looking female mercenary freezing in fear "Oh my God!" before getting brutally stabbed in the chest and face by the main character was.. rather bold.
Like God of War III bold.
 
Is it gonna be the same setup of "big villain invade city, city is filled with bad guys" like all their Spider-Man games?

I wonder how they are gonna match the dynamic of the Spider-Man combat system as well, as so much was about jumping and using Spider-Man powers. My fear is that it's gonna be a pure button-masher.
