Do you remember all the speculation about Sony taking some design cues from their DVD units for PS3? Well, it looks like people were looking at the wrong format. That is one fugly MD system BTW.

I agree, but what makes it fugly is the way the display breaks up the smooth contour of the rest of the unit. By eliminating any trace of that from the PS3, Sony has improved upon the inspiration a thousandfold, at least as far as I'm concerned.
