wow... that is a meaty PSP list. I hope the DS gets the same kind of support. A lot of developers and publishers signed on but to me that don't mean a thing. The games that they announce is what counts in the end.

Once western firms start getting up to speed on DS I think you'll see the game list swell dramatically. Right now it's really running off Japanese announcements mainly, probably since they've had SDKs since last year (while western developers just got them this spring).

I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions

the lack of lead time is a factor, but the history of GBA development is also a factor. At this point, Western devs have mostly abandoned GBA development because it's almost impossible to make money there. I would expect most to hold back and see what initial tie ratios and third-party sell-throughs are before making a major commitment.

Didn't I hear that the Brownie Brown website also has a NDS title listed as being their next game in development?

I am struggling to remember any western developers who attempted to make stuff other than shovelware and movie licenses for the GBA, so that I can see why their games failed. I am really struggling here, but I can't seem to recall any decent efforts at 3rd party GBA titles that -failed-. I can think of a lot of -crummy- games that failed, though.

Media costs are the major reason for the lack of western GBA support, and that's something the move to 3DROM alleviates. The media itself is cheap, high capacity and writing techniques can be done post chip production.

Also, western companies like EA, Activision and Atari who were comparatively cautious on their DS commitments pre-E3 have come out and publicly reaffirmed their support and indicated increased support after the show. I think the platform's warm reception at E3 has made a lot of western publishers reevalute their commitment to the platform...

edit-thanks for the updates Marco and GDGF. :)

Wasn't a Zelda DS confirmed to be in the works?

And you might as well add Pokémon to the DS list. I mean, come on.

A Madden NDS would be brilliant if it allowed you to draw your own plays on the second screen using the stylus. I'm sure the WiFi and bluetooth would make it popular too.
