Just have him give the kid a thousand bucks or two. It was a dick move but in the end it was petty cash, nothing worth ruining a guy's life over. Kid gets many times his loss for being troubled, millionaire takes a big hit on a small purchase, the end. Drag it out and the guy's gonna put more money into lawyers' pockets than he will the kid's, not to mention taxpayers' money to throw the trial.
