Wemade has announced that a new investment round saw it receiving around $46 million of investment from a number of companies, including the Xbox parent.

Though it’s not clear how much of this $46 million can be attributed to Microsoft, Wemade stated that it had “remarkably succeeded to attract new capital from […] a foreign strategic investor at favourable conditions”.

Wemade CEO Henry Chang added: “This is a meaningful investment by reputable financial and strategic investors with proven track records. Wemade and Wemix will continue to exert efforts to attract more capital and actively invest to build the global digital economy platform.”

Folks, please read the OP before posting.

- The studio got $46mn investment from multiple studios, not MS. They just happened to be one of the investors.
- They make PC and mobile games, nothing to do with Xbox.

VGC and their click-bait healines...

The headline is "Microsoft has invested in a Korean blockchain game company". It didn't claim it was the only company investing, and it didn't say anything about Xbox. If you went into it with preconceptions about what would be in there, that's up to you, but that isn't what clickbait is.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

If MS pursues them more, Xbox will get more mobile ports. Which is what he's saying.

The “blockchain” is one of the worst things to happen. This nonsense is what pushed gpu prices sky fucking high in the first place.
