Today, Thunderful announced that they have come to an agreement with Jumpship to acquire the studio for an undisclosed fee (courtesy of VGC). The deal is expected to go through later today.
With today's acquisition, Thunderful indicated that they will ensure Jumpship will remain a creative studio working on story-focused experiences. The level of intrigue that Jumpship’s managed to generate for its debut title shows you that this is a team with a deep artistic vision," said the chief gaming officer at Thunderful Agostino Simonetta. "Adding to our already diverse and accomplished roster of talent under the Thunderful Studios’ umbrella is an important part of our strategy to build strong internal IPs. We look forward to supporting the team at Jumpship to harness their skill for building impactful narrative-driven experiences as they continue to create fantastic titles within the Thunderful family."
Dino Patti, the co-founder of Jumpship who was already a CEO at Playdead and worked on both Limbo and Inside, will remain at the studio after the acquisition, operating in a new role as a strategic advisor for Thunderful Group.
