A couple of weeks ago we reported on
an interview (link NSFW) with Grey, where she mentioned her recent purchase of a mint, in-box ColecoVision and a copy of
Smurf: Rescue in Gargamel's Castle. The opportunity to talk to one of the porn valley's most interesting talents was too great to turn down. We immediately reached out to Grey and begged for the chance to grill her on the subject of gaming. Our interaction with the beautiful, outspoken sex star was edifying.
Here's what Sasha Grey had to say to GiantRealm:
How long have you been playing video games?
As long as I can remember. Whether it was a secondhand NES, or games on a prehistoric Mac for children.
GR: What was the first game you remember playing?
Tetris...perhaps even
Oregon Trail.
What was the first game you loved?
Tetris,
Mario Brothers, and
Zelda.
How often do you play?
I don't play video games as much as I'd like to, I'd say I get an hour in once a week or so. Hopefully that will change...
You're on the road a lot - do you take a DS or PSP with you? If not, is that something you're thinking about?
I usually play games on my iPhone - if I'm on the road I do a lot of sleeping and writing! But the idea of getting into
Brain Age does excite me.
What are your favorite games and game characters? What do you like about those games and characters?
Right now I just bought
The Simpsons game, so I really dig that. I'd also have to say
UT is also a big favorite, but I'm awful at it.
The Simpsons is easy - since I can't commit the time to a more challenging, more exciting game, I get the entertainment I need from it.
UT is a great game all around, and it's actually pretty fucking funny. [As for] Characters: I like Sniperwolf from
Metal Gear, she's sexy for sure...and Rayne is pretty iconic in my book.
What game(s) do you kickass in?
Tetris, yeah I know I'm not great at any of the intense games.
What do you like about gaming in general? Is it just a way to kill time? Does it relax you? What other activities would you compare gaming to?
It's another form of entertainment for me - yes, it's definitely relaxing...unless you are trying to beat a level and it takes you forever! You can't compare gaming to anything else, that's why it is so popular.
