Official Promo Trailer

Does anyone care anymore? It's 10 DVDs, includes the 3 movies (duh), animatrix, a crapload of extras and documentaries:

disk1 the matrix
disk2 the matrix revisited
disk3 reloaded
disk4 reloaded revisited
disk5 revolutions
disk6 revolutions revisited
disk7 animatrix
disk8 roots of the matrix
disk9 the burly man chronicals
disk10 the zion archive

I'll be getting this, I avoided buying the single movies for this reason. It'll be coming out early Dec for about $80USD. These two are not confirmed yet.

Save yourself the money. Buy the first movie on dvd, watch it. Then for the next 4 hours afterwards sit in the corner of your room with a rubber mallet and bash yourself in the nuts. Include one additional hour if you want to own Animatrix.

Yeah, The Animatrix has some good bits. It was a lot better than Reloaded or Revolutions, that's for sure.

In the Animatrix, when they drop the nuke on the robots, why didn't they fallover dead? The EMP of a nuke should have shut them down.

They are super robots! Shut up, you! Your trying to put logic in The Matrix!

This makes me remember when I was like, "Wait, how do people give birth in The Matrix?" or the many, many threads of "Making humans a power supply is far too complicated when the robots have other alternatives, so they are stupid".

ALERT ALERT MORE UNJUSTIFIED SEQUEL HATE ALERT ALERT

I loved Reloaded. In some ways it is better than the first to me. Revolutions was kind of "Eh" for the most part, but it needed to be done to complete the trilogy. I think of it as mirroring the Star Wars trilogy. Empire>Star Wars>Jedi. Each of the films had the basic feeling of the three Matrix movies.

The sequels feel nothing like the original. They're bigger, more open and despite the fact they throw more words at the audience, they're dumber.

Unjustified? Yeah, I like seeing arguably the most influential science-fiction and/or action movie of the decade milked into two sequels of complete shit.

And whereas the actual concensus is that Empire is superior to A New Hope, it's not when considering Reloaded and The Matrix.

Well, I don't think they're dumber, or were made as devices to milk the franchise. They're bigger and more open, and that's one of the things that I like about them.

Well, considering that EMP is the weapon they actually use to kill the robots in the actual films I think that it was a hell of an oversight. I actually hated the animatrix episodes that I saw. They reminded me of prentious self gratifying underground shorts.

I'm with you 100% Ermac. Fuck all the haters.

BTW, awesome usage of Keanu's "Whoa" in the trailer, LOL.

I'll just hold out until the collector's edition of the original Matrix is released on its own. It paid off waiting for the Aliens series and I assume it'll work with the Matrix.

They're bigger and more open, and that's one of the things that I like about them.

Sometimes I dare to dream of a perfect world in which the Matrix never had any sequels and Star Wars never had any prequels.

It's both beautiful and depressing.

I question why the blatant trolling by a few individuals in every Matrix thread is acceptable. It's akin to Diablos getting banned for a few days for trolling music threads. Cut it out.

Christ this Matrix sequel argument is still going, damn near a year after the fact.

I'm only interested in picking up the remastered edition of The Matrix, even though I watched and enjoyed Reloaded to death.

The sequels taken as two movies generally suck. However, watch them as one long ass movie and they seem to suck less. Still, I can sit through Revolutions more than Reloaded just for the Dock Battle.

Eye-blisteringly-detailed CGI Dock Battle >>>>>>>>>>> crappy plastic looking CGI Burly Brawl

Yep, Einstein even had blockbuster Sci-Fi movies in mind when he said that.

didn't the dock battle cost as much as a whole movie though? I thought that's what I heard.

No man, its not that a human power supply wouldn't work, its that it can't be one hundred percent efficient and if its not completely efficient then eventually the computers would run out of energy. Also, if it were completely efficient, it would still be impossible to add more energy to the system and the computers would not be able to expand.

Why couldn't they have put the footage filmed for Enter the Matrix into Reloaded rather then having it as a special feature? Or at least have the option to watch the movie with or without the ETM footage?

$80 is too much for this, even if I'm just going to buy it, listen to the commentaries (which are guaranteed to be comedy gold), and eBay it.
